About

The Zombies on Tour

An iconic British band of the 1960s, The Zombies created some of the most adventurous and wondrous pop songs of their era. Hits such as "She's Not There" and "Time of the Season" continue to be rediscovered by new generations of listeners who are just as wowed by these songs' ingenuity and richness as the Zombies' first audiences were.

Since returning to world stages as The Zombies in 2004, cofounders Rod Argent (vocals, keyboards) and Colin Blunstone (vocals) have made the band vital in the present, too. With Argent and Blunstone backed by guitarist Tom Toomey, bassist Soren Koch and drummer Steve Rodford, The Zombies have garnered wide acclaim for their new recordings as well as 40th and 50th anniversary tours for Odessey and Oracle, the group's still-spellbinding 1967 masterpiece.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, The Zombies performed dates with fellow music legend Brian Wilson on the Something Great From '68 tour, which launched at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in 2019.

The Zombies in Concert

The Zombies' six-decade saga began in 1962, when a group of music-crazed teens in the English town of St. Albans started their own band. After changing their name from The Mustangs and adding bassist and songwriter Chris White, The Zombies' potential became clear. Their first single for Decca in 1964, the plaintive "She's Not There," became a signature song of the British Invasion, reaching No. 2 in the U.S. and selling over one million copies.

In 1967, The Zombies set a new standard for pop with an album that would become as influential and revered as the very best of The Beatles. Odessey and Oracle fully demonstrated the gifts of White and pianist Rod Argent, who crafted beautifully ornate showcases for lead singer Colin Blunstone's voice alongside their own. "Time of the Season" became another major U.S. smash.

The original band split up by the time of the album's release, but White and Argent would soon have more success with their new band Argent. In the 2000s, Argent and Blunstone started a new chapter for The Zombies when they reunited for a series of tours, including a triumphant Odessey and Oracle 40th anniversary tour. New albums such as 2015's Still Got That Hunger are further proof of The Zombies' renewed vitality.

    Good memories

by GOTM on 10/22/23Brown County Music Center - Nashville

While the Zombies have a new album out and played some of these songs, it was the old favorites that I enjoyed the most. They are a great reminder of my youth and all that goes along with that time of life.

    They still have it

by ArmyGuy61 on 10/22/23Brown County Music Center - Nashville

First, the people that work at BCMC are incredible. The Zombies were magnificent. It’s amazing to have 2 people that have been with the band since 1961 and they still sound incredible. It was great to hear new music along with the classics. They definitely showed why they are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I would definitely see them again.

    Zone Out With The Zombies

by WordWise on 10/19/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

A little something old, a little something new, and lots of great music all around. What a fun night. I almost missed it if a friend didn't tell me about it. There should be better and more visible publicity for this group that's been around together for 60 years -- and sounds every bit as good as on their first album -- maybe even better! They're like wine that improves with age! So glad I had a chance to attend this enchanting, entertaining, engaging, engrossing evening!

Best show I've seen in years

by bkstefans on 10/10/23Alex Theatre - Glendale

I can't say enough about how great this show was. First off, there was great love for the Zombies in the audience given the trials and tribulations of their early history, breaking up just after they recorded their masterpiece Odessey and Oracle (yes, that's how it's spelled). They received a spontaneous five (I'm just guessing) standing ovation after "Time of the Season,"and many other ovations throughout. Second, though there were only two original members of the band, Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone, playing, they were in great form, and the other three musicians were personable and terribly talented. Rod on keys during some of the longer instrumental breaks was fantastic -- I almost felt like I was listening to a prog rock band at moments -- while Colin's voice has changed quite a bit since he was in his teens (when they recorded their early hits) but if anything gained a lot of tone and nuance. Thrid is how great the Alex Theater is. I'd never been there, but it was an awesome place to see music. Both grand and intimate. It was just weird seeing this band that is, in some sense, hitting their peak as a touring act while the two lead members are in their late 70s. The Rolling Stones would be envious of what these guys could do with just five band members on stage -- no backup singers, no video displays, no special guests, but far from "no frills."It was just music, great songs and community.

    Didn't quote got the mark

by Looney Tunes on 10/10/23Alex Theatre - Glendale

The Venue was great. We had fairly good seats. The performance was not as good as I would have expected. The choice of songs was lacking. I expected to hear more of the songs that made them famous

    Special events promotion

by Pro photo on 10/9/23Alex Theatre - Glendale

You had to be a real Zombies fan to rate this very high. The music was so so, but there was little showmanship. Only one song that was actually a cover, got the crowd going. And that was near the end of the show. While the venue was nostalgic and beautiful, it wasn’t designed for concerts and it showed. The sound quality was poor and it made it difficult to understand the vocals.

    Great show, but….

by EC on 10/9/23Alex Theatre - Glendale

Wonderful to hear the Zombies iconic songs played by the original artists who were in excellent form. But sound mix was way out of balance — bass and drums virtually drowned out vocals and guitar — and didn’t really need extended soloing on some of the numbers. But if you’re interested and have a chance to go, do so.
