About

Directed by Haydn Green from Hear My Eyes, experience the Coen brothers’ Texas noir thriller No Country for Old Men paired with the riotous, mad, psych-punk sounds from Tropical Fuck Storm (Gareth Liddiard, Fiona Kitschin, Lauren Hammel and Erica Dunn) as they perform their original score live on stage alongside the film screening.

The Academy Award-winning No Country for Old Men, starring Javier Bardem, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Kelly Macdonald and Woody Harrelson as worn individuals living in 1980’s West Texas, follows the merciless killer Anton Chigurh in a violent, poetic and intensely gripping reimagining of Cormac McCarthy’s 2005 novel. It is widely regarded as the Coen brothers’ best film.

Following numerous sold-out shows at the Arts Centre Melbourne in 2018, this is a visceral psych-punk explosion and match made in heaven.

"It was a measure of the concept’s success that much of the time it was easy to forget that TFS were even there at all. Their score enhanced the film and didn’t overtake it. They succeeded magnificently in creating a better film experience." DAILY REVIEW

TFS rolled into Summerville MA with no regard for public safety. Lillard and his gang of gale force punkers blasted a new hole in the world of live punk performances. This band was raw, direct, and brutal. They brought every song with an energy like a typhoon. They focused their setlist on their latest fare and provided full satisfaction for the enthralled fans who were thrown around in the mosh pit like so many boards ripped off the windows of the coastal village. They wreaked distruction like a giant Kaiju, lit up by a signal flare. They didn't disappoint. They played hard. Lillard broke several strings. The Hammer nailed everything down while while hurricane Fiona dropped wave after wave down low with perfect tone and rhythm. It was a Dunn deal with high powered delivery from the guitars and effect coming from stage right. It's rare to see so much power blow in from Down Under all the way to New England. I will definitely be caught up in the Storm next time they ravage Massachusetts.
