About

Tina Knowles is an American businesswoman, fashion designer, art collector, and activist. Born Celestine Ann Beyoncé in Galveston, Texas, to a longshoreman father and seamstress mother, she learned dressmaking at an early age. In 1986, she opened Headliners, a groundbreaking hair salon that became a multimillion-dollar phenomenon in Houston. As a stylist, designer, and mother, she helped guide the day-to-day path of Destiny's Child--the music group comprised of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams--to global commercial success. With her daughter Beyoncé, she cofounded and ran the House of Deréon, a clothing line named for her mother, and then added the Miss Tina line, which revolutionized size inclusivity. In 2024, she helped to create Cécred, her daughter Beyoncé's haircare line. Her philanthropic portfolio includes the non-profit performing arts organization WACO Theater, The Knowles-Rowland Center for Youth in Houston, and Tina's Angels, her thriving mentoring program for at-risk youth in South Central L.A. She serves as Chairwoman of BeyGOOD, a nonprofit dedicated to establishing economic equity through a wide array of initiatives. She is a grandmother of six and a Matriarch to many.

  • A Great Night! Memorable!

by Carmen on 8/17/25Rating: 5 out of 5

I went to the Book seminar at the Wiltern in LA and I have a great time! It was an intimate, heartfelt night and KeKe was a great host. I love that they brought out Keke’s mother and Jennifer Hudson. Jennifer sung a song that brought me to tears. It was such an amazing event!

  • Disappointed

by Georgie on 5/22/25Brooklyn Paramount - BrooklynRating: 2 out of 5

The venue seating was uncomfortable and the host Ms. Tina and King guest was not welcoming and thankful to the naive crowd for attending! We fans help make them even more richer! The Paramount Brooklyn venue was not comforting! Can't compare to Radio City Music Hall comfortable luxuries seating!!

  • Amazing!

by Daphne on 5/13/25Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Mama Tina dropped some gems, Leandria brought the house down and Tyler Perry asked all the right questions! This was a 10/10 experience!

  • Too late for comfort!

by Leeny on 5/13/25Fillmore New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 4 out of 5

The interview was good but the experience was horrible. The tickets said 6:00 pm but we were made to stand in the atrium for at least an hour and forty-five minutes. Once we were allowed into the venue we were once again made to stand before they allowed us entrance into the venue. The interview began by 9:15. There was no apology for being so tardy nor thanks that we even stayed. It ruined our dinner plans. I felt we deserved better!

  • The distracting rat

by Chelsi R. on 5/13/25Fillmore New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

I sat on the front row and there was a huge rat that ran across the floor the entire time. It was so distracting. They tried putting down rat traps but it kept running around it was huge. I lost Focus of the event alot of times. But overall I wish I could experience it again without a rat constantly running around. But mama Tina looked amazing as did tamron hall

  • Show Late...Filmore Sucks!

by Mary S on 5/13/25Fillmore New Orleans - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

Ms Tina's show was over 2 hrs late. The Filmore staff could have done a better job at hospitality. Communication with patrons was non-existent. When we finally made it in the facility, there were long lines for food and drinks and no darn staff. Then, they started the show without consideration to the fact that we had to wait outside for 2hrs and needed refreshments. This is 9 PM....had got in line at 6 PM. I loved Ms Tina and it was good but I will not be attending anything at Filmore again. I did not like the facility.

  • A Beautiful Night with Tina Knowles: Worth the Wait!

    by N.C.W. on 5/13/25Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed the Tina Knowles Book Tour in Atlanta! Although the show started late, which I wasn’t too happy about, once it got going, it turned into a beautiful experience. The conversations were powerful, the vibes were on point, and there was even a surprise performance that made the night extra special. Definitely worth it!

  • Mama T!!!

by Misha on 5/11/25Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I had a blast enjoying Mama T and hearing all the tea in this book! So grateful for her openness with us about her life and struggles. Really enjoyed Tyler Perry as the moderator too. Amazing book and woman!

  • A wonderful experience and wisdom worth hearing

by Rickey on 5/11/25Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

As a black woman, we care a bit more about the direction of our culture and in many ways likely unseen at face value, Madam Tina’s care for her family has had a trickle down effect throughout the lives and families of our culture at large. It was an awakening experience learning and hearing how she dealt with love and care for her family through uncertainty and difficult times. I believe her impact will be felt for more generations as we read and employ some of the wisdom, lessons, and strategies in our own lives and to our own families with the goal of creating a stronger foundation for our growing futures. As for the event itself it was smooth, if I could change one thing I would implement activities that are interactive like games or experiences so when fans are idle they can be occupied and building anticipation for the event. The most efficient process was the photo opportunity, though it was quick it was robust in the experience and very well managed. When meeting Madam Tina I could tell she had a very relaxed energy. I also appreciated the gift bag including the Cécred products and Cé Lumiére. A wonderful and humbling experience in happy to have had and I look forward to learning more from the book - thank you for the signed copy.
