Three Dog Night on Tour

Legendary band, Three Dog Night, now in its fifth decade, claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than Three Dog Night.

Three Dog Night hits weave through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures -- songs like "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)", "Joy to the World", "Black and White", "Shambala" and "One" serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize Three Dog Night's continuing popularity.

This Grammy-nominated band is not content resting on its legacy alone. Always working to expand its audience, Three Dog Night has embraced and been embraced by 21st century music technology. New and existing fans buy Three Dog Night's music on iTunes as well as at record stores. In fact, releases from this decade alone have sold well over a million copies.

Three Dog Night also pushed boundaries by recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, giving fans new and old a chance to experience its dynamic performances of the hits as well as several new songs. The project, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London and released to coincide with the band's 35th Anniversary, added exciting new orchestral arrangements to Three Dog Night's signature sound.

Three Dog Night maintains an aggressive, year-round touring schedule of over 70 dates a year. The hit filled concerts are performed for generation-spanning audiences by Danny Hutton (founder/lead vocalist) and Michael Allsup (guitar) with Paul Kingery (bass/vocals), Pat Bautz (drums),) David Morgan (vocals) and Howard Lavarea (keyboards). The band's now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a "Three Dog Night".

Boasting chart and sales records that are virtually unmatched in popular music Three Dog Night had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles, 11 Top 10's, 18 straight Top 20's, 7 million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The hits appeared on best-selling charts in all genres (pop, rock and country). Its records Three Dog Night Page 2 continue to sell around the world, reaching beyond the borders of the U.S. into Japan, Canada, Holland, England, Germany, Spain and elsewhere. Tens of millions of Three Dog Night records have been sold through the years.

Created in 1968 by Danny Hutton Three Dog Night recorded the music of the best (and mostly undiscovered) new songwriters of their time including Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams and Hoyt Axton among many others. The group's eclectic taste, combined with their ability to recognize and record hits in a unique, distinctive and appealing style, resulted in Three Dog Night dominating the charts for years.

Now, marking 50 years on the road Three Dog Night continues to grow its fan base by keeping up a full schedule of concerts at theaters, performing arts centers, fairs, festivals, corporate events, and casinos. Since 1986, the band has performed over 2,500 shows including two Super Bowls.

  • Three Dog Night - Fabulous!

by JudyNP on 10/28/25Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - ChandlerRating: 5 out of 5

Loved every song they sang, even the ones we didn't know. Audience provided harmonic background because we knew nearly every song. Will plan on seeing them again if the tour next year. Phoenix, AZ

  • What a performance!

by PJ on 10/28/25Gila River Resorts & Casinos - Wild Horse Pass - ChandlerRating: 5 out of 5

Was nostalgic to see a 3 Dog Night concert but what I witnessed “blew me away”! The power in their voices, the energy they all brought to the show, their arrangement of so many hit songs made this experience a 10 out of 10. The a cappella performance of Prayer of the Children brought tears to our eyes. Must see!

  • They still have IT!

Great down memory lane show. Wished they would have played a little longer.

  • Past their prime

I have seen many Old time bands in the past few years in the Vegas area. Most of the bands play recognizable songs, but not these guys. With only the backup singer from the original band, most songs were unrecognizable. Although their performance was not touted as their last tour. Maybe they should consider making it the last tour so as to preserve the band we once loved in our memories.

  • great fun to relive the music

I really enjoyed Three Dog Night. I have listened and sung along since the late 60's. Their harmony was spot on and they put on a fun night of their hits. I had a great seat so I didn't miss a beat. Keep singing as it made the old memories fun again.

  • Show was fun

by Sarasmile on 10/27/25The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

The shoes was fun. A bit pricey for about an hour. Three Dog sang a great variety. It was disappointing Ticketmaster would not allow me to buy 3 tickets as it didn't want me to leave a single seat so I had to buy 3 tickets individually and by the time I did all that we didn't get to sit 3 of us together. That's a Ticketmaster issue.

