The play deviated far from storyline. Other than Santa being on stage did not feel like a Christmas show. Acting was ok. Only positive thing I can say. Overall it was boring and lacked any pizzazz.
If the tickets were $15-20 it would have been ok for 5-7 year olds. Not very exciting & definitely not worth the $46/ticket I paid. Waste of time.
‘Twas the night before Christmas had a little different twist than expected, but the show was lots of fun! The actors were on point, with beautiful voices that kept us engaged during dialogue and song. It is a definite must see if you get a chance!
I hadn’t been to Casa Manana in a few years (like at least 10 😐) and I love the changes since my last visit. Very nice comfortable seating, great view from any seat (as always) and an amazing cast! It was the first theatre visit for my almost 2 year old grand daughter and she was mesmerized and surprisingly engaged for a good portion of the show. We will be back for more!
It was a great show! Wonderful music, best Christmas show Casa has had in a while. Loved it!
Your Santa Claus is THE BEST!!! Especially while talking pictures with the kids. He takes his time and he actually talks to them. He notices little things like a little girl's ear rings. He gets out of the chair and down on his knees to greet the kids. He has to be THE REAL SANTA!!!!!
What a great production! The story line, singing, dancing, and overall performance was so good! Casa Manana never disappoints!
The kids really enjoyed it. The actors were great! Only complaint is that the seats are a little uncomfortable. Other than that it was a lovely experience.
We saw some poor reviews when we were buying the tickets, but thought that it would nevertheless be fun to take our daughters to a Christmas show and we liked the one performance we had seen at Casa Manana in the past. We all really enjoyed the show. It was great for our young children, and the adults all loved it as well. Great songs and dancing, creative and different story line. Highly recommended, really well done.
Lots of fun upbeat songs and dancing. My 1-1/2 year old really enjoyed it. Timing was great - 30 minutes of singing and dancing, intermission and then the final 30 minutes of the program. Great for kids and their short attention spans.
The show was simply fantastic! The singing was great, dancing was exceptional and the story line was very heartwarming. I had to hold the tesrs back at the end because it was so touching. I'm so glad we went and it was just the perfect family thing to do for the holidays!
This event is very good for families with 3 yr olds up to 10 yr olds in my opinion. It is a nice way to expose your children to a show, and yet do it in an environment where it is ok if they move around or talk a little. The vocals and acting was strong.....story-line was acceptable, not incredibly strong, but again.....very nice for those of us with families.
Thank you for making this sweet and truly family friendly this year...after last year we almost did not return!
This was an variety show for young performers with very little theme running through. Shows in the past have been much better for children at Christmas. Performers were talented but the show lack the usual zing.
It was our first visit to Casa Manana. We've been to the Bass Hall several times and didn't know quite what to expect at Casa Manana but we believe we'll be back. Perhaps it was that the show was in part a children's event, but it would have been nice to have an option to sit in an 'adult area'. Although we love kids and hope to take our own grandkids to a next event, we were not prepared for the number children crying around us. The musical performance was truly enjoyable. We also feel it is noteworthy to say that the parking arrangement has been the easiest for us to get out of in a large crowd. We loved the ease of the in and out access. Also, we have been interested in getting season tickets but can't seem to find the how to other than sold out messages.
This was our first experience at Casa Manana. I was unfamiliar with this production and did not know what to expect. As it turns out, the play itself is a very flimsy plot with frequent breaks for traditional Christmas songs and dancing. In my opinion the show would have been just as enjoyable if it had been presented as a variety show without the forced writing of the play itself. That being said, I thought all the performers did a wonderful job. The Singing and choreography were topnotch, with several standout performances from the male quartet that sings throughout the show, Santa's assistant and others that escape my memory at the moment. I also want to recognize the efforts of the two elves, Jingle and Jangle, who provide the bulk of the narration of the play. They were did a great job with their roles and I wonder how much it hurt their throats to talk in the voices that they used for their characters. They were truly the real stars of the show and showed a great understanding of appealing to young children in attendance. My understanding is that Casa Manana uses a large amount of local talent in their productions and this particular effort was done through their Children's workshop. What a great training ground for future members of this profession. I would highly recommend supporting Casa Manana's continued efforts to showcase local talent at affordable prices.
I believe the MOST ENTERTAINING Christmas show I've ever seen. (And I'm OLD!) Dancing superb. Men's quartet exceptional!
I took my four year old son for a mommy and son Christmas outing. Very friendly, clean and had a great time. We will definitely be going back for other performances.
Wonderful family Christmas musical... Both kids- boys aged 5 and 9 loved it. We will see it again next year if we can. Great singers and dancers!
