About

THIEVERY CORPORATION IN CONCERT:

Lounge and electronica collective Thievery Corporation capture the sleek sounds of the international set with their chilled-out beats, worldly sonic palette, and lush synthscapes. Their mesmerizing and eclectic mix of bossa nova, acid jazz, trip hop, and a host of other genres had crate-diggers drooling with jealousy between sets at their 2013 shows, reminding fans just why they're one of downtempo's most beloved acts. With a highly anticipated new album due out in 2014, Thievery Corporation are set to blow minds once again on their upcoming North American tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Washington, DC's Rob Garza and Eric Hilton formed Thievery Corporation in 1995 as an outlet for their shared love of acid jazz, dub reggae, and Brazilian musical traditions. Using Hilton's Eighteenth Street Lounge as a base of operations, their early mixing sessions were a huge success, resulting in their 1997 debut album Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi. While the album was a minor success, it was their second record, The Mirror Conspiracy, that really put them on the map, led by the sweltering single "Lebanese Blond." Since then, they have continued to pioneer new directions in downtempo, headlining some of the world's biggest festivals and establishing themselves as legends of the genre.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"So talented and entertaining. Definitely worth seeing them live again soon."

"Absolutely rocked the place. Collaboration of old tunes with new and energetic stuff made it so special and enjoyable. The place was jamming! Loved it!"

"This is the third time I've seen Thievery Corporation and I must say they are one of the BEST live acts I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. If you have not seen them live you are doing yourself a horrible disservice."

  • 2005 wants its scene back

by Nautilus on 6/22/25Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

Venue: 2 out of 5 stars. Friendly staff, expensive drinks, little to no food. The usual. They get dinged for dirty bathrooms and flooding. I was standing in deep water directly in front of the stage. The show: I’ve seen Thievery 5-6 times over the past 15 years. The show never changes. It’s fun enough but doesn’t include many deep cuts. One of the reggae singers randomly gave a little diversity lecture which didn’t seem to go over well in what I imagine is MAGA country. I’ve much preferred the music that Eric Hilton is putting out solo over the last few years.

  • Weather cooperated

by ErrolnTPA on 6/22/25Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

Weather wasn't looking good... But I think even Mother Nature loves Thievery... Obviously a great venue, but as always, they put on a helluva show...

  • Great concert with two exceptions

by Thievery fan on 6/22/25Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

I give Thievery Corporation 5 stars, but the overall experience at the venue made me take off two stars. The first thing was the DJ. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I just didn't like the material he was using, and in at least one occasion he used way too much bass. The second thing is the apparent presence of pickpockets in the audience at Jannus Live. I read the warnings not to bring your wallet to the venue, and consequently didn't bring mine. At the concert I was roughly bumped into at least 4 separate times, at the same spot - my right shoulder. The guy(s) didn't even apologize for doing this. I realized afterwards that this was likely the classic method of pickpockets who work alone, and use the bump for a distraction while taking your wallet. Glad I left my wallet behind. These negatives aside, it was a pleasure to see a real band play, with vocals, keyboards, drums, percussion instruments, bass, and last but not least, a sitar. The vocals were great, their overall sound is superb. Such an excellent performance!

  • Always an amazing show

by Cisco on 6/22/25Jannus Live - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, they are so talented and always in the moment. We danced the entire time!

  • What a show!

by rmalandscape on 5/26/25Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen these guys 10 times and it is never a dull moment. One of the best bands out there for sure, very creative in their delivery and full diverse energy. Look forward to the next show!

  • Amazing Show, Amazing Venue

by Phyllis on 5/26/25Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Love the variety of music that Thievery Corporation performs. One minute your eyes are closed and you are swaying to a soothing tune and then you move onto one that has you dancing to the music. This is an amazing band and we always see them when they are in town. This is a must see and the Humphrey's venue has no bad seats. Every seat is amazing. Also, the staff at Humphrey's raises the bar on customer service and is always helpful and pleasant.

  • Incredible venue / amazing band

by GO4ADRV on 5/26/25Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

If you haven’t seen the corporation yet, you need to go see them. It is always a great show to see, and Humphreys made it so much better with the venue the water and front road tickets didn’t suck.

