About

Thrice is a genre-defying rock band from Orange County, California, known for their evolving sound, profound lyrics, and fiercely loyal fanbase. Formed in 1998 by high school friends Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Eddie Breckenridge, and Riley Breckenridge, the band first made waves in the early 2000s with their blend of post-hardcore urgency and melodic sensibility on albums like The Illusion of Safety and The Artist in the Ambulance.

Over the years, Thrice has built a legacy of fearless experimentation, incorporating elements of electronic, ambient, and progressive rock into acclaimed records such as Vheissu, Beggars, and the ambitious four-part Alchemy Index series. After a brief hiatus in 2012, they returned stronger than ever, continuing to challenge expectations and explore new sonic territory. "Black Honey" (2016), a lead single from To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere, marked the band's return to rock radio charts and reached #11 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and spent 32 weeks on that chart and reached #37 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.

Now, more than two decades into their career, Thrice remains a vital force in modern rock. Their recent albums, including Horizons/East and its follow-up Horizons/West, reflect a band that is both rooted in its punk-rock beginnings and unafraid to push boundaries--delivering music that is as thoughtful as it is powerful.

  • La Dispute was ridiculous!

by YouCrushMe on 10/16/11Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 4 out of 5

My friends and I attended the show solely to see La Dispute, but we also enjoyed Moving Mountains and O'Brother. We did not actually watch Thrice since we were preoccupied meeting Jordan Dreyer, the lead singer of La Dispute. We got his signature and pictures with him, and it was an overall awesome experience.

  • Great display of their progression & nostalgic too

    by Liss0709 on 10/16/11Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 5 out of 5

Thrice became my favorite band because of their hard sound and screaming, but melodic vocals ( bc dustin has a great voice) but they experimented & strayed from the original, and changed a lot. Each album they came out with was so different from the one before it, but in a good way. Their newer albums have melody, musicality & some hardness that remind a fan they didn't "sell out" they evolved, and matured. They didnt stay the same or be boring. We get it, and we love it, and we want more!!! Great show & loved the new songs, but wished you played some more earlier stuff too..like Deadbolt! :)

This show was totally different from what I'm used to. It was calm, reserved, entire crowd was nice, and all the bands that played were talented. Overall, a good experience.

  • Great show!

Thrice were excellent live, definitley well worth seeing! It's interesting to see how their sound has evolved since they first started... they are going for a more alternative-ish sound and aren't quite as metal-ish sounding as they used to be, but that's ok, they're still good.. Definitley see Thrice if you ever have a chance, you won't regret it! I enjoyed O'Brother and Moving Mountains too, La Dispute I didn't really care for

  • Thrice rocks!

by Spankybird on 10/15/11The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

3rd time I've seen them.......evertime gets better. Played 2 or 3 songs off the new album and I can't wait to get it.....will see them every year...best show for the money!

  • Great experience

    by Gino88 on 10/15/11The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

Over all each band put on a great show. The venue has recently picked up itself providing some basic seating in the back for everyone. Bar area was clean and service was top notch, pricey but I suppose that's what you pay. My only complain was that the ticket stated show starts at 7:30, we got there at 7:45 the first band had already finished. Moving Mountains I was so disappointed they where one of the reasons I bought tickets.

  • Thrice is Incredible Live

  • Thrice was out of this world!

    by Cruella1023 on 10/12/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Best show I've been too in years...made me believe that music is not quite dead yet...bring Thrice back to The Masquerade...

  • Thrice is always amazing.

by Anonymous on 10/12/11The Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Thrice in concert five times now and every time they have been unforgettable. These guys are truly talented. Their music genre range is incredible. After the show, Dustin played a few acoustic songs across the street to promote Invisible Children. He even stayed to make sure he signed items, shake hands, and take pictures with his fans. Thrice always delivers.

  • THRICE WAS BEYOND WORDS AMAZING!

    by MissGigglez89 on 10/11/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

There are only a few bands that I can say sound better live than on their cd and Thrice is definitely one of those bands. It was incredible! Hands down one of the best shows I have ever been too!

