About

The Tri-City Dust Devils are a minor league baseball team based in Pasco, Washington. They play in the Northwest League. The team's colors are navy blue, gold and white, and their mascot goes by the name Dusty. They are affiliated with the Los Angeles Angels, with previous ties to the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies.

The Dust Devils play their home games at Gesa Stadium, which is located in Pasco, Washington. The stadium opened in 1995 and has a seating capacity of 3,654. Gesa Stadium, named after the local financial institution Gesa Credit Union, is known for being one of the most affordable ballparks in the country, with tickets and concessions priced lower than the average minor league stadium. The stadium has hosted other events besides baseball, including concerts and community events.

The Dust Devils have a notable history with several achievements. In their debut season of 2001, they achieved a commendable record of 39-36, securing a second-place finish in the north division standings. Despite having a losing record, Tri-City managed to capture their first division title in 2007. The Dust Devils faced off against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in the championship, but succumbed to their opposition in the four-game series.

In 2015, the Dust Devils concluded their longstanding partnership with the Colorado Rockies and entered into a player development contract with the San Diego Padres. Their success continued in 2019 when they triumphed in the division finals, defeating Spokane along the way. However, their journey ended with a loss to the Hillsboro Hops in the championship series.

Prior to the emergence of the Dust Devils, the Tri-Cities region had seen the establishment of several teams in the Northwest League and its predecessor, the Western International League. From 1950 to 1955, the Tri-City Braves proudly represented the area as a member of the WIL. Following that, the Tri-Cities remained involved in baseball, with different teams representing the region until 1974. Unfortunately, baseball was absent from the Tri-Cities until 1983, when the Tri-Cities Triplets were formed. However, their presence was short-lived, lasting only until 1986. Another notable team that graced the Tri-Cities area was the Tri-City Posse, which competed in the independent Western Baseball League from 1995 to 2000.
