About the Tulsa Oilers at BOK Center
The Tulsa Oilers are a member of the ECHL, a mid-level professional hockey league. The team plays at the Bank of Oklahoma Center, located right in Tulsa, just east of Interstate 244. The capacity of the BOK Center is over 17,000 for hockey games, and besides the Oilers, the complex hosts arena football matches, basketball games and concerts. The arena is a stunning structure, and the flagship project of Tulsa County's Vision 2025 development initiative. The Oilers are affiliated with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Despite the suspended 2019-20 season, the Oilers remain one of the top teams in the ECHL, making it all the way to the Conference Finals in 2018-19 before being ousted in seven games by the Toledo Walleye. Fans at the stadium can expect a luxury experience, with 14 concession outlets spread across the arena, seven of which host restaurants and establishments local to the Tulsa area. Additionally, the interior hallways are lined with art and artifacts, some paying tribute to the rich Native American past of Oklahoma.
Tulsa Oilers Background
The Tulsa Oilers have been operating in some capacity since 1928, when they joined the five-team American Hockey Association. Hockey Hall of Famer Clint Smith played the 1947-48 season with the Tulsa Oilers after a career in the NHL with the New York Rangers and Chicago Black Hawks. From 1964 to 1984, the Oilers were a member of the Central Hockey League (CHL), where they were champions in 1968, 1976 and 1984. After the league folded, the Oilers joined a newly formed CHL in 1992, where they remained until 2014, when they moved to the ECHL as part of a group of expansion teams. In 2015, the Oilers were affiliated with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL and the Winnipeg Jets of the NHL, and later with the St. Louis Blues of the NHL. The Oilers’ three-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks and San Diego Gulls began during the 2020-21 season.
Never a bad seat in the arena when watching a home hockey game. Always a great time!!
We sat in section 111 row K. Great seats. Easy to get to facility as it right of I244. Not so easy to leave and head east.
My daughter and I love coming out to see the oilers play.
I had such a great time a the game! Not my first and definitely not my last! I would like to go to more but the only time I have been able to go is with the one you redeem. I have also have got tickets from people that could not attend themselves and I am extremely grateful for them! I have had an awesome time at every game I have attended. I’m a loud fan and I think we have some work with the roar in the stands! Let’s go Tulsa Oilers!!
We went to our first game last weekend & im already going back this week.
This was my 60-year-old fiancé's first hockey game. She's hooked! We'll be coming back for more. She was thoroughly entertained from the first face-off to the last slap-shot. We were just 4 rows from the glass and could really feel the impact of the players on it.
I haven’t attended a hockey game in years (since I lived in Phoenix) now that I have a family I wanted to do something different with my children. Well it was a hit, they absolutely had a blast and have asked when the next game is? It looks like this could be our new thing to do together.
I took my 2 year old for his birthday and we both had a blast! I was nervous but the lights, action, dancing, singing and cheering kept his interest and made for a super fun night! We also chowed on some nachos and cheese..he love it! Next time I'll bring a bib. Hes already asking when can we go to "the game" again. :)
Have a hard time hearing the announcer in down front seats. Other than that, we enjoyed the game even though we lost. ;>(
The game was very exciting and you guys are the best in event pricing.
This is a great venue to see a minor league hockey game. The Tulsa Oilers are in the ECHL and they play a very high level of hockey. Games are played in The BOK Center in downtown Tulsa and it’s a fun place to see a game. The night I went they had a large crowd, maybe 7,000 fans. I just enjoyed the whole experience. And the tickets were very inexpensive.
Me and my family sat near the front and had an absolute blast. I would recommend watching this team to anybody. The Oilers played their hearts out and earned themselves a fan in me.
I had never been to the BOK to watch the Oilers play, my mom and I have been to other arenas to watch and enjoyed it. Friday night we sat front row and watched the Oilers play their hearts out even though we were robbed the win! Loved it so much bought season tickets and you for sure made an Oiler fan out of me!
We were disappointed with the pregame music. We have young children and the song choices were inappropriate for them.
My grandkids are young 3 and 20 months but they love the atmosphere and was clapping and dancing about the whole time we was at the game. Everyone was super friendly and very patient around us. We always look forward to being able to attend a game or two.
Love hockey nothing more to say .....................
I was so excited to go to this game! It was my first time to a live hockey game, and it did NOT disappoint. I bought the tickets for my boyfriend as his Christmas present and he was thrilled. Popcorn and frozen lemonade and beer was amazing. The fans were amazing. The teams were amazing. Just amazing.
Oilers hockey is a fun time for the whole family. Adult spectators get a good game and there are lots of extras to keep kids engaged. My daughter loves the music, cherrleaders, cheering and food. Its a great event that entertains everyone.
Been to two Oilers games now and this one was more enjoyable because the Oilers won but the overall experience is high on my list of things I will do more than three or four times a year, living over 100 miles away and all. Awesome venue, great ticket prices, fair prices and great values on concessions. Will be back soon.
We had a great time at the Oilers game. Really decent hockey competition. Lots of families there so it wasn't a bunch of drunk rowdies. It was so cool to see the Stanley Cup displayed at the game! Bonus: we had great seats and awesome arena food.