  • Thrice: music you can feel

by Marshiemarie on 10/11/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Thrice played at a simple, smaller venue. Their sound is record quality. They have some crowd interaction. There were a few songs when the audience held notes in unison, singing to the lyrical paradise that filled the room. They played a lot of tracks off the last two albums, would of been epic to add more from The Alchemy Indexes. This band proves to be epic and a rock powerhouse.

  • Awesome

by Fivehrenergy on 10/11/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Very awesome show by thrice, especially the acoustic "aftershow" outside in that small alley. Was really cool to get to talk to Dustin for a min and get a picture.

  • Great show

by lostsync on 10/11/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The show itself was pretty awesome. The guy at the mixing console looked about 15, but he ran the desk very well. Everything was clear and suitably loud, but not deafening. For Thrice, the only band I really knew, I actually picked up on some detail in their songs that is rather lost on the album, so hats off there. This venue is kind of annoying in that they've got these tape lines all over the floor. If you are outside of this box, you are not allowed to stand still, and they are serious about this. I'm sure this is probably some kind of city ordinance or something, but the end result feels kind of like you're visiting a prison, which is not how you want to feel at a rock show. It's less annoying for shows that aren't that packed, but I'm pretty sure Heaven was at or near capacity, so finding space to stand a comfortable and socially appropriate distance apart to have a conversation with my friends was a challenge. All the bands were pretty great though so this was only a minor issue, as we were mostly just paying attention to the stage.

  • GREAT SHOW!!!!

    by xthricex11 on 10/11/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Every band that played killed it. Quite amazing show.

  • by Anonymous on 10/11/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Unforgettable show. Thrice played a great mix of old and new songs, and Dustin played an acoustic set after! So great and appreciative of fans. Definitely see if you get a chance!

  • Thrice was the best musical experience of my life

by Anonymous on 10/11/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Thrice tore up the stage and I was just ecstatic for having been there. Amazing songs. Amazing band. Amazing crowd that was singing the entire time.

  • Everytime i think they cant get better....

by Steenzy on 10/10/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen thrice over 14 times and they just get better and better every time! Dustin stayed after the show for almost 2 hours until every pic was taken and every item was autographed. He is a true artist that has respect for his fans.

  • See Them Again... And Again... And Again!

    by arod412 on 10/9/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

This is my second time seeing Thrice live and for the second time I have not been disappointed. It's such a great feeling to see these guys live again since listening to them since their inception. The entire lineup was amazing and Thrice seems to consistently find up and coming bands that are just amazing. Each band had its own type of energy and was able to pump the crowd each and every time. My only problem was not with the music but with security scrutinizing my ID for a solid 5 minutes to make sure I am over 21. I understand that their job needs to be done, but it's not like I am trying to get into a CIA only authorized building. Let alone being analyzed by someone who I am sure is not even close to being an expert at knowing what a fake ID looks like. That was my only gripe but once I got inside, the crowd was incredibly friendly, the bar staff as well, and the music unforgettable. If you love rock and roll and high energy, definitely come see these guys. Dustin Kensrue: "I'm not good at talking. I'm only good at rocking" - Lead Singer of Thrice @ Revolution 10/07/2011 after some minor technical difficulties with sound equipment.

  • Thrice

by xxslavetoanguishxx on 10/9/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

The Doors opened at 6:30pm and the first band which was o'brother were first to open they weren't bad at all their set was great, I was anticipating Moving Mountains set and they did an amazing job I felt that their set was short but overall I really enjoyed it, After them La Dispute pumped ip the crowd and they were pretty good, and Lastly Thrice had an hour and a half set I'm not complaining it was great, they played a couple of boring songs, but they played like maybe a few of my favorites which was okay by me overall I had an amazing time

  • MUST-SEE LIVE!

    by FlyRobot05 on 12/9/10Fox Theater - PomonaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Thrice 3 times live and each has been an amazing experience. Hands-down one of my favorite bands to see live. They have such a variety of songs that makes their concert experience unforgettable and not just hardcore or mellow for 2 hours. Definitely do not hesitate to see them.
