LOVED the show!!! Can't wait until the show returns next year.
I attended airshow for years at Maxwell Airforce Base in Montgomery and absolutely loved the experience. The set up at Tuscaloosa regional is rediculous. The events at Maxwell was free and seating was first come first serve, while I am certainly more than willing to pay a small fee for entrance, the other items is where this event really failed. A one hour wait for a drink, food, or even the Porta potty is pathetic. Not to mention the one and a half hour wait to boar a bus back to your car since they cut out parking at the airport. I have attended this event twice and without MAJOR changes, this will be my last.
They were totally unprepared for the crowd. Lines were at least 30 mins for everything. 30 mins for a hot dog. 30 mins for the ATM. 30 mins for bath room. 45 waiting to leave. Spent a majority of my time waiting and missing the show. What I saw of the show was nice. Way over priced. 4 dollars for a hotbdog. 7 for a hamburger. That doesn't include anything with it. It was 7 dollars for a hot dog and drink.. Plus had to wait in separate lines for food and drinks. This place cost more for than a football game. Terribl .
Loved that there was parking for handicap vans, it meant a lot to my husband. Thought the show was wonderful, but also thought the food was a little pricey. If a family goes, it can cost a fortune to eat for the day, as you are not allowed to bring in your own food or drink.
I liked maybe the first, second to last, and last act. The F-22 Raptor was amazing along with the Mustang and the Blue Angels had a very daring stunt. So far, great airshow but I did not like the very long bus lines, people jumping the exit lines, and the unorganization of departure. Also, consider serving hot drinks when dealing with cooler than average weather.
The airshow was great as expected. Especially the Blue Angels and the F-22 Raptor. The concessions were not good. The location of the stands created foot traffic snarls with long lines. Centerplate was a poor choice to handle concessions. Food was still frozen when they were trying to cook it. Missed an entire segment of the show waiting on a 7 dollar hamburger. High school booster clubs could have done a better job. The shuttle buses worked good for those of us that were parked near the airport.
For the amount of people in attendance, I would have thought to have more concession vendors and portable bathrooms to accommodate. Lines were a 40 minute wait.....Poor planning by someone
