About

Tycho is embarking on their first headlining tour since 2020. Following the release of Weather in 2019, the band returns to their roots, delivering their signature blend of electronic dance music and melody-driven instrumental post-rock. Scott Hansen's creative vision, delicate melodies, and mesmerizing soundscapes take on new energy in the live setting, thanks to the incredible drumming of Rory O'Connor and an immersive visual experience. With guitarist/bassist Zac Brown and multi-instrumentalist Billy Kim rounding out the lineup, Tycho has been captivating fans for over a decade.

I got there late- my fault. I'm used to opening acts going on at least an hour late and then the main act not starting until well after 10pm. Not so here. I got there at 9:30, expecting to catch the last couple songs of the openers, then have time to wander the venue and find my perfect spot. Tycho was a good way into their set by the time I got my beer and found my perch. A sign on the door showed their (Tycho) start time as 9:15. So I'm assuming they did (start then) as the crowd was already deeply entranced by the time I was able to see the stage. The venue was sold out. That's usually bad news (especially when planning on showing up late), but it took me all of two minutes to make my way through the crowd to the bar, another two to get my beer and another two to pay. Not bad for a sold out show. 5 minutes later, I was on the right side balcony with a full view of the main stage- only two people in front of me (lucily, they were short). There was no re-entry. But since the performance was so.... (lost for words, but in a good way), I forgot I was a social smoker (only when I'm drinking) and never even thought to go outside for a smoke and meet some fellow fans. Seriously- didn't even cross my mind, until the show was over. And then, all I wanted to do was sit in the audtitorium and bask in the happy afterglow the band left on the stage, and on the floor, and in the bathroom and on the ceilings- it was everywhere...and I don't do drugs. That damn good. Awesome light/video show- if you're a fan of Scott's artwork- it was well put together and complimented the music perfectly.

  • Spectacular.

I honestly enjoyed this show, thoroughly. The location could not have been more exciting, as I don't often get a chance to visit both Manhattan and my friends from New York often, so Webster Hall ended up being the perfect location for an ambient group like Tycho. The lighting and sound quality was fit to a tee with the music, and the crowd was definitely enjoying the overall feeling of the concert. I would most certainly come back to Manhattan and more specifically Webster Hall for future concerts.

Tycho killed it. The music, visuals, projections, humbleness, appreciation, passion, excitement...were all what made this show one of my all time favorite. It was one of the smallest shows I've seen but blew away the more known names spending millions on their tours.

The show was beyond my expectations. Having a backup band definitely added to the depth and richness of Tycho's complex soundscapes.

TYCHO was insanely beautiful. I haven't felt so good in awhile. he played all the things i wanted to hear. "hours" and "costal brake" back to back was definitely the highlight for me. too bad the crowd was frozen solid :/ people were barely dancing although my friend and I managed to get the people around us moving :D Tycho is ideal dancing music to all who don't know. check it out if you have the chance. maybe next time at NERO people won't be so stone cold nov 4th everyone webster hall

  • Tycho is who the Gods book for shows

by GortisKhan on 10/18/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Tycho's sounds is huge. Just absolutely beautiful soundscapes backed by his aesthetically planned and wonderfully executed iso50 visual displays. The live band was something I was slightly nervous for, as I had seen several other artists (i.e Toro and Washed Out) who use a band for their live performance, which generally changes the feel for a lot of the bedroom sound production. However, I thought the instruments were used in a tasteful manner. Although not as tight as it could have been, as there were definitely areas that need to be cleaned up, it still sounded great. The thing I loved most about finally getting to see Tycho was the intimacy and connectedness of this show. When you listen to this on record, you may think that God himself is conjuring up these moments of audio bliss, and then you see the man behind it all on stage. Believe it or not Tycho is human, and that's the coolest part; That a mortal person could make these songs and play them live while he is feeling sick and still owning the stage. Tycho will get bigger and bigger, and anyone who was in Brooklyn on Sunday is lucky to have had a glimpse of this set.

  • Band played one of te best sets I've ever seen...

by dustybones on 10/18/11Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Tycho is a remarkable act and the band he now plays with does a great job at adding more rich sound to its body. The back drop (visualization) was also really fun. Tycho is a humble dude and gives you really good vibes.