  • Phenomenal performance. Unique

by Toni on 5/25/25Pechanga Resort Casino - TemeculaRating: 5 out of 5

Thievery Corporation is unique and worth following. Many that attended had not heard of them. I am sure they will be delighted.

  • Great show, poor lighting

by TNiles on 5/20/25Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 4 out of 5

Thievery Corporation was a great show! Absolutely did not disappoint. Highly recommend. The lighting at the venue was poor and a large part of the time band was practically in the dark. Otherwise all good!

  • Laura Vall

by Neuroguru on 5/19/25Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

She fronted Theory Corporation at the Uptown Theater in Napa and killed it!

  • Ethereal and pounding.

by Neuroguru on 5/19/25Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

In a world that often feels oversaturated with disposable beats and digital homogeneity, Thievery Corporation remains a transcendent force—an ever-relevant reminder that music is both a passport and a protest. Their recent performances are nothing short of ritual: part dance, part sermon, part psychedelic séance. Kind and engaging with their fans, they take you on an intimate tour that expands to a world journey. Enduring decades, TC is still relevant in a time when the world needs empathy, rhythm, and rebellion. Thanks, Rob, Rob, Eric, Jeff, Dan, Frank, Lou Lou, Racquel, Natalia, Shana, Mr. LIF, Notch, Rithma, Puma Pitah and don't forget Emiliana and posthumously, Pam!

  • Good music, lame crowd

by bluecardinal on 5/19/25Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 3 out of 5

Been to a number of Thievery shows over the past 15 years and this one was by far the lamest. Mostly older crowd (and I'm in my 50s, so that's saying something), which is fine, but they were mostly sitting down during the show, draining energy from the room. Again, fine in and of itself, but when they started going around and asking folks who are dancing to sit down, that's going too far. Not sure I would go to a show at the Uptown again, unless it's something where you plan on sitting the entire time.

  • The concert was incredible!

by Little Jade Tree on 5/19/25Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

They played all the hits to a raucous crowd that was really into it. I know they made some new fans out of people who saw them for the first time. They played a full 3 hours and every bit of the show was absolutely captivating.

  • Stole our hearts...again !

by MontrealRick on 3/11/25Rating: 5 out of 5

This was my 2nd time seeing Thievery Corporation in Montreal. I saw them in 2024, and again last week. Just an incredible vibe, danced all night, even during the slower tunes. Highlights were by far Mr.Lif's solo tune "I Phantom"and of course "Lebanese Blond". IMHO, this was a better show than in 2024. I sure hope they will come again soon (2026!)

  • Fabulous

by Symka on 3/9/25MTELUS - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed every minute of this exuberant show. I couldn’t stop moving 🥰

  • Best concert in years

by Marndz on 3/9/25MTELUS - MontrealRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish, this show was spectacular. The synergy and energy was magnificent. The vocals and talent unmatched to any other band. We love what they represent, and only wished they would play montreal every month. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Amazing concert, so much depth hearing them live!

by Sitar Lover on 3/7/25Aura - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

The percussion is amazing, they kept the beat right on track allowing the bass player to do his magic. Which allowed the extraordinary talent of sitar vocals and moog into play with freedom and grace. Was a fantastic time for taking my lady out on her birthday night. Would have liked to have seen Flamingosis with his band live too. That would have been my concert of the year. I can compare it to seeing Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff at the Civic Center and then The B 52s and the Eagles last tour in Boston. Very top shelf performers!!! Great Job!!! 👏 Bring the horns next time!!! 🎺

  • TC great, Aura SUCKS

by Sam on 3/7/25Aura - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

We left during the second song, as Aura was so packed and uncomfortable that no part of the stage could be seen. Oversold? Second show at Aura that was this miserably packed. Won’t be going back.

  • Thievery Corporation

by Fan on 3/7/25Aura - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

Band was great, but venue (AURA) in Portland may have oversold tickets—it seemed like there were too many people for the capacity.

  • Tremendously fun show

by CAM on 3/7/25Aura - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

So many different artists wandering around that stage or chilling on the center sofa thing and doing what they do best. Rapping, singing, playing the bass, etc. Great show.
