Trippie Redd In Concert

When rapper Trippie Redd, aka Michael White, gets in front of an audience, it's less a performance and more a raw, unbridled parade of emotions. He reaches deep down to access his most intense feelings and share them with his audience. The passion, hatred, hope, mistrust, joy, sadness, anger, and love in his heart is laid bare for all to see. And of course, in the process, he trots out tunes that went viral and made him a million-selling artist before he was out of his teens, including such crowd-pleasers as "Love Scars," "Dark Knight Dummo," and "Taking a Walk." With a sound that blends hip-hop flow, R&B grooves, and moody alt-rock atmosphere, Trippie Redd is able to attract audiences from across the genre spectrum. He delivers a show full of urgency, intensity, and a visceral dose of street reality as it is experienced in America today.

Trippie Redd Background

Like so many who grabbed the brass ring before him, Trippie Redd came from humble circumstances but created a musical approach that endeared him to millions. He was born Michael White in Canton, Ohio, to an incarcerated father and a mother who had to shoulder the burden of parenthood alone. The budding performer soaked in the sounds of ‘90s R&B and hip-hop from his mother, and those influences fed his own musical vision, which revealed itself at an early age. By the time he was 17, Trippie Redd had released his first mixtape, 2017's ‘A Love Letter to You,' which busted through to the Billboard charts despite its indie origins. By the time 2018 rolled around, the precocious performer had himself a couple of platinum singles ("Love Scars" and "Dark Knight Dummo") and a No. 3 mixtape, ‘A Love Letter to You 3.' That same year, he got around to releasing his first full-length LP, ‘Life's a Trip,' taking it all the way to No. 4 on the Hot 100.

Trippie redd puts on an amazing show. I was so excited and it was everything I could’ve dreamed of it being. The energy is amazing and the hype is unreal.

    1st concert

by Brooke Rosin on 2/28/20The Ritz - Raleigh

it was som much fun!! since it was my first concert i really didn’t know what to expect, except from what people have told me. i felt safe bc of the security guards handling all the craziness. but i wish the stage passed more water back given I was very close to the front but since it was so hot i wish there was an easier way to get water other than giving up your spot or waiting til the stage passed back water. but over all it was AWESOME!!

    Trippie trash

by Rap breakdown on 2/28/20The Ritz - Raleigh

This event was very disappointing, seeing as Trippie Redds performance was delayed significantly and once he arrived on stage he seemed to not care very much about the situation at hand. Over all this was an over priced club more than a Trippie Redd concert.

    Could have been better

by Springwitch on 2/27/20House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

When purchasing tickets for House of Blues it is kind of deceiving! It is standing room only for the entire venue. I attended this bringing my teenager for her first concert experience. There was an upstairs and a downstairs. We were on the second level. When purchasing tickets, the ticket gives a seating letter and number when there is in fact no seating at all. Where they sold merchandise was on the lower level. I had to leave my teenager alone (for fear of her loosing her standing position on the rail) to go down escorted to purchase an over priced sweatshirt. Trippie Redd I must say was wonderful when he finally appeared on stage but then...... he stepped of for a long break where people where almost ready to leave. I do understand that preforming takes quite a bit of energy but the break is wasn’t expected. My teenager loved it. Me on the other hand being older would have liked seating. I didn’t understand House of Blues was and is standing room only.

    Love him so much

by T. E. on 2/25/20The Dome at Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

I don’t care what anyone says about being in the pit. There was a lot of pushing and some people were very hostile but that’s to be expected in a such a small space. I could barely have my phone out to record or take pictures but I still had so much fun being in the moment. Will definitely be seeing trippie again next time he’s here. ❤️

    Boston

by M. A. on 2/23/20House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

Loved the opening acts, Trippie took forever and it was a bummer. Definitely overcrowded and no crowd control. Wish I didn’t spend as much considered he took an hour to even come out. But overall I love the house of blues it was my second time there definitely not my last, just will be seeing someone else next time and hopefully I won’t have to wait as long for them to perform

    Trippie Redd/House of Blues

by Hayley M on 2/22/20House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

It was a great experience. My boyfriend and I love Trippie Redd so it was obvious we would have a great time. The house of blues is always an amazing spot for concerts. We had an amazing night. I am 8 months pregnant and a staff member was super kind and helpful and moved us from a rowdy spot to an amazing seat so we could be comfortable! I was so thankful! We have been there many times and we will come back to house of blues again. Even though we felt like the oldest ones there that night at the ripe age of 27 lol.

by G on 2/22/20House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

He was good but he had every body wait for 2 hours just to disappear after 15 mins . . . And come back in 45 again.

Jump around and shout along with a background track

by Flash on 2/22/20House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

The good, my kid was super excited and I was blessed to share the experience. But, Guess I'm old. I prefer live performers to perform, not jump around and shout along with the studio track when they feel like it. Even doing that these contemporary acts are only lively the first couple verses of each song then they look winded. The DJ did better job of hyping the crowd during the overly long intermissions than any of the featured acts. Much like the Post Malone show I spent way to much to bring my kid to. I think these artists are a flash in the pan. Selling kids tickets just to be in their presence with no real or impressive performance going on.

by SadieL on 2/17/20The Fillmore Detroit presented by Cricket Wireless - Detroit

Amazing show. Didn’t take forever to come out as some rapper do and then only perform less then an hour. Trippie Redd was awesome! It was hype the whole time! He even stayed longer and partied with us some more! I can’t wait to meet him & go to his next show. If you get the chance or opportunity to go see him live DO IT!
