Thee Sacred Souls on Tour

A silky-smooth soulful sound emanates from the San Diego, California-based R&B trio, Thee Sacred Souls. Known for their combination of R&B and soul, Thee Sacred Souls uses a number of different guitarists, keyboardists and backup singers when they perform live. Thee Sacred Souls consists of singer and songwriter Josh Lane, bassist Sal Samano and drummer Alex Garcia. Following the release of the debut self-titled album, this grooving and heartfelt band commenced their 2022 tour with stops across the United States. Their unique mix of '60s soul and '70s R&B creates a modern sound that is quickly attracting fans from around the globe, with one concertgoer writing, "It was amazing. One of my best times in my life."

The band first emerged onto the music scene in 2019, playing local shows around their native Southern California. Their debut singles,  "Can I Call You Rose?" and "Weak for Your Love," followed in 2020.  That same year they recorded "Give Us Justice," a deeply moving track in tribute to the lost lives of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.  In 2021, Thee Sacred Souls released two more singles, "Will I See You Again?" and "It's Our Love." Their self-titled debut album followed in 2022.

Thee Sacred Souls Live in Concert

Forming in Southern California in 2018, Thee Sacred Souls was started when Garcia and Samano discovered Josh Lane on Instagram after they were developing R&B instrumentals. The trio began jamming together and instantly meshed. Garcia and Samano both grew up in Chula Vista, an area of San Diego drenched in Chicano and Motown soul. Lane is a classically trained vocalist from Sacramento who grew up singing in church. The mixture of experiences and technique creates the beautiful sound of Thee Sacred Souls. After landing small gigs, the band was almost immediately discovered and signed to Daptone Records. Their success continued as their first singles accrued more than 10 million streams in a year and gained attention from major publications including Billboard and Rolling Stone. "Things just seem to happen naturally when the three of us get together", notes drummer Garcia on the band's website. Thee Sacred Souls' music has pieces of Chicano, Chicago, Philly, Memphis, and Panama soul sprinkled throughout their singles. With more than 1.2 million listeners on Spotify, with top songs "Will I See You Again?" And "Weak for Your Love" combining for more than 22 million streams, Thee Scared Souls is on a path to become a household name in R&B.

    Okay…

by Jessica on 1/1/24The Sound - Del Mar

Sacred souls were AMAZING but I’m basing my review on the venue. Way too small and over packed. We couldn’t even see them perform, just waves of people. I would have preferred it to be 18+ as there were a lot of teens. We left mid set because all we could do was hear them.

Performance was great too small of venue space

by Mia on 12/30/23Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The performances were awesome by opening Johnny Ruiz and the escapers and Thee Sacred Souls but the venue for that many people was super small

by CanICallYouRose on 12/10/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Loooove this band - this is my second time seeing them. They played all our favorites and we are excited for their second album to drop! And the Fillmore in Silver Spring is a fun, small-ish venue with great staff which rounds out a great experience.

    Timeliness

by Sunkissed on 12/10/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

There's no doubt this group so soooo talented! The age range of the fans amazed me from 18 to 75 I believe. The fans in the venue waited almost an hour for the 1st act to appear on stage. And Filmore had the AC on blast; but I will say the staff at the Filmore are simply amazing!!!

    Best first concert experience !!!

by Dina on 12/10/23The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

I saw Thee Sacred Souls last Saturday at the Filmore and it was such an ethereal experience! The band sounded great, everyone at the venue was super chill despite how packed we were. If you're a big fan I cannot stress enough how amazing they are live. If/when they go on tour again for their upcoming second album I won't be hesitating to buy a ticket!

    AMAZING!

by Karen A on 5/29/23Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

One of the best concerts I’ve gone too! Particle Kid was an amazing opener to start the show! Thee sacred souls were amazing from start to end. Josh is an amazing singer and can definitely turn just any concert to a personal and spiritual show. Josh walked around which made the show very personal which is not common nowadays. Once josh reached to where I was he was nice and said hello. I would definitely go again!

    Hands down amazing

by Brandy on 5/29/23Uptown Theatre Napa - Napa

Love this band , saw them before in Berkeley. Very personable, amazing vibe not to mention their sound just like no other. All ages come to hear them sing. The only feedback would’ve been the venue they played at in Napa. Horrible sound system, which did not highlight them properly. The opening act was of a totally different genre not for me. I would go see them again when they play in the area.

Great Show. Venue has gone downhill.

by MJ on 3/15/23The Van Buren - Phoenix

Thee Sacred Souls gave us all they had and the crowd wanted more. It was a wonderful crowd and the songs made us all feel together. My only complaint is that since the Van Buren venue was sold to LiveNation, it sucks! They removed the Martin Van Buren bust, the sounds dampening curtains to reduce the noise from the bar from coming into the theater, and ultimately, sucked the soul our of the venue. I would advise people to stay away from the Van Buren unless it's sold back to a caring owner instead of a lifeless, corporate entity.
