    Great Golf - Pricey Tickets

by Marco on 6/27/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

I was stunned to see the price for a Friday General Admission ticket jumped fr0om $50+ last year (when only 10,000 people a day were allowed) to $74 this year. That was a 40% increase. The question is why? No Fun Zone for the kids, mostly food booths for the adults, no printed tee time sheets, food prices that just increase. I promised my grandson I would take him but unfortunately he got Covid. I will be very hard pressed to pay that amount next year. To give you an idea how out of line the ticket prices are, I am going to the Open Championship next month and the Practice Round Tickets are $60 (50 pounds) and Thursday Tickets are about $75 - the same price I paid to go on Friday at the Travelers. Someone needs to take a hard look at those ticket prices.

    Idyllic

by CTShopper on 6/27/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

The TPC River Highlands is a beautiful course, with lots of shade and great viewing areas. But what made the Travelers an outstanding event, was the incredibly welcoming volunteers. Everyone we spoke to was not only pleasant and ready to help, but also quite knowledgable. We were able to get up close to the golfers and had a great time.

    Great experience for a spectator

by Golf Nut on 6/27/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

The process get tickets on Ticket Master was very easy. Liked that parking was included in the price. Great facilities for spectators, from many food stops to plenty of portable potties. The field at the Travelers is so great you want to be in several places at once. One comment I could make is that the fan experience used to have more interactive things to do and there were more handouts and souvenirs to pick up. I used to bring home a bag full of items from golf balls to hats to more handouts. There was not much this year.

    by S. L. on 6/27/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

Travelers does a fantastic job accommodating the fans and allowing you to get close to the action. Great field of stars stars and rising stars. Beautiful golf course with plenty of viewing locations and stops to eat or drink or cool off. Highly recommend!

Nice event but food very expensive

by TeddyD on 6/26/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

I try to go to this event every year. I had a lot of problems getting my online ticket because the system didn't recognize my credit card information I entered (many times) and I received various error message numbers which were of little help in solving the problem. I finally had to use my PayPal account (same info) to get it approved. I think the food menu prices are out of sight and should be similar to those offered at The Masters. Volunteers are very nice and helpful.

    Grandfather & Grandson Trip

by Zuke on 6/26/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

It was my grandson’s 1st PGA event & must say every aspect of the Travelers was AWESOME! Entering the gate was smooth (TY for allowing under 15 in free - very classy), an attendant unexpectedly offered us a ride to the 1st tee, we met so many fine people - in the gallery & Championship Volunteers, food & drinks were good/reasonably priced, the grounds were meticulously maintained, numerous “fan zone” areas were free & perfectly placed, ample areas to view the venue, grabbed some amazing PGA clothing & accessories & the players were outstanding to watch & gracious in recognizing the fans. My wife tape recorded the event, so when we got back we saw ourselves on TV…very cool - Thanks Nonny! OVERALL A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE - LOTS OF GREAT MEMORIES MY GRANDSON & I WILL CHERISH!

A fun day at the Travelers GT

by David on 6/26/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

I arrived quite early about 8:30am so I got a perfect parking spot close to the gate. I followed a group from the 10th tee through the 18th hole & then visited the Fan Tour section, got my golf swing analyzed & tried some of the snacks. I then proceeded to the 1st hole & i randomly checked out the first 9 holes. At the 8th tee i had lunch & chatted with a volunteer who gave me the history of the event. It was lots of fun, good exercise & some amazing golf shots! It's fun for all ages & i highly recommended it!⛳️

excited to go; sad once I got to Mohegan Sun's (tent)

by Shadow Knows on 6/26/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

A past co-chair for a special event within the Insurance City Open years ago. I go to the GHO almost ever year, for several reasons which are not important to discuss. THIS YEAR I decided to pay extra and go to the Mohegan Sun tent on the 17th hole. The location was not any where near the 17th green area replaced by a 'public' (which is okay) area. I thought this was not very respectful to MS or for me or anyone interested in being part of MS. MS was located at a terrible spot not able to see too much of any excitement. Things get even better. On arrival I was not allowed to get to MS's location, per instructions form a staff (part of the TT) to get to MS's area. Being 75 once I got to almost MS I was told "no entrance this way" had to walk about the equivalent of at least two holes to finally get to MS. Now the fun begins. I understand the two drink (free) limit and all the reasons why, all good. Food: A CHEESEBURGER, CHIPS, SMALL PASTA SALAD. Can you imagine spending over $290 dollars for two tickets and MS offers you a CHEESEBURGER (or hot dog or veggie rap) for over $140+ dollars a ticket. I was insulted and left YOUR booth and went to the public booth, had a lot more fun. NOW: I can't trust MS. I am inclined not to visit MS anymore. Why should? Shadow Knows

    TPA

by Jeter2 on 6/26/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

Even though it was drizzling outside we had a great time. We also received weather proof ponchos and an umbrella which helped keeping dry.Lotd of good golf pros attended and they were quite friendly and autographed things for the kids. I will definitely go again!

Too Friggin Expensive for the Talent that Showed Up

by Friarcal on 6/25/22TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

The PGA is in a tough spot. With DJ, Bryson, Brooks, Kevin Na, Poulter, Sergio & Mickelson not in the field, it sucked.

    Beautiful day for golf

by El Jefe on 7/3/19TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

Got to the course early in anticipation of large crowds. Purchased the VIP parking, which turned out to be a home run! The course was in fantastic shape, and the new club house and facilities were top notch. We just did a grounds pass, because we just like to roam on the course. Overall a great day at a great venue!

First time seeing pro golf live

by Tim on 6/30/19TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

I bought a ticket when I saw DeChambeau was in and that alone was going to be good, but I was even more thrilled when Mickelson committed. The rain in the morning/early afternoon wasn't ideal but it is what it is. I was disappointed in the amount of mud in the fan areas such as the fan zone. My shoes were completely ruined because of it. Definitely could've been handled better. Food was overpriced too.

Great win by Chez Reavie at Traveler's Championship!

by Mike R. on 6/30/19TPC River Highlands - Cromwell

It was great to watch Chez Reavie win the Traveler's Championship at TPC River Highlands facing a hostile crowd that held more than a few drunk idiots, some of whom heckled him as he was standing over a putt on the 10th green. Unfortunately this seems to be a growing trend where people who are idiots to begin with, who have no business drinking and probably shouldn't be out in public, are showing up at golf tournaments. I gave the event 5 stars in spite of that as there was some great golf played at a great golf course-and tournament-that I've been to numerous times over the years
