When I first saw the ad for Cirque Dreams I thought is was a Cirque Du Soleil show...my mistake. This was a rip off of Cirque Du Soleil but done very badly. The music was terrible, the acts were monotonous and the stage direction did not make sense.
This show never ceases to amaze me! Everything and everybody was fabulous, I just would have enjoyed seeing the juggler a bit more!
Not sure what I expected, but this exceeded it! The magic dress change still has me scratching my head! The show combined the best of circus/acrobatics with magic, singing & dancing. Overall it was amazing and the cast did a wonderful job!!
this was a great show, filled with gymnastics, acrobatics, music, and all around great family entertainment. I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely attend any future theater league presentations in town.
We enjoyed the production very much. The venue is always the star, with the friendly staff and the ambiance lends to a very memorable event! As for Cirque, it was very well-produced and the actors/acrobats/performers were amazing.
I have always enjoyed these types of events. The performances are always amazing and leaves you wondering how is it possible to do that. The acts combined with the music and lighting really gets you into the show. The sound was a bit off on this performance drowning the "reporter's" voice, but overall you cound hear her great voice. The show was really good, and would recommend it to anyone.
This was totally disappointing!!!! It was something a grade school would put on. Do not waste your time. There were only a couple of acts worth even watching. We almost left at the half-way point.
The show was very entertaining...alot of action and music on the stage at all times...and the acts were amazing. Vagabond act was very funny and involved getting people from the audience.
From my kids - they loved the cube aerialists best, they were so flexible and small, They commented on the clown trying to direct a movie using people from the audience was hilarious. My wife and I were mystified and amazed by the fashion illusionist/clothing magician - they danced and changed into outfits using a mere drapeover that was pulled away within seconds - we talked long afterwards on "how did they do that!". Last of all was the saxophonist - actress played it beautifully throughout the show. Well done, and worth mentioning to others.
Great seats, great ambiance, great show. Would definitely recommend.
I thought I was going to see more acrobatic performers, the ones they had were great, but the dancers around them were distracting. The singer was terrible and needs to be replaced.
The singing was awful, the circus acts were mediocre at best and the lyrics to the songs were poorly written. Overall, not a very good production.
While the acts were pretty good, it was 'waaay too much of a good thing -- the show should have ended at least 15 minutes before it did. The singer was totally superfluous, as you couldn't understand a word she sang because 1) the accompaniment was much too loud, and 2) she didn't enunciate clearly. Maybe if we could have understood the words the show might have been comprehensible, but as it was it was very chaotic and unorganized. There were too many "pedestrians" walking around on stage, causing distraction from the main acts as they performed. These "pedestrians" quickly became very irritating.
Absolutely fantastic performance by all. A great mix of talent and humor. We were with another couple and they also raved about the performance.
This is a awsome show. I would highly reccomend it for the whole family
The show was fantastic! Magnificent! The singing was awesome Color Purple is a show that I would go see every time it comes to town.
Color Purple was a beautiful show. Was very delighted that the show came through Phoenix and that I had the opportunity to see it.
We so enjoyed The Color Purple. The actors were wonderful, so talented, their performances and their voices. And the story was inspiring. I had never been to The Orpheum Theatre , I thought it was a beautiful theatre, and I am eager to return. We had good seats and the music sounded great. I had seen this show in NYC some years ago, it was wonderful there, but this performance was as good. My companion had never seen this production before anywhere, and she loved everything about it.
My daughter and I saw the play and we enjoyed every minute of the performance! The acting and vocals was unbelievable. I missed hearing "God Is Tryin' To Tell You Something" but that did not hinder any portion of the performance. Orpheum staff were polite, quick to assist and very professional. Our overall experience receives a 5 Star rating.
We loved the entire production. The cast couldn't have been stronger. There wasn't a weak character in the whole production. The actress in the role of Celie sings beautifully, and stands out amidst all the perfection as the shining star.
