About

Grammy-nominated producer TOKiMONSTA has charted a fascinating career over the past decade. She is one of the most revered music producers and one of the pioneers of the seminal 2010 era “L.A. Beat Scene.” As a world-class performer, she ranks as one of the Top 100 DJs worldwide (DJ Mag) and has performed at nearly every major festival worldwide. From her 2010 debut album Midnight Menu to her most recent 2020 album Oasis Nocturno, her entire discography has drawn critical praise from NPR, BBC, LA Times, NY Times, DJ Mag, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Pitchfork and more. As it stands, her list of collaborators include Anderson. Paak, EARTHGANG, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yuna, ZHU, Bibi Bourelly and The Drums, including up-and-coming artists she seeks out to mentor. With over 400 million streams and counting, she remains in demand having remixed the likes of David Bowie, Sia, Beck, Duran Duran, Portugal the Man, Disclosure, ODESZA, and Ólafur Arnalds. Following her second album Half Shadows, TOKiMONSTA established and began releasing on her own label Young Art Records. Mini-albums Desiderium and FOVERE both featured artist Anderson. Paak and some of her most beloved songs to date. After anchoring her label with her Grammy nomination, Young Art has continued to soar with notable releases being Rochelle Jordan’s Juno Award-nominated album Play with the Changes, featuring production by Kaytranada, Jimmy Edgar and Machinedrum – and critically-acclaimed album Svengali by Cakes Da Killa.

Really happy this concert was able to happen! Tokimonsta is a strong performer and will have you dancing the whole time!

  • Chairs in the way

by Henry on 11/23/21Commodore Ballroom - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I assume the chairs on the dance floor is a covid thing. However you really need to space them out more. The fact that the chairs where bound together in rows but not fixed to the ground meant that they where shifting around all show. Thank God people were more or less orderly. However if people pushed forward or really started to dance around I could see things getting really dangerous with people tripping and falling over. The venue really needs to rethink how they set things up.

  • Show was great but…

by Anonymous on 10/7/219:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

The show was great but the venue needs to improve on directions for the paid 9:30 Parking. It’s hard to find with the signs provided and it’s a far walk from the venue for almost costing $30. Not worth buying. The vaccination requirements was a plus but the mask police at the venue was too much especially when you’re trying to enjoy your beverage. Had to constantly watch my back every time I took a sip. Would of been a 2 star but Toki killed the show.

  • Finally! Back at the 930 Club

by SeanB on 10/5/219:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Great to be back at 930 Club! Lines moved fast. Security and mask protocols were enforced. Most important: Tokimonsta did an awesome set!! The opening acts were decent as well. If another show was offered, I would’ve went again.

  • Headliner started wayyyyy too late

    by Low-key Monsta on 10/5/219:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

Tokimonsta didn't take the stage until 1:30am. Unreal. To my knowledge, there wasn't anything wrong with her (of which I would have been more understanding) as her IG showed her in the crowd and dancing to the 2 acts before her. I get it was a 'late' show starting at 10pm, but STARTING 1:30am is egregiously late. Do better.

  • First Dance/Electronica Show

by NoVa Hottie on 10/5/219:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing! Danced so hard my Apple Watch started tracking my movement as calories burned. I will definitely go to another Tokimonsta show.

  • Tokimonsta is the Queen!

    by Stryker1677 on 10/16/17The Foundry - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

She absolutely curshed this concert, she has such great energy on stage and every new song she played the crowd would just erupt. It was great finally getting to see her own show and of course the Foundry is a great intimate venue.

  • Excellent!

    by MAK6793 on 10/16/17The Foundry - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

The set was ridiculously good! Having never been to a show like this before I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but it was a cool experience. I'd recommend going to see her play if you can.
