UNC Charlotte 49ers Baseball Tickets

The UNC Charlotte 49ers baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. The team competes in Conference USA of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The 49ers play their home games at Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium, which is located on the university's campus.

The 49ers have won one Conference USA championship, in 2023. They have also appeared in the NCAA Tournament seven times, most recently in 2023. The 49ers have had several players who have gone on to play professional baseball. Some of the most notable include Chris Haney and Jeff Johnson.

Haney pitched for the Charlotte 49ers, earning All-Sun Belt honors in 1989 and 1990. He holds the program record for 20 complete games. Haney was drafted by the Montreal Expos in 1990 and made his major league debut with them before being traded to the Kansas City Royals.

Elsewhere, Johnson was drafted by the New York Yankees in the sixth round of the 1988 amateur draft. He had a three-year Major League Baseball career as a pitcher and posted eight wins and 16 losses with a 6.52 ERA.

Since 1999, the team has played their home games at Robert and Mariam Hayes Stadium, named after longtime supporters of the 49ers baseball program. The stadium has a seating capacity of 5,000 people.
