Tom Cochrane In Concert
Most Americans know Tom Cochrane for his hit "Life Is a Highway" ā and rightly so, as the song absolutely dominated mainstream radio and MTV in 1991 and ā92. But in his native Canada, Cochrane is a bonafide rock'n'roll legend.Ā
He's been bestowed with the Order of Canada, inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and awarded an honorary colonel, honorary doctorate, and honorary star on the Canadian Walk of Fame. In short, he is a very big, beloved deal.Ā
It's easy to see why. Cochrane earned his status through years of tireless performing, both as a solo artist and with his breakout band Red Rider, as well as his lifetime of charity work around the world and generally being unabashedly and unfailingly Canadian. For Canucks of a certain age, Tom Cochrane is an icon of a generation.
Though he bought his first guitar when he was 11, Cochrane's musical career took a while to hit full speed. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up the son of a bush pilot in Etobicoke, Ontario. After attending technical school, he moved to Los Angeles to get into show business, but failed to make a mark.Ā
Back in Toronto, he paid the bills as a cab driver, dock worker, and sailboat crewman while playing solo gigs in coffee shops and dive bars around the city. He eventually connected with guitarist Ken Greer of the band Red Rider, and they joined forces in 1978, finding quick success across Canada with their debut album as a unit.Ā
Cochrane and Greer stuck together through a decade of lineup changes, but after a handful of platinum albums and hit singles that failed to break into the U.S. market, Red Rider disbanded in 1990. Thanks in part to the evergreen irresistibility of "Life Is a Highway," Cochrane has sustained a successful solo career ever since, playing with a veteran backing band in theaters around the world.

I find that the noise volume was deafening. The theatre was disappointing in style was looking for better. The music was not bad
Energy and calibre of performance was excellent! Biggest issue was audio and sound balancing for the space was very poor. Hard to discern lyrics from the audio wash out. Will reconsider future concerts at the Expo if this is a standard issue.
Great performance, horrible sound. The sound was very distorted. You did not understand what they were saying. This was the second time at the expo center for a concert and it was a problem with both times. My friend said the subs were too high and the walls were not insulated. I thought the first time was something to do with the artist (zztop), but it wasn't. It was constant with both. Unless this is fixed, I don't think I'll be back to the expo center.
Tom Cochrane was amazing. I'm so glad I got to see him. Sass Jordan was crazy good. What a voice. And of course Trooper. Great entertainment. I love the Expo Centre. There is no bad seat, it's a small venue holds around 2500. You can get a drink quickly and be back to your seat. Unlike Roger's Place where it is so jammed and takes forever to get food in drink or get in or out or go to the washroom.
Had a wonderful time where the atmosphere was intimate, electric and all out rockinā with unreal guitar solos, great energy and finally a concert to remember!
What a GREAT venue!! Small enough to feel intimate! Tom C was absolutely amazing...funny and so talented! The whole band was so talented. I also want to commend the staff at OLG Niagara - friendly and very helpful. Our whole night was an awesome night to remember!
Eighth time seeing Tom and it just gets better at each show. Did all the classics you would expect and the crowd just ate it up. OLG Fallsview is an incredible place to see a show. In all an incredible evening. Also thanks to Tom for the shoutout to me for Bird On A Wireā¦

Great show. Lots of energy. Sound was amazing. Awesome venue. Comfortable seating.
This is one of the best concerts Iāve been to!! It was high octane level with the first song! Tom Cochrane, at 70 years old, still has itāthe power, the voice, and the moves! Iād go see him again in a nano second!
The venue is great and Mr. Cochrane delivered! Fantastic musicians playing hit after hit. Iām still humming the songs days later!
They played all of their best songs. Tom was outstanding! He put on an amazing show at 70 years old. So impressed!
My wife is battling terminal lung cancer and I took her to see Tom. She was thrilled. She was very emotional to the song life is a highway, lost a son at 24. That was our road song when we all travelled together. ā¤ļø
Great show and great experience They break every record
I am pretty choosy about the concerts I go to, but am very glad we went to see Tom Cochrane. He can still totally rock the house and put out a great show. He is so personable, connects on every level with his audience and really makes you feel the heart in his music. River Cree was a great venue for a more personal experience, and the set up really showcased all levels of the music. Thank you Tom, for an amazing experience, and thank you River Cree, for showcasing amazing Canadian Talent!
At 69 years old, Tom Cochrane can still rock it! Great entertainment, I would see him again.
The Clark theatre is the best place for a concert. The staff is wonderful, parking is easy. The small venue makes it an intimate event. Tom and the gang looked like they were having a great time too.
i have followed him throughout the years and his performance has never been less than outstanding, i would not hesitate to see him again, come back soon
An amazing performance in an amazing venue! Definitely one to remember.
