About The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team
The United States is home to one of the greatest teams in international soccer, an inspiration for girls, women, and fans everywhere. Millions of soccer fans in the United States and across the world were created when Brandi Chastain led the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team (USWNT) to victory with her penalty kick against China in the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup final.Ā
In the two decades since, the USWNT has continued its dominance in women's soccer and influenced a robust college and pro circuit in the United States. The USWNT also has made household names out of Michelle Akers, Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, Abby Wambach, and Megan Rapinoe, among others, and inspired new generations of women's amateur, college, and professional soccer stars as well as women athletes in all sports.
The United States Women's National Soccer Team has won three FIFA Women's World Cup championships (including the first tournament in 1991) and four Olympic gold medals ā in 1996, 2004, 2008, and 2012. The U.S. also has hosted the 1999 and 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup, the 1996 tournament at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and it will host the Olympic soccer tournament again when the games come to Los Angeles in 2028.
The USWNT has grown exponentially with the game over the last 35 years. The first game for the United States Women's National Team took place in 1985, and ever since they have been consistently among the top teams worldwide in women's soccer.Ā
That success has continued under the English-born Jill Ellis, who took over as head coach in 2014 and led the team to the 2015 Women's World Cup title. After winning their eighth CONCACAF Women's Championship in 2018, the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team will look to take home their fourth FIFA Women's World Cup when France hosts the tournament in 2019.
We were excited to get to see the Women's World Cup Champions play in Charlotte. It was a great opportunity to see great players play a great game.
I had so much fun! Julie Foudy & Brandi Chastain were there! The pregame rocked- lots of fun. GO USA!
Loved the event and all the pre-game fun! Met 2 of my soccer idols! Fantastic game just wish it didn't cost so much.
Truly a great level of play, more than I had ever hoped to see, and oh so fair. S. Korea stood their ground. I truly hope more women's events like this can come to Charlotte.
The game atmosphere was great and all the events around it were well put together.
Great seats and great game!! Club level seating was cool.....weather was a little hot though!! :)
One of the best nights ever! Charlotte was awesome and seeing tge Women's National Soccer Team play waw amazing!!!
I should get closer to the seat šŗ But it was the first time soccer game in the big stadium š
Great time in Charlotte, great game! Superb play by Christen Press and Carli Lloyd! Go tram USA
Everything you would expect a USWNT game to be.. but better.
The game was amazing! The seats we had in the 100 level are definitely the best Iāve ever had. For a soccer game those seats are probably the only ones Iāll ever purchase again because the view was great. After the game, we were able to go to the rail and a couple of players stuck around to autograph merch. I love that the USWNT came to this stadium and Iāll keep supporting them and going to any game they come to in NC.
Fun time to see World Cup Champion. Itās a good game to see in Charlotte NC
Over all a great experience. Electronic ticket admission went well and the over all presentation was great. Had a great time and it was awesome to see some World Champions play.
Good game. Sure was hot though. Not sure USWNT or US Soccer could do anything about that.
It was my fist soccer game and it was a lot of fun! Very different from a football game but it was amazing!
Well planned event , the crowd showed great support for the team. Perfect venue for this type event. The parking pass purchase was needless and a āfiascoā needless payment for nothing. Nobody could direct you to the proper lot. A great event to support our team.
Tickets were in a great spot. Atmosphere was incredible. I really wish there were more soccer events at Bank of America stadium. Hoping to see that in the future.
Being in and part of the atmosphere was a great experience. However, I missed being able to watch the game in the comfort of my home with the play by play commentary. At home no one stands in front of me to have a chat during in game, blocking my view. I was also disappointed that I didnāt get to see Heath or Horan play.
