Four years after forming in a London school, The xx unleashed their 2009 eponymous debut via Young Turks. The 11-track collection not only earned accolades from critics across the globe, but it also scored the U.K.’s coveted Mercury Prize and landed the dream-pop band in the limelight stateside. Singles from their indie-label foray graced American television programs like “Person of Interest” and “90210,” as well as a Karl Lagerfeld runway show and NBC’s coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Along with their own headlining theater tours and concerts alongside Friendly Fires, Hundred Waters and The Big Pink, the musical trio has performed at several festivals, including the Matt Groening-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties in 2010, Coachella, Sasquatch Festival and Lollapalooza, among others.
For their most recent effort, 2012’s “Coexist,” the indie pop outfit expanded their ticket-buying base with post-dubstep EDM influences. Though mellow, these touches can be heard in the album’s first two singles, “Angels” and “Chained.”

We were fortunate enough to see the xx in a small venue in Asheville. We didn't want to miss them this time around, so we made arrangements to see them in SF with the whole family (wife, 11 daughter, 15 son, and myself. This time around we were going to see them in a much larger venue, we were nervous, but ended up enjoying one of the best shows this year. Perfect visuals to match their music and voices. They take their concept of "I see you" to a whole other level, you will need to see them to understand what I mean. They see you, xx, we see you. thank you.
The stage set up and effects with the mirrors... Slight changes/remixes in some favorite songs that were an exciting twist, and they're naturally talented voices made experience awesome
Great show, high energy. Romy, Oliver and Jamie were so genuine.
I seen them live at Coachella 2013. It was electifying!!! It was beautiful, sensual and mezmorizing. Oliver-- OMG! I could see them over and over.
I have read a few reviews on here talking about how they were not too impressed with seeing The XX live so I went in with little expectations. I was completely blown away. The beats are much louder live which made the crowd instantly start dancing. The way Oliver and Romy play the bass and guitar together and sway, the lights that were completely in sync with the music, and even just their stage presence was hypnotic. I think I forgot to breathe during the encore. I never looked away from the stage. They sound so incredible live. Listening to the albums does not do them any justice. Seeing them in concert took them from a band I like to a band I love and will always attend when they are in my town. I'm in deep now.
The concert was great! All the songs they played sounded amazing live, and they played all the songs that the audience wanted to hear. They had an incredible light show where the songs were coordinated with the songs that were playing. It was very entertaining to watch and it made the music have a stronger impact. The artists were very excited to play in NY at Radio City Music Hall, and they were transmitting this positive energy with the crowd.
The concert was amazing!!! I do wish it was a little longer, but it's understandable. Chained is one of my favorite songs but they did like a different version of it... Kind of weird, didn't like it. Overall a great experience.
The XX was amazing. The venue was amazing. The food choices were great. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra came out and made it great. The lighting was awesome.
I digged the open bands. Got myself 3 new cds & a record from the Chromatics. The XX played a great set list and had great energy. Beautiful people started to dance around me. Had a great time. Loved the Orchestra at the end.
This has got to be one if my favorite shows so far. I was blown by their performance. I love how humble the band was. They kept thanking the fans. The opening bands were just as good. I would definitely go see them again!!!
Love everything except the first band. Great energy and loved the edition of the orchestra
The XX exceeded all expectations, sounded great, feel was right, seemed genuinely happy to be there
This is my fourth xx show, and the best. The scope was larger (Hollywood Bowl) so the sound and lighting were even more phenomenal. My favorite thing about them is that their songs transition so beautifully from one to another that the interval is just as riveting as the songs themselves. I loved when they bought the orchestra out and performed their encore, especially Great Gatsby hit 'Together'. Jamie and Romy are incredibly sexy when they play together and against each other- their stage flirting is perfectly fitting to the romantic tension in their music. All in all, amazing performance.
Great performance! They sound just like the album.
Venue is one of my favorites by far! The sound is excellent and every seat in the house is fantastic regardless of where you sit. Gotta love the XX!
The xx was great! Sounded perfect as usual. The venue was very nice as well
I've been a huge fan of this group for a few years now and have seen them live 2 other times before seeing them at the Hollywood Bowl. They sounded phenomenal and I love how they acted so excited/grateful to be performing at the bowl. The lighting/lazers were top notch and the encore was out of this world!
Awesome! Sound and production was great, encore included an orchestra!!
This is the second time I have seen them live and I'm blown away yet again. It's always so refreshing to go to a concert where the group sounds exactly the same as they do on the cd. Worth the money worth the time the hollywood bowl is a amazing venue.
