About

THIEVERY CORPORATION IN CONCERT:

Lounge and electronica collective Thievery Corporation capture the sleek sounds of the international set with their chilled-out beats, worldly sonic palette, and lush synthscapes. Their mesmerizing and eclectic mix of bossa nova, acid jazz, trip hop, and a host of other genres had crate-diggers drooling with jealousy between sets at their 2013 shows, reminding fans just why they're one of downtempo's most beloved acts. With a highly anticipated new album due out in 2014, Thievery Corporation are set to blow minds once again on their upcoming North American tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Washington, DC's Rob Garza and Eric Hilton formed Thievery Corporation in 1995 as an outlet for their shared love of acid jazz, dub reggae, and Brazilian musical traditions. Using Hilton's Eighteenth Street Lounge as a base of operations, their early mixing sessions were a huge success, resulting in their 1997 debut album Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi. While the album was a minor success, it was their second record, The Mirror Conspiracy, that really put them on the map, led by the sweltering single "Lebanese Blond." Since then, they have continued to pioneer new directions in downtempo, headlining some of the world's biggest festivals and establishing themselves as legends of the genre.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"So talented and entertaining. Definitely worth seeing them live again soon."

"Absolutely rocked the place. Collaboration of old tunes with new and energetic stuff made it so special and enjoyable. The place was jamming! Loved it!"

"This is the third time I've seen Thievery Corporation and I must say they are one of the BEST live acts I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. If you have not seen them live you are doing yourself a horrible disservice."

  • Thievery stole the show

Mesmerizing as always. Everyone was wonderful. Bring back Loulou!!

  • Solid "B"Performance

by Jim on 9/22/25Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 3 out of 5

I'm a big fan of Thievery Corp beginning from their melange of Bossa Nova, Dub and Jazz, not to mention the beautiful sitar licks. To my ears however, their more recent Hip Hop offerings don't fit comfortably with music that originally drew me to this talented duo and their musical friends. I don't think I'll be headed to another TC event anytime soon.

  • THAKS FOR THE STICK!!!

by INCREDIBLE!! on 9/18/25Malkin Bowl - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

this is the second time Ive seen them live and what an incredible performance. The pace , the sound the experience!! I truly enjoyed the outdoor venue to the last venue I saw them at. I was front row this time and couldn't have been happier . I brought my partner and he was mesmerized the entire time. As always Thievery Cooperation puts one one fantastic ride of a show!! To the drummer (JEFF?) AND THANKS FOR THE DRUM STICK !! you didn't stop for 2 hours !! Thanks for keeping the pace for us!! The entire ensemble are a can't seethe once type of performers!!!

  • Came on 2+ hours after they were supposed to.

by Benny on 9/16/25Rating: 2 out of 5

The day of the event, they emailed me saying the doors opened at 5:30, the opener started at 7, and the band would go on at 8:30. I arrived at 8:45, hoping to not waist my energy on the opener. But the opener played until 10:00, and Thievery Corporation didn’t go on until 10:15. Very minimal stage setup and they weren’t playing any of their well known songs. I ended up leaving 30 minutes into the show. I feel like they scammed me into sitting through their opener.

  • Great show , but

by Germs on 9/15/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

I find several shows at that venue - the bass is more rumbly, and the sound uneven from the balcony to the floor . In a theater with”good” acoustics, louder isn’t always better. The vocals were especially loud making the beat and sub bass the only other audible sounds further back . The sound was decent near the sound guy.

  • Great TC show after enduring the opener!

by Patrice on 9/15/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

If I could, I’d rate Thievery Corporation separate from the opener. So…the opener: a dude in a T-shirt rocked to himself in front of electronics and swayed to his own mix of songs including Cher - seriously? It felt like it went on f-o-r-e-v-e-r. People around us were complaining too. Which made Thievery’s energetic appearance all the more exciting!! And the entire show was that way. Fabulous! They played their most notable but varied songs spot on. The female lead (Laura Vall?) was amazing as were all the performers. Totally engaging show. Really glad we didn’t leave during the first “act”.

  • Sonic, acoustic, inspirational, trippy, love, amaizing!

by Chandler on 9/15/25Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been going to see the Thievery Corporation for many years, in many different areas of the world and all I can say is that this music unites people better than anything else on the planet! So many genres covered, so many important ideas discussed, and so much love spread! If you haven’t seen them, go!!

  • TOOOOO DAMN LOUD

by deafnow on 9/12/25Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was too loud. The seats in the mezzanine were vibrating like it was a Metallica concert. Even the acoustic set was uncomfortably loud...had to put in ear plugs! Never again!

  • Great show

Highly recommended! Fun and high-energy concert I had a lot of fun

  • Beautiful show.

Felt like the musicians were genuinely in tune and connecting with the audience. Best Thievery Corp show I’ve seen I think.
