The Zombies on Tour

An iconic British band of the 1960s, The Zombies created some of the most adventurous and wondrous pop songs of their era. Hits such as "She's Not There" and "Time of the Season" continue to be rediscovered by new generations of listeners who are just as wowed by these songs' ingenuity and richness as the Zombies' first audiences were.

Since returning to world stages as The Zombies in 2004, cofounders Rod Argent (vocals, keyboards) and Colin Blunstone (vocals) have made the band vital in the present, too. With Argent and Blunstone backed by guitarist Tom Toomey, bassist Soren Koch and drummer Steve Rodford, The Zombies have garnered wide acclaim for their new recordings as well as 40th and 50th anniversary tours for Odessey and Oracle, the group's still-spellbinding 1967 masterpiece.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, The Zombies performed dates with fellow music legend Brian Wilson on the Something Great From '68 tour, which launched at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in 2019.

The Zombies in Concert

The Zombies' six-decade saga began in 1962, when a group of music-crazed teens in the English town of St. Albans started their own band. After changing their name from The Mustangs and adding bassist and songwriter Chris White, The Zombies' potential became clear. Their first single for Decca in 1964, the plaintive "She's Not There," became a signature song of the British Invasion, reaching No. 2 in the U.S. and selling over one million copies.

In 1967, The Zombies set a new standard for pop with an album that would become as influential and revered as the very best of The Beatles. Odessey and Oracle fully demonstrated the gifts of White and pianist Rod Argent, who crafted beautifully ornate showcases for lead singer Colin Blunstone's voice alongside their own. "Time of the Season" became another major U.S. smash.

The original band split up by the time of the album's release, but White and Argent would soon have more success with their new band Argent. In the 2000s, Argent and Blunstone started a new chapter for The Zombies when they reunited for a series of tours, including a triumphant Odessey and Oracle 40th anniversary tour. New albums such as 2015's Still Got That Hunger are further proof of The Zombies' renewed vitality.

    The Zombies, a must see!

by Sobit618 on 6/24/13Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

It was an amazing concert. They truly enjoy entertaining. The band was tight, and the harmonies between vocalists just awesome. Listening and watching Rod Argent on the organ/keyboard was like watching a magician. Colin's voice sounds younger than ever....I will definitely see them again. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to see this band in my lifetime.

    Zombies don't disappoint!

by IPAguy on 6/24/13Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Hard to believe that Rod and Colin are 68!! Tremendous amount of energy. Colin's vocals are breathtaking. His voice is as strong as ever. One of the true signature voices of the rock genre. Rod is still the consumate showman. Jim Rodman on bass is a rock and roll legend. Recent addition Tom Toomey on lead guitar is awesome. They performed a great mix of new tunes and old faves. And on top of everything else, the venue was fabulous! Tremendous acoustics, great views, both inside and out. Not many bands from the '60's are still touring and even fewer can still hit all the notes and really rock it out! Young or old, you owe it to yourself to catch these classic musicians.

    Great experience!

by RustyvS on 6/22/13Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

We never had the opportunity to see the Zombies, and as a student in the 1960s, and a record collector, any time I discovered a 45 rpm I purchased it immediately. It was never a disappointment on A sides and B sides too! Colin is a unique voice in the rock world, and is truly worthwhile to see in person. Rod Argent is phenomenal on the keyboard, and a valuable experience for the audience to hear the explanation of tunes and history of the band. So glad they are together and touring, performances you'll recall for a long time.

    The Zombies rocked!!!!!

by zenith99 on 6/22/13Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

I went to the concert mainly just to hear, Time of the Season, as it has always been a favorite of mine. Didn't expect to know as many other songs as I did. Also did not expect to absolutely love their performance. Awesome musicians, and fantastic music. Would love to see them again and again....

    Zombies Rock On

by SixtiesStuck on 6/22/13Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Great show and a fabulous concert hall in Jim Thorpe, PA. Colin and Rod continue to deliver, and their interaction with the audience is 2nd to none. I like the new cuts, but I love the older hits. A little long on Hold Your Head Up. Could have been cut and added a few more from the canon. Why not give the base player a shot at a Kinks medley? That would be cool. This is about my 5th time, and I will go back whenever they are in the area.

