About

Thrice is a genre-defying rock band from Orange County, California, known for their evolving sound, profound lyrics, and fiercely loyal fanbase. Formed in 1998 by high school friends Dustin Kensrue, Teppei Teranishi, Eddie Breckenridge, and Riley Breckenridge, the band first made waves in the early 2000s with their blend of post-hardcore urgency and melodic sensibility on albums like The Illusion of Safety and The Artist in the Ambulance.

Over the years, Thrice has built a legacy of fearless experimentation, incorporating elements of electronic, ambient, and progressive rock into acclaimed records such as Vheissu, Beggars, and the ambitious four-part Alchemy Index series. After a brief hiatus in 2012, they returned stronger than ever, continuing to challenge expectations and explore new sonic territory. "Black Honey" (2016), a lead single from To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere, marked the band's return to rock radio charts and reached #11 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and spent 32 weeks on that chart and reached #37 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.

Now, more than two decades into their career, Thrice remains a vital force in modern rock. Their recent albums, including Horizons/East and its follow-up Horizons/West, reflect a band that is both rooted in its punk-rock beginnings and unafraid to push boundaries--delivering music that is as thoughtful as it is powerful.

  • This Concert Was Amazing

by jakeybabs on 10/26/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I feel like I'm never going to see a lineup this good again. Some truly remarkable bands. I'm going to take any chance I can to see any of them live again in the future. Especially Thrice. They were my favorite band prior to this show but now even more so. Word's can't explain how good they are just do yourself a favor and go see them!

  • Thrice blew me away

by theloveforthrice on 10/25/11Newport Music Hall - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I didnt care for the opening bands. Im 29 so the emo scene isnt really for me but thrice surprised me. I did not expect to hear older songs but i was really happy to hear some of their slower stuff. Beggars and wind water and earth are my favs. But you cant beat vheissu. Thrice will always be my favorite band because they have such variety

The show was amazing, both with the opening acts and with Thrice. The bands obviously are having a great deal of fun on the tour, as there were more than one instance where the other bands interacted on stage. The only down side was a woman who was horribly obnoxious was standing in front of me at the front of the stage. But when a conflict arouse, the house security was very quick and easy to get along with. Overall Amazing experience

  • Great Lineup Great Show!

by GreenCow on 10/24/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The Royale did a great job with the sound, and all the bands came to play, despite one not being of any interest to me. And as always Thrice was amazing, they played a bunch off Vheissu and Beggars which I was pumped about, as well as a lot of good throwbacks from older albums. It was a decently long set, but I would've stayed there all night if they kept playing, great show overall, if you're a fan you gotta go see them live they are an amazing live band and Dustin has an unbelievable set of pipes.

Thrice sounded amazing live. It was cool to listen to some of their older songs (Phoenix Ignition especially). A lot of the songs played were from their new album Major/Minor which is in my opinion one of their best.

  • Thrice, one of the most underrated bands on Earth.

    by Max17 on 10/21/11Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Thrice never ceases to amaze me. They constantly bring forth new and captivating music. Thrice writes music that they enjoy playing, not what the are being pressured to conform to. This is clearly evident in their shows as they put so much heart into their music. This concert was clearly one of the best that I have been to (and I have been to plenty). Thrice is a must see!

  • Hands down best concert I've ever seen!

    by Thricedude72 on 10/20/11The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Thrice blew me away. Awesome set list with a variety of songs; even a few surprising old ones! Spot-on vocals and instrumentals. Perfect show. Awesome acoustic set after the show as well.

Perfect lineup. Moving Mountains was phenomenal as usual. La Dispute amazed me, as I knew they would and I was pleasantly surprised with o'brother. Thrice, of course, was great as well. Awesome show.

Thrice is one of the best bands to ever come to Boston. A truly talented group. Amazing.

  • Thrice was simply amazing!

This was my first time seeing Thrice in concert, and man was it an awesome show or what! When I first arrived at Royale, the place was packed and the opening band had just started playing. I didn't expect to see so many people there, but i knew from the opening salvo of "Yellow Belly" that they were going to play an amazing show!

The location and venue were fantastic. La Dispute was so much fun. Moving Mountains was the best band of the evening. Thrice was good, although they hardly played any old material, which bummed me out very much.

  • Thrice rocked my face off!

    by martz57 on 10/19/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This show was the best show I have seen of theirs, and I have seen them quite a few times. The energy was awesome and show was fantastic in every way. I wouldn't have missed the thrice concert for anything. The masquerade was a bit scary though, it was on the second floor and you could see holes down to the first floor and when people jumped the whole floor moved.

  • Thrice never ceases to amaze me.

by KarenMB on 10/17/11Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show. They played at least one song from every album. Absolutely amazing.

  • Thrice!!

by kendokhan on 10/17/11Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 4 out of 5

Pretty sick show. The sound at Starland isn't perfect and even the setup is less than ideal. If you're on the short side you're going to have some problems viewing the band unless you're in the rear drinking area. Thrice however is friggin sick. I've seen them at Nassau Colosseum and now here at Starland. If it wasn't for the venue this event would have been perfection. Kinda surprised they didn't play Red Sky, Stare at the Sun or The Artist in the Ambulance. But hey, they could play whatever they want and I'd be thrilled.

  • Thrice was awesome

by cnak on 10/17/11Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 4 out of 5

They were awesome live!!! The only complaint I have is that they didnt play my favorite song "Artist and the Ambulance" i was REALLY looking forward to hearing it...maybe next time. Other then that the show was awesome and they are great live. I would def see them again :)

  • by CharlotteRose on 10/16/11Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 5 out of 5

The venue has a really good set up, even if your short you'll be able to see because there are steps on the sides you can stand on. Thrice was amazing and so were all the other bands.

  • by NicePance on 10/16/11Starland Ballroom - SayrevilleRating: 5 out of 5

Great bands, great venue, great crowd, great show.
