About the Tulsa Oilers at BOK Center
The Tulsa Oilers are a member of the ECHL, a mid-level professional hockey league. The team plays at the Bank of Oklahoma Center, located right in Tulsa, just east of Interstate 244. The capacity of the BOK Center is over 17,000 for hockey games, and besides the Oilers, the complex hosts arena football matches, basketball games and concerts. The arena is a stunning structure, and the flagship project of Tulsa County's Vision 2025 development initiative. The Oilers are affiliated with the San Diego Gulls of the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Despite the suspended 2019-20 season, the Oilers remain one of the top teams in the ECHL, making it all the way to the Conference Finals in 2018-19 before being ousted in seven games by the Toledo Walleye. Fans at the stadium can expect a luxury experience, with 14 concession outlets spread across the arena, seven of which host restaurants and establishments local to the Tulsa area. Additionally, the interior hallways are lined with art and artifacts, some paying tribute to the rich Native American past of Oklahoma.
Tulsa Oilers Background
The Tulsa Oilers have been operating in some capacity since 1928, when they joined the five-team American Hockey Association. Hockey Hall of Famer Clint Smith played the 1947-48 season with the Tulsa Oilers after a career in the NHL with the New York Rangers and Chicago Black Hawks. From 1964 to 1984, the Oilers were a member of the Central Hockey League (CHL), where they were champions in 1968, 1976 and 1984. After the league folded, the Oilers joined a newly formed CHL in 1992, where they remained until 2014, when they moved to the ECHL as part of a group of expansion teams. In 2015, the Oilers were affiliated with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL and the Winnipeg Jets of the NHL, and later with the St. Louis Blues of the NHL. The Oilers’ three-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks and San Diego Gulls began during the 2020-21 season.

What an amazing evening! All the Pre-Game extras of the 501st and costumes were amazing! So many photo ops and everyone was so very nice and polite. All of the staff at the BOK that I interacted with were exceptional and deserve a big fat raise! Thank you for an experience that me and my family will never forget!!!!!
Star Wars night- we arrived on hour early and light sabers were gone! They should have been saved for children like the game jerseys were given out! Grown adults had 3 or 4 of them not needed!! Game was boring and disappointing when that was the highlight and planned for a month!
Love the sport of hockey and Tulsa Oilers have a rich history here.
Was a cold night outside but the hockey on the ice was on fire! Was a great night of entertainment and fun watching the match on the rink.
The game was great but buying tickets thru ticket masters absolutely sucks !!
Using ticket master is so easy and painless. Will definitely use in the future.
I went to the Oilers vs Mavericks hockey game on April 7, 2023 at the BOK in Tulsa. The game was great to watch and it was the first I have ever attended one of the Oiler games. I had a lower level seat behind one of the goalie areas. I had parking across the street from the arena in a parking deck so that was very convenient. I booked it through a parking app ahead of time. Ticket purchase was easy and I felt like the pricing was fairly reasonable. Entry into the game was via mobile tickets on a phone app. It was easy and the line moved quickly. I didn't buy anything from the concessions area so I don't have any feedback for that. The one thing that I really did not like however was the fact that the venue allowed derogatory signs by fans to be displayed to the visiting team as well as the referees for the game. One guy in a seat at the glass had a sign with a lighted edge that said "You suck" which he displayed to visiting players as they exited ice close to his seating area. And when he wasn't happy with a call by the referee he unfolded an extra portion of the same sign so the sign read "Ref you suck." There were also a few other signs displayed both other attendees throughout the arena at various times. Those signs are extremely derogatory, done in bad form from a sportsmanship perspective, and just plain rude. I would always feel like they were inappropriate, but since the game had a lot of families in attendance I think that sets a very bad example for the kids in the audience. I think the venue should deny entry to those individuals, or at least confiscate the signs prior to entry. Bad manners are uncalled for, and I think adults should be responsible enough to set good examples for kids in attendance.
Had a really great time and the game was fantastic. We'll be going to more games in the future.
We had a great time celebrating the Oilers OT victory against the Rush! Concessions were delicious, facilities were clean, and seats were easily accessible. Overall wonderful experience and we'll definitely be back.
So much fun to watch in person. We will be back to catch another game!
Great experience, fun environment, excellent venue.
Boring. Don’t know how else to describe it. The game was scoreless until only 10 minutes remained. Then the other team scored three times in five minutes. That’s not really what bothered me though. What bothered me was not a soul cared. Meat in the seats the entire night. I’ve seen more excitement at a bingo hall. 🤷♀️
Excellent and fun experience…… all ways a good time
I had emergency heart surgery the day before games and didn’t get to go to them. Spent the money for nothing.
This was my first Tulsa Oilers game, but not my first professional hockey game, and I have to say this the crowd was amazing and different than any NHL game that I’ve ever been to. It’s kind of hard to express, but it was very interactive with the crowd and the cheerleaders. Now let’s talk hockey.…….. the referees did not let them fight. They always broke it up fast, but I will tell you this they hit harder up against the glass than any NHL team I have watched live. This will not be my last Oilers game. I can promise you that.
We had an awesome time at the hockey game. It was our first time ever watching a live hockey game. The staff was awesome at the BOK Center and everything was well laid out. The game was a close one and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We plan on attending many more here.
Went with nephew. Great seats! Sat by some great people. The game was fantastic! Recommend sitting by the glass. Got out quickly from the stadium. No complaints.
Games were great. PA system was horrible. Announcer could Bot be understood at all. Several in our section had the same complaint.
This was my first in-person hockey experience, and it was amazing! The tickets were well priced for being three rows from the window divider. The game was fast paced and very fun to watch, and to top it all off, the Oilers WON!