    They killed!

by pj4900 on 6/15/13Bergen performing arts center - englewood

WOW! This was the 1st date of a months tour. Colin's voice was unbelievable. Spot on fantastic. Rod was also right on and very animated. Unbelievable from a couple of 67 year olds. Jim Rodford is on bass, his son Steve Rodford is on drums and an excellent guitarist Keith Airey completes the lineup. Great Band! Colin forgot his monitor ear piece at the start of the show so it took 5 minutes before they got started. They dedicated summertime to a little girl that was falling asleep on her Daddy shoulder in front. Airy gave a couple of young fans (8 year olds) the setlists at the end of the show as they left the stage. It was a great crowd who really appreciated them.Almost 2 hrs of bliss. Don't miss them if they are playing near you! The setlist was to the best of my memory which might be a song or 2 off.

    Time of the Zombies

by Docsports on 3/17/13Hard Rock - Biloxi

We saw the Zombies (ok Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent) last night at the Hard Rock. Never had the chance to see them in "the day" as they never really toured the South and broke up early. Blunstone's voice was still strong and he could still hit all the notes. He sang stuff from his Zombie days (including songs off the new album), solo, and Alan Parsons Project. Argent was his usual theatrical self and pounded the keys just like the old days. He is a great keyboardist as most of you know, even playing the piano on the Who's - Who Are You. Jim Rodford plays with them now and he was one of the original members of Argent and he had played bass with the Kinks. So of course they did Hold Your Head Up and my favorite Argent song - God Gave Rock and Roll To You. They did quite a few songs off Odessey and Oracle (an album I love and Allmusic gave the album five stars out of five, calling it "one of the flukiest (and best) albums of the 1960s, and one of the most enduring long-players to come out of the entire British psychedelic boom" They said from the stage that they never got to play any of the songs live because they had broken up right after the album came out, lol. The lead guitar player and drummer, were of course, younger and they could play - that's why they got hired, lol. Of all it was great music and fun to watch these old British rockers who still had it. Genny and I were both surprised at their enthusiasm and their stage presence. They talked to the crowd quite a bit and seem to have a good time. We bought the new album there (autographed of course, ha) and it is very good. Probably will not have a chance to see them, they only have a few American dates then they are back in England. But if they come back around I think everyone from the gang would enjoy them. Next week the Moody Blues at the Beau Rivage and then Clapton at the New Orleans Arena.

Absolutely spellbinding performance by The Zombies

by SiggyDoc on 3/15/13Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

This was one of the better concerts I have attended in recent years. Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent with the Zombies? Are you kidding me? These old classic rockers were superb. Great 4-part harmony vocals, tight, crisp song arrangements, good interaction with the audience. The band is comprised of virtuoso musicians who clearly love what they do. Many of the young bands today could (and probably should) take lessons from these guys. Thank you for presenting The Zombies. And please bring them back soon.

The Zombies show is the best show I've ever been t

by ddobbsrn on 3/12/13Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

I have seen the Zombies before and as before they were great. Rod's keyboards are fantastic, their band is great but my favorite thing is Colin's voice. He has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. They were so gracious to the fans at the meet and greet before the show also.

    The Zombies

by BobNeal on 3/11/13Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Absolutely Brilliant!! My wife & I saw these guys last year as well!! This show was top notched!! Colin's voice was excellent, & the rest of the entire band, (collectively & individually) were totally awesome!! Of course most everybody hears songs they would prefer to "exchange" for other favorites of personal choice., & I am no exception. "Show Me The Way" from their latest CD is OK, not great. "Hold Your Head Up" I wasn't crazy about back in the day, & now it's extended, louder than the other songs, & tends to bore me. In my own personal opinion, "Home" is one one the most incredible songs they've ever recorded, which would be a wonderful addition to the set, being more akin to the other Zombies songs. And also Colin recorded another "Beauty" some years back that would be a welcomed addition as well..."Emma My Dear" recorded with The Bolland Project. I love The Zombies & Colin's other projects, as well as his solo work. This show was most enjoyable, & we'll go back again the next time they're around!! Great Show!!

    Far From Dead!

by klogdup on 3/11/13Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

They may be the Zombies but these guys are far from dead! I thouroughly enjoyed this show. The musicianship was spot on and the group seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would have liked to have seen a few more extended songs; especially a bit more of Tom on some acoustic solos. If they come back, I certainly will too!
