About

Four years after forming in a London school, The xx unleashed their 2009 eponymous debut via Young Turks. The 11-track collection not only earned accolades from critics across the globe, but it also scored the U.K.’s coveted Mercury Prize and landed the dream-pop band in the limelight stateside. Singles from their indie-label foray graced American television programs like “Person of Interest” and “90210,” as well as a Karl Lagerfeld runway show and NBC’s coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Along with their own headlining theater tours and concerts alongside Friendly Fires, Hundred Waters and The Big Pink, the musical trio has performed at several festivals, including the Matt Groening-curated All Tomorrow’s Parties in 2010, Coachella, Sasquatch Festival and Lollapalooza, among others.

For their most recent effort, 2012’s “Coexist,” the indie pop outfit expanded their ticket-buying base with post-dubstep EDM influences. Though mellow, these touches can be heard in the album’s first two singles, “Angels” and “Chained.”

This was my first time, but I already want to see them again on this current tour. The energy, atmosphere and entire performance was one of the best shows I'd ever seen. Their talent shines through, true genuine and humbled artists.

Great show! Only complaint is they only played for an hour and 20 minutes. Seemed kinda short.

The xx was a truly euphoric experience. They've captured my heart and soul. Their albums will never sound the same to me because their live performance was better than anything that could be compressed into a sound file.

The xx was an amazing experience to listen live. Simple yet effective visuals and they sounded great from my section. Definitely recommend it if the group is in your town.

  • You have to see the xx!

    by Koko17 on 4/27/17WaMu Theater - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The xx is an incredible live music act. They/their songs sound exactly the same as their studio versions. A couple of the old songs were remixed to give a new beat. They interact with the crowd and connect to you in such a large venue. Love them and their music!

  • Amazing set

by whit893 on 4/25/17Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

The xx for this tour had an amazing stage. The floor was lights and there was a raised see-through platform where one of them were and there were these massive light displays on both sides. It's really hard to explain, but there were a lot of lights and colors and reflections, the ceiling also moved. It was really remarkable. The xx were really good too, most of their stuff is slow but towards the end they did a few remixes and really got the energy going. You can tell that they were really into the music and they enjoyed what they were doing. They haven't toured often in the past so if you get a chance to see them you really should.
