About

THIEVERY CORPORATION IN CONCERT:

Lounge and electronica collective Thievery Corporation capture the sleek sounds of the international set with their chilled-out beats, worldly sonic palette, and lush synthscapes. Their mesmerizing and eclectic mix of bossa nova, acid jazz, trip hop, and a host of other genres had crate-diggers drooling with jealousy between sets at their 2013 shows, reminding fans just why they're one of downtempo's most beloved acts. With a highly anticipated new album due out in 2014, Thievery Corporation are set to blow minds once again on their upcoming North American tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Washington, DC's Rob Garza and Eric Hilton formed Thievery Corporation in 1995 as an outlet for their shared love of acid jazz, dub reggae, and Brazilian musical traditions. Using Hilton's Eighteenth Street Lounge as a base of operations, their early mixing sessions were a huge success, resulting in their 1997 debut album Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi. While the album was a minor success, it was their second record, The Mirror Conspiracy, that really put them on the map, led by the sweltering single "Lebanese Blond." Since then, they have continued to pioneer new directions in downtempo, headlining some of the world's biggest festivals and establishing themselves as legends of the genre.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"So talented and entertaining. Definitely worth seeing them live again soon."

"Absolutely rocked the place. Collaboration of old tunes with new and energetic stuff made it so special and enjoyable. The place was jamming! Loved it!"

"This is the third time I've seen Thievery Corporation and I must say they are one of the BEST live acts I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. If you have not seen them live you are doing yourself a horrible disservice."

One of the best shows I have seen in some time. Great show.

  • Still in Their PRIME!#@%!

    by G-Man on 9/9/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Incredible set at an incredible venue. Multiple vocalists and dueling drummers give the band so much energy. Lots of great tracks from Sounds From the Thievery Hi-Fi, Mirror Conspiracy, and Cosmic Game. My only complaint is I really like the last two albums and would have loved to have heard more from them. The track from Treasures From the Temple was one of their best.

  • Delivery corporation is awesome. Always.

The event its self was just amazing. First time seeing them and first time at the venue. The atmosphere was a unique and amazing experience.

  • Simply put … their music is like no other. Excellent.

It is a good idea to arrive WAY early, that way you don’t have to stress … 🫤.

Love the variation is sound that this band has. I call them an audio treat!

  • Quick revision/typo to my previous review

by Jessyca N on 9/8/25Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I meant to say 2 front row center seats PLUS “2 pit seats” but somehow it came through as “2 picture seats”. Please make that correction. It’s THE best way to see a great dance band at The Greek.

  • Best Band In The World .

by Big Daddy Delux on 9/8/25Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The most amazing band I have ever seen. How ever the sound engineer is. Please let him know. Don't let anybody tel him he can't mix drink. I just so amazed how could he or she made it sound in the pit.

  • An absolutely STELLAR show!

by Jessyca N on 9/8/25Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Just perfect all the way around… went with my best concert buddy David B from Newbury Park. We had ideal parking at “easy parking”, we had 2 front row center seats & also 2 pictures so we could dance when we wanted, then sit & drink when we wanted. The Thieves were fantastic as always. We make it a point to see them at The Greek every year. On Friday night we had a big (almost full) moon lighting up the night sky over the venue. PERFECT. I couldn’t have wished upon a star for a more gorgeous time & place.

  • Not what I expected.

by FlyingMøøseMan on 9/8/25Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

Unfortunately, there was a need to add this rapper to their (otherwise beautiful) songs. To me, that destroyed their songs. I came to see Thievery Corporation live, not to see a rap concert. My expectations were high after seeing TC almost three years ago at this Hollywood venue, I guess I won't go to a Thievery Corporation anytime soon. I rather enjoy their music from home, I guess.

  • amazing amazing amazing

by DG on 9/8/25Greek Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This band is UNBELIEVABLE!! I am so glad I saw them. It was my first time. I’ve been a fan of them for a long time but was not sure about seeing them live. I am so glad I did!! They have so many talented people in their band. They sing in six different languages. They have so many international vibes in their music! I highly recommend seeing them live!! I will always see them. Especially during an almost full moon at the Greek! Great venue.

  • An excellent quality concert!

    by V.V. on 9/7/25The Van Buren - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was just right. Excellent quality on sound. Easy access to public parking lots, restrooms and bar provided great drink options. The band was exceptional!! Highly recommended!! THANK YOU!!

  • Always a great show

by CJax on 9/7/25The Van Buren - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

My 4th time checking one of my favorite bands. The Van Buren always has amazing sound and mixing. The first show there they brought the kitchen sink with a full band and so many vocalist. Since then fewer and fewer show up and while still an amazing show, it fell a little short from what I know they can do.

  • Thievery rocked

by Barefoot on 9/7/25The Van Buren - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

Always an incredible show. This show was exceptional. Band has such a unique sound. Singers are so talented. Thievery never disappoints.

  • Worst concert ever!

by DM805 on 9/4/25Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 1 out of 5

Terrible sound and didn’t even sound like the band I’ve Been listening to for 20+ years. So sad.

  • Wanting more

by MarkC88 on 9/4/25Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 3 out of 5

I’ve been a Thievery Corporation fan for over 20 years, and this was my third time seeing them live. Their catalog has always pulled me in with its atmospheric, trippy grooves blending dub, bossa nova, and global rhythms. At the Grand Sierra Resort, they certainly showed their range—rotating singers, strong beats, and a mix of new material with classics. But for me, much of the show leaned too far into their harder, aggressive edge. While the energy was undeniable, I missed the hypnotic layers, harmonies, and immersive soundscapes that defined albums like The Mirror Conspiracy and The Richest Man in Babylon. I left wanting more of that transportive vibe that first made Thievery so unique.

  • Like a thief in the night… Bonfire!!

by Mick on 7/3/25Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Thievery Corporation concerts are social events. The audience becomes part of the show with songs and dance both on and off the stage. They are amazing! Their songs blend from one to another with endless ambiance! I’ve seen them a few times and when they come back to the area, I will be part of that event. Wonderful show!!!

  • Soundboard sucks

by Cracker on 7/2/25Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

First 40 minutes of show sound was muddled, the bass was overwhelming, I’m a huge Thievery fan but this was not my favorite show. I like it when they have an array of different female vocalists. I would like to see them at a different venue.

  • Great Show At Stubbs

by James on 7/1/25Stubb's Waller Creek Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

This show was great. The players were fantastic. The singing and rapping was significant. They played for a couple of hours.

  • Great show! Good set list. Drinks were ridiculously priced
