    Nicely executed

by jeanegenie on 11/7/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The layout and execution of this exhibit was wonderful. I would have liked to see more of King Tut's items, however I realize that there are limits in what Egypt lets out of the country.

The exhibit and the audio tour were wonderful. I am so glad we were able to see all of the artifacts and hear the stories behind them.

    Very Interesting

by wolflover89 on 11/7/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the King Tut exhibit. I found the information fascinating and the displays interesting. I was slightly disappointed that there weren't actual mummies there on display, but other than that I enjoyed the exhibit and would definitely recommend others to go see it.

    The Golden King!!

by ClanoPowell on 11/5/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

I'm always enthralled with Egyptian history and this exhibit is worth every moment. There are stone carvings that are incredible and the presentation of each piece is dramatic. Using the audio tour was the best to hear about the details of the discoveries and etc.

    King Tut Exhibit

by bsnbad on 11/4/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

Quite frankly I was dissapointed with the exhibit as a whole. I expected more showing of Tutankhamun artifacts, his tumb etc.

Good setup in how they did the display, with the leadup to the Tut artifacts.

    Disappointing

by CDAnce on 11/1/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

Not as many artificats as I was hoping. Started off great and then fizzled even with the large statue of King Tut at the end, which was great.

    Tutankhamun was very moving

by BasaltCO on 11/1/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

Having been entranced by King Tut since childhood, to see, to be so close, to feel the era in which the Pharaoh's lived was just amazing. The audio portions were just right; to remind us of just how evolved this civilization was on one hand and how indulgent on the other. Loved it!

KIng Tut and Akhnaten Statues in Denver? Too Cool

by mrtkm on 11/1/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

Marvelous exhibit and such a nice flow from room to room. Photo backdrops helped set the scene of Carter's discoveries many years ago. The audio tour was highly informative.

    Tutankhamun was wonderful

by wkmyr on 11/1/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

We enjoyed the exhibit more than we expected. Friends had come from Albuquerque just to see Tutankhamun and we were very impressed with the way it was presented. It showed both the spectacular find of his tomb but also presented much information on the whole Pharaohs period in history. The likelihood that only 30% of what could be discovered about the Pharaohs has been found leads one to believe that there will be more such exhibits in the future. Well done!!

Really not much about Tut. Most pieces about the time period in general.

Even though the exhibit was only half of the full Tutankhamun exhibit (the other half is in New York) it was a great cultural experience.

    dissapointed

by sam100000 on 10/30/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

We were very dissapointed there there weren't more items from King Tuts tomb. We at least expected the death mask to be there, just a few items of jewelery, a couple of pieces of furniture and a game were about it

    Tut in Denver

by leevee on 10/30/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The artifacts brought from Egypt were magnificent and for the most part well displayed in 11 galleries. It was a little annoying, however, to have to break in the middle of concentration and walk down a flight of stairs to the next part of the exhibit. I expected more from the museum in the way of presentation.

    a stunning exhibit

by katzenjammer on 10/29/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

This is a fabulous show - not only for the artifacts of material culture, but for the depth of organization creating a historical context for the brief reign of King Tut. I do wish there had been a little more attention to the actual archaeological process in the Valley of Kings, but what was represented was sufficient for the exhibition's purposes. It was touching to see some of the everyday objects associated with Tut (a chair, and a bed). The accompanying audio tour was well worth the additional expense, as it added more depth to the available exhibit captions.

    beware the competition

by kuelu on 10/29/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The exhibit was misrepresented. The beautiful sarchophagus in the lead picture is still in Egypt! And I had to compete with hundreds of students to see the same items. I was never informed that this would happen! Wish I had saved the money for a trip to Egypt to see the real thing!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the King Tut exhibit, even my teenagers! We learned new information about the Pharoahs and the Egyptian culture of that time. The audio tour was great, loved the "cell phone" style system as opposed to the old headsets (yuck). Highly recommend this exhibit.

    Tut almost wasn't there

by Anonymous on 10/28/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

I am a big fan of Egyptian antiquities. There were just a couple of artifacts from Tut's tomb. The Golden mask wasn't there. A nice tour/show of Egyptian pharaohs, but the title was misleading. Would not have gone if I had known Tut was really not the main focus of the exhibition.
