Overall great experience. Getting shuttled in was quicker than expected. Line getting shuttled out was longer than expected, but it wasn't that bad. Decided to get a reserved seating area at the last minute. I think that's the way to go. We had a great view and it happened to be at show center. Will try to get same seating if we go back next year.
The event needs more information available to the public, we bought reserved seating tickets, and when we arrived they turned out to be a painted square box in the grass,, no one informed us that we needed to bring chairs to sit in, hence why we purchased reserved SEATING not reserved square in the grass, even though some chairs were there to rent for $20.00 each,, the show was outstanding. But the information provided is sub-par.
Overall the show was good, but the stunt people did too many of the same things. Got tired of watching them. The first show Tuscaloosa ever had was the best! Stunts were different and having food brought to you instead of leaving the show to go get it in another area. Why pay for $10 meal and then only be able to use 7 of it?? They don't have to give change back, but you should be allowed to use it at another food place. Like a hamburger without fries??? Also having the drink bar set up at your Chalet is much better!!
The event was awesome!!! The bus situation was very unorganized and there were 4 different lines that were going to the Kmart on Saturday. People were very upset because lines were merging with people who have been standing in line for an hour and then the people merging just walked up. It was a disaster!! You would think that since the event is getting bigger and bigger they would have areas roped off for the busses when leaving the event.
The air show was very good and worth seeing. Unfortunately, the weather was much colder/windier than we expected, so that made it a long day. Some negatives: It was a long hike from the entrance gates to the static displays. Also, it was over an hour's wait to get a shuttle bus back to the K-Mart parking lot where we parked. The lines for shuttles going to other parking areas moved much faster than ours. Since it was so windy, cold, and starting to rain, it was truly miserable and kind of ruined the experience. Also, the lines were very long and not clearly marked out, so a lot of folks got in a line only to find they were in the wrong line and would have to start over again at the back of the line. Hopefully next time they will allocate more buses to the larger parking lots, and organize the lines better. Everything else about the show was very good, it just would have been nicer if the displays weren't so far away and getting people back to their cars had been better coordinated.
Loved to see the pilot skills. Will go back again. Don't forget sun lotion and something comfortable to sit on.
Where else can you get so much amazing entertainment for all ages for five bucks??? The Blue Angels are obviously incredible, but all the other shows are just as fascinating. Thank you Tuscaloosa for providing such affordable awesome fun!
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are the most exciting airshow ever. We have seen them many times at different airshow venues and at practice sessions at the Pensacola NAS in Florida. We never tire of the spectacular flying these brave young soldiers perform. We thank them and all of our military for their service.
Wonderful experience. Tuscaloosa was so organized! Planes were amazing and Blue Angels were very approachable.
The entire event was amazing, particularly seeing the maneuverability of the aircraft - both small and large planes, and especially the Blue Angels with only 18 inches between these giants. It was an unforgettable experience, and I'll definitely see them again.
This was a great and enjoyable event for the whole family. It is very entertaining. The variety of different types of aircraft from the different eras gives you an idea of how technology has advanced through the years. We purchased the reserved seating that was $50 for 5 tickets and your own 10 x 10 square of land. You take your own chairs and set it up. The wife had never been to an air show - and is now chomping at the bit to go again!
The main event Blue Angles were breathtaking as well as the F22Raptor. All other flights were great also
A fun-filled day of exciting and educational aviation facts and demonstrations! The Blues never get old and I really enjoyed seeing them fly!
Great job by the people that planned, worked and performed at the air show on Sunday. USAF F-22 vs. US Navy Blue Angles, what a showdown. Great collection of older aircraft and the air square tickets were the best buy.
The airshow was outstanding. The only thing I can think of that I would change up is- DO NOT SEPERATE THE STATIC DISPLAYS FROM THE REST OF TVE CONCESSIONS AND SHOW!
The F-22 was amazing and the Blue Angels exceeded all expectations. However, the information leading up to the show was children under 2 were free and when we arrived the information at the event showed children under 12 were free.I even noticed a post on the Tuscaloosa Regional Air Show Facebook page on the day of the first show, showing children under 12 were free. Our group paid for 5 children under the age of 12 based on my purchase and incorrect information i found leading up to the show, including information found on TicketMaster.
A well-organized, exciting airshow with a huge static display area of fly-ins from all over the country. I will go next year!
The Tuscaloosa Regional Airshow was an enjoyable family outing--especially the Blue Angels,who were five kinds of awesome! However,the biggest drawback was the pricey concessions. If you are on a budget, a seven dollar hamburger is a bit much;this is especially true if you have five or six people in your group. My suggestion: eat before you go and spend the money on a cool souvenir. An alternative would be to buy food there and take lots of pictures as instant souvenirs. You could always eat after the show as well. That only works,however,if you are totally immune to the smell of funnel cake. Otherwise, a good time was had by all.
Event was outstanding. Lots of food and fun. Great for the kids.