  • 3 Dog Night in Las Vegas

by Ronnie on 10/27/25The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous!! I went solo to the show & had a great time. The show set had an excellent pace & flow. They played the hits and sang beautifully. A few, well-placed remarks to the crowd, but 99% music performance. Tremendous execution of Ely's Coming. New material presented well, without disrupting the tried & true. A short, engaging performance that thrilled the fans. The keyboard player was a standout. 5-Stars to 3 Dog Night!!!

  • 3 Dog Night

by Edie on 10/27/25The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

As a fan from the sixties, I was looking forward to the concert. They were very nice and played all the songs but didn’t sound great. We had a good time though. I think it’s time to hang it up. There is only one original member left, Danny Hutton. Even though though he was the main vocal of the group, at 83 years young his voice has lost that clear quality. In fact, there is a younger member who sang One and sounded great. The highlight for us was a new song about children, don’t remember the name but was absolutely beautiful. Glad we got to see them but don’t expect too much!

  • Not Easy to be Honest

by LyricLady2025 on 10/27/25The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Difficult to write this one....When we saw Three Dog Night in 2018, they were spot on and lots of fun. As Vegas locals, an encore performance seven years forward was sadly disappointing. Age and time has not been kind for lead vocals and several notes were off and a bit cringeworthy. While we give loads of credit to these guys still motivated to perform live, they had a good run. Joy to the World just felt forced and reeked of karaoke. Thanks for all the memories!

  • 70’s music at it’s purest for

by EBKVEGAS on 10/27/25The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The 70’s were identity b 4-5 groups who dominated the decades with hit after hit. Three Dog Night had over 10 number 1 hits. They played all their hits and sounded perfectly. Event was completely sold out so if they come back to Vegas I would not hesitate to buy early. Highly recommend to any lover of 70’s music.

  • Great Nostalgic Event

by Dawgman on 10/27/25The Showroom at the Golden Nugget - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Three Dog Night was Great. Danny Hutton and Crew played all the Hits, Vocals especially Harmonies were Spot on. He even has his Sons in the Band and they were more than enough. Golden Nugget Showroom was the perfect Venue to see them at too.

  • Mere shadows of their peak

by Christmas Eve Steve on 10/1/25Pinewood Bowl Theater - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

The opening act of Little River Band has no original members, so it is more of a tribute or cover band. They were enthusiastic, the musicians were quite good, but I thought the vocals were a little weak. 3 Dog Night had only one original member and he is in his early 80's. Having seen them in 1981, when all 3 dogs were on stage, there was no comparison. Some old rockers just don't know when to hang it up. It was still an evening of live music and that's always worthwhile.

The show was awesome, both bands did a great job. The crowd was having a good time.

  • Worst parking ever

by MarDog on 9/30/25Pinewood Bowl Theater - LincolnRating: 1 out of 5

For all of the shows we have attended at Pinewood Bowl, the handicap parking was abhorrent. Making people with disabilities walk farther than people who have no mobility issues is the epitome of no customer service. I didn't know we had to show up 3 hours before the show to be able to park in the "designated"handicap parking instead of the overflow handicap parking. If my husband didn't have his electric scooter in the car, we would have left the concert because of the distance we had to walk to get to the entrance and then to our seats. You can always allow others to park in the designated handicap area after the concert has started. You need to take into consideration the age of your concert attendees when designating handicap parking. The majority of the attendees Saturday were over 75.

  • Great

by Rich on 9/30/25Pinewood Bowl Theater - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Both bands did a wonderful job of both singing and playing instruments.

  • Still a great band

by 70’s child on 9/30/25Pinewood Bowl Theater - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

They were absolutely fabulous and sounded just as good as they did in the 70’s if not better. Prayer for a child unbelievable. So moving done accapella. Their songs were all great and the crowd was rocking.

  • Little River Band and 3 Dog Night were awesome.

Pinewood Bowl is a great venue. Loved the whole experience and concert.
