Three Dog Night on Tour
Legendary band, Three Dog Night, now in its fifth decade, claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than Three Dog Night.
Three Dog Night hits weave through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures -- songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala" and "One" serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize Three Dog Night's continuing popularity.
This Grammy-nominated band is not content resting on its legacy alone. Always working to expand its audience, Three Dog Night has embraced and been embraced by 21st century music technology. New and existing fans buy Three Dog Night's music on iTunes as well as at record stores. In fact, releases from this decade alone have sold well over a million copies.
Three Dog Night also pushed boundaries by recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, giving fans new and old a chance to experience its dynamic performances of the hits as well as several new songs. The project, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London and released to coincide with the band's 35th Anniversary, added exciting new orchestral arrangements to Three Dog Night's signature sound.
Three Dog Night maintains an aggressive, year-round touring schedule of over 70 dates a year. The hit filled concerts are performed for generation-spanning audiences by Danny Hutton (founder/lead vocalist) and Michael Allsup (guitar) with Paul Kingery (bass/vocals), Pat Bautz (drums),) David Morgan (vocals) and Howard Lavarea (keyboards). The band's now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a "Three Dog Night".
Boasting chart and sales records that are virtually unmatched in popular music Three Dog Night had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles, 11 Top 10's, 18 straight Top 20's, 7 million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The hits appeared on best-selling charts in all genres (pop, rock and country). Its records Three Dog Night Page 2 continue to sell around the world, reaching beyond the borders of the U.S. into Japan, Canada, Holland, England, Germany, Spain and elsewhere. Tens of millions of Three Dog Night records have been sold through the years.
Created in 1968 by Danny Hutton Three Dog Night recorded the music of the best (and mostly undiscovered) new songwriters of their time including Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams and Hoyt Axton among many others. The group's eclectic taste, combined with their ability to recognize and record hits in a unique, distinctive and appealing style, resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years.
Now, marking 50 years on the road Three Dog Night continues to grow its fan base by keeping up a full schedule of concerts at theaters, performing arts centers, fairs, festivals, corporate events, and casinos. Since 1986, the band has performed over 2,500 shows including two Super Bowls.

My favorite Group at my favorite location. What can be any better ( maybe just more often).
Three Dog Night was so much fun and the venue was incredible! I would definitely go to Penn's Peak again.
The performance of Three Dog Night at Penn's Peak on June 19, 2009, was outstanding!!! This seventies super group continues to perform at a high level of excellence and they continue to care about their audiences. Kudos to Three Dog Night and the management of Penn's Peak!!
after growing up with their music, i fully enjoyed seeing them in concert. They talked to the people and looked like they were really having fun on stage. I feel very enriched my seeing them in person!!!!!!!!!!!! They sounded GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! and played GREAT!!!!! Please do not miss the change to see this AWESUME GROUP LIVE if you can..........
My wife and I have long been fans of three dog night and I had last seen them about 18 years ago. We were looking forward to a great show but were very disappointed. Although the voices of the two lead singers are still good and strong, there was little enthusiasm in the show. It appeared that most of the band came there to "do their job" for an hour and then leave. The only band member who seemed to be having fun and trying to put some energy into the band was guitar player Jimmy Greenspoon. I will always be a fan of their songs but as I sat at the concert I realized that I could just as well be sitting at home listening to their CD with the volume cranked up TOO HIGH! The volume at the show was much too loud and actually made their trademark harmonies sometime painful! I can truthfully say that we were actually bored watching this band "perform"
We ernjoyed the performance. It was interesting later to read the history of the group and who of the original are still part of the group.
We were really disappointed. Other concerts that we've been to with bands of that era have still been fantastic. They didn't sing a lot of the songs we thought. they added some songs that weren't theres. They have so many songs, they could have sung all night. Wouldn't recomment putting out the money to see them.
The music was great, the venue is great, he night was wonderful. The only complaint was it was too short.
the band was good. the singers were terrific. sounded like their records. the audience was mostly old folks (50 and up) who needed a warm up to get them moving. a warm up group, comedian, or someone other than the intro announcer might have been able to get the audience off its hands. all in all, a good show!
absolutely would go see them again, only problem was they had too many hit songs to play them all !!!
Three Dog Night played Penn's Peak in Pennsylvania to a solid house of fans. They came out smiling and sang hit after hit, al made famous in the 1970's, but still popular to the crowd on hand. Their voices are still there, and they hit the notes on all of their classic songs. The musicians behind the singers are tight and interact all night with each other and the audience. If you want a fun night out listening to all of the songs you heard on the radio during the early 1970's, this is the show, each song on their set list is a classic Three Dog Night song. Many of these songs find their way on movies, tv shows, commercials, and even classic rock radio stations. The show was great, we are fortunate to still see acclaimed musicians performing their hits to us in wonderful settings like Penn's Peak where the sound was awesome. Keep Rockin!!
This was a fantastic concert in a wonderful venue. Definitely a fun time that took me down memory lane. I would recommend this concert highly!
Show was awsome!!!!!!!!! Never a bad seat @ Penns Peak. Songs were all great except no Eli's Coming???? What's with that??? and show only 1 hr 15 min. Still would see again
The show was terrific. And Penn's Peak is a great place to see a show! I would go again in a heartbeat.
We did not enjoy the show. For the price it was expensive.
What a show they put on! Didn't know what to esxpect, but they put on a fabulous show from songs I knew to ones that were new to me. They were funny and entertaining. Penn's Peak is a great venue!
the group played all hits and the crowd was understandably older. the only disappointment was they played for just one hour total. happily there was no opening band.
exellent show had a really good time would go see them again in a heartbeat
Three Dog Night was wonderful. It was nice to hear all their great songs. Penn's Peak is in a beautiful location on top of the mountain. It was like getting two wonderful shows for the price of one.
They were good, however, we all thought it was a little too short. It was only an hour long, with no intermission. When they performed what was their last song as it turned out, we thought they would come back out. But all in all a good concert.
