TREY ANASTASIO IN CONCERT:

Trey Anastasio's music transcends the walls of traditional rock -- whether he's leading the band Phish with his unique vocals or composing original licks on his Martin guitar, Anastasio proves his virtuosity as an extremely well-rounded musician. Although he's played alongside a diverse group of acts ranging from Dave Matthews to the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Anastasio always returns to his roots as a guitarist and composer, captivating audiences with his grand use of arpeggios and improvisation at his live shows. Hitting the road with a number of different bands, Anastasio will treat fans to hit-filled sets on his highly anticipated summer tour dates.Ā

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Texas, Trey Anastasio got his start in college as the frontman of legendary jam band Phish, performing at local house parties for fellow classmates. The band rose to fame in the late '80s with their cult debut Phish (The White Tape), and eleven more albums followed over the course of their three-decade career. During the band's run, Anastasio released ten solo records, including an orchestral album and a collaboration between Primus' Les Claypool (bass) and Police's Stewart Copeland (drums) called Oysterhead. Not only has he had an expansive collection of hits, but he's also dabbled in chamber music and scoring for theater, composing a number of orchestral pieces and penning music for the Broadway musical Hands on a Hardbody. Anastasio has a packed summer tour ahead, and he's sure to delight fans as he performs with the Trey Anastasio Band, Phish, and the LA Philharmonic.

    by Slyguy1017 on 11/21/22EagleBank Arena - Fairfax

What can you say - Trey and Goose together and then the special guest appearance of Billy Strings? This show is now very high on my all time list. Also - Eagle Bank Arena let them go later than other venues.

    Amazing

by EJ on 11/20/22EagleBank Arena - Fairfax

Treyā€™s Band and Goose played in various formations from about 7:45 PM until 10 minutes till midnight. Rumors abounded that Billy Strings would be there. And when he walked on the stage, the crowd went crazy. They played much longer than anticipated and everyone was absolutely thrilled and thoroughly filled with the love of music when they left the venue.

Finally a good experience at this venue!

by Fan on 11/18/22UPMC Events Center - Moon Township

I have been to shows at this venue multiple times prior and had bad experiences. I think the venue is slowly resolving issue that present themselves like the parking which was much better this time. Sound quality had been an issue before, I know Trey hires the best and it shows. Let's hope other sound engineer s learn from this. This last show has show me what potential this venue has.

    Exceeded my expectations

by Chris on 11/18/22UPMC Events Center - Moon Township

Went to TAB Goose show having seen TAB and Phish many times, but never have seen Goose. I expected them to be really good from the Nugs.net and YouTube shows, but WoW! They are the real deal!! Thank you to both bands for a greatly needed night. The venue was perfect size. Staff was friendly and helpful. Venue was clean and well organized.

    Love and Light

by MrPhriendly on 11/18/22UPMC Events Center - Moon Township

A coliseum worth of sound perfectly set indoors and underground. Essentially 4 bands with different combinations of two amazing groups. A lot of healing and rejoicing, well worth the Trip, itā€™s time for me to feel alive again! Thank you sir! Taboose is a rare sort of magic, 2-3 Guitars, 2-4 Percussion, 2 keyboards, 2 bass, so much uplifting sound! And well Balanced! Angelic at times! And the hornsā€¦um, I didnā€™t know Sirens played the Trombone, but whew, got a little moist down there! Thanks for the sax!

    Trey Anastasio Band & Goose

by Mike on 11/18/22UPMC Events Center - Moon Township

I think both bands are great but I have to say Trey's band is the bee's knees. I've been listening to Goose quite a lot lately and I like all their music but they played so loud at the show you could not distinguish one instrument from another not to mention my sizzling ears. I don't think the extra volume enhances their style of music at all. However, Trey kept the volume under control and his band was spot on. We could not stop dancing. Awesome !!

    Environment nightmare!! Music was amazing

by Dee on 11/16/22Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

The music and energy from the bands was amazing!!! However, the amount of waste that happened for this show was shameful! Why would you need to pour a water from a plastic water bottle into a paper cup? With every single beverage??? It made the lines outrageous. I will be avoiding this arena. So disappointed! I loved the music though!

    Epic show!

by Nastyfoot on 11/15/22Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Iā€™ve seen a LOT of concerts in my lifetime dating back to the 70ā€™s and this show by far and away was probably my favorite although thatā€™s almost like picking a favorite child. This show ranks amongst the echelonā€™s of those shows in my concert attending experience. The only thing that could be better is if Trey & Goose played a second night. This was a completely epic show and no one moment had a lull. From start to end, high energy.

Amazing Concert But not the Venue!

by Alan C. on 11/15/22Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Goose and TAB are extraordinary!!! Unfortunately we missed the first Goose tune, "Animal" because Mohegan Sun has some wacky rules. The drink vendors have to pour your bottle of water or beer or whatever into paper cups. So a line that should take 5 minutes takes 25 minutes. The entrance to the place is also a cluster. 5 metal detectors for 10,000 people. They're lucky they haven't had a stampede. In the age of COVID people were stacked on top of each other to get in. Great concert! Not a great venue. They could fix the situation by allowing plastic bottles and opening up more entry points.

    Torn between two reviews

by SkyMann on 11/15/22Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Well, let me just say that I didnā€™t leave Mohegan Sun Arena unhappy, but there was an ounce of disappointment. Hereā€™s why: I was sitting behind the stage and there were lights and speakers blocking most of the view. What was most annoying was that the speakers that were turned towards us back there were not even turned on, and so the acoustics were terrible, muffled like hearing through the walls your next door neighbor playing loud music. Iā€™ve sat behind stages at other venues many times before, and this was by far the worst. I understand the visuals will be less-than-optimal, but Iā€™ve never had the acoustics be so bad also. None of us could understand why the speakers turned towards us werenā€™t even turned on. It was very poor form from the venue. (I moved over to the other end of the arena just after TAB came on and the acoustics there were amazing).
