About

Underoath has been a seminal voice in progressive, heavy rock for almost two decades. When you look at the long list of bands that would be considered their contemporaries, very few can match Underoath when it comes to consistently pushing the envelope or the ability to evolve creatively without losing sight of what made them such a special band in the first place. This far into their storied career, the band has unsurprisingly faced their fair share of adversity. But through the trials and tribulations, a commitment to their craft and a sense of accountability rooted in mutual respect for each other has ensured that each new chapter for Underoath continues to shape their legacy in a positive fashion.

In 2020, as a global pandemic shook the foundation of the music industry, Underoath once again blazed a new path forward with their critically-acclaimed Observatory livestream. As interest in the digital consumption of live music seemed to be waning, the band breathed new life into the realm with a complete overhaul of the process – creating something equal parts intimate and monumental. It carried the weight of a sold out arena show translated through vessels consumable in fan’s living rooms. What made it all the more impactful was the fact that the entire initiative was dreamt up and brought to fruition largely by the band’s internal team. Thus, providing another shining reminder of the innovation that the six members on Underoath are capable of pulling together.

On the band’s 2018 Fearless Records debut, Erase Me, we saw a new side of Underoath. Having already established themselves both as melodic songwriters (2004’s RIAA-Certified Gold record They’re Only Chasing Safety) and as ambitious power merchants (2006’s gold-selling Define The Great Line and the majestic follow-up Lost In The Sound of Separation in 2008), the evolution detailed on Erase Me found Underoath using meticulously crafted sonic dialects that painted a vivid picture of how the band had grown artistically in the long layoff since their previous record.

With their shared history of remarkable accolades and trying hardships continuing to shape who the individual members are as people, Underoath is still just scratching the surface of what they can accomplish as a band. There are few acts in the annals of rock history that can say their best work is still ahead of them almost two decades into their career. Fortunately, Underoath falls into that category. As the world opens back up in 2021, the band is deeply committed to living up to the high expectations that fans (and themselves) have come to expect for anything associated with the project. It will undoubtedly be something special to witness as this next chapter in the Underoath story manifests.

    10 out of 10!

by Kerri on 3/8/23The Paramount - Huntington

Been waiting about 20 years to see them live and they did not disappoint! Played all my old favorites, their new song and many in between. They really involved the crowd and put on an awesome show. As for the venue, this was my second time at The Paramount and really enjoy it! They have standing and seating, multiple bars to access drinks, coat check etc. I love going to events there and can’t wait to go back!

    Ok overall but...

by Tony on 3/6/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

The microphones did not work well for any of the performances. The first band only played one song because of technical difficulties. I understand that stuff happens but I could barely hear Spencer and the lead singer of Periphery. I have seen underoath more than 15 times and this wasnt their best performance. Again, no faults of the bands. The equipment was just not working well. Hopefully they got it sorted out.

    Periphery Should Have Been Headlining

by TickTakk on 3/6/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Sure underoath is great, but I felt like everything from the sound crew, the musical performance, and the crowd was more into Periphery than Underoath. My two cents.

by ScreamoKevin on 3/6/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

This enter show was absolutely amazing! I moshed and crowd surfed the entire night! Both openers and the headliner all killed it! This was my second time seeing Underoath, live. I really hope to see them again soon!

    UNDEROATH FOREVER

by Jaye on 4/18/22Bayou Music Center - Houston

Only reason for 4 stars has NOTHING to do with Underoath. I will always see them except at this venue. Bayou music center is terrible. We had to pay for parking, to check my friend's purse and a bottle of grocery store wine was $30. Hate this venue but absolutely LOVE Underoath always. Bring them back to Houston but not this venue!

    UØ never fail

by TrainableGirl on 4/5/22Jannus Live - St Petersburg

Saw UnderØath on the last day of the Voyeurist tour. It’s been a bit since I saw them live, and it was worth the wait. The guys are still massively talented and know how to put on one hell of a rock show.

    WELL...

by Doug on 3/31/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

The show was fantastic (but short) due to the doors opening late. Two hours late if I remember correctly. I don't know the reason but there isn't much that can excuse that.

    Amazing Line Up

by Edward on 3/31/22Jannus Live - St Petersburg

I came to see Spiritbox, but was blown away by the performance of Stray from the Path, and Bad Omens. Security was thorough, no fights, the crowd was made up of cool people just looking for a good time. Over all I got to say bad omens was the best act, never heard their music before but now I’m a new fan. would have liked for spirit box to be a little louder but they did an amazing job overall. I would only suggest maybe putting up some signs around the city to make it easier to find garage parking.

    Amazing

by Cara on 3/31/22Jannus Live - St Petersburg

Every band did great! Really good show. Underoath was still awesome to see live years later. Bad omens was even better than the first time I saw them as well. Stray from the path and Spiritbox were both my first time and I’d definitely go see them again.

    Great Lineup Order

by LFG COURTNEY on 3/29/22Jannus Live - St Petersburg

Great lineup order, excellent venue 10/10 would go again -- for the openers and the venue Sound mixing wasn't managed well for Underoath given all the instrumentalists -- could barely hear the vocals. Tons of people left after Stray, BO, and SB Thanks for the memorable experience!

    Great bands, horrible venue experience!

by Justin on 3/29/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

The doors were sup[pose to open at 6 pm and the show to start at 7 pm. We got into line a couple of blocks down at 6:10 pm and doors didn't open until after 7:30 pm. We made it inside a little after 8 pm and the first two acts had already played and the third act was going on. All the sets were shortened due to the venue not opening doors at the correct time. We feel cheated especially since we bought tickets mainly to see the openers. This was my first time at the Tabernacle in ATL and probably be my last.
