This play was really bad. There was no music from the actual movie version of wizard of oz and the kids were super disappointed. The sound was also really off. It was either too low to hear or crackling the entire time. The lighting kept going on way too bright and my kids could actually see the actors hiding behind chairs to go back on the stage. They were so distracted by this they barely watched the play. Big disappointment!!!!!!
I was so disappointed!!! They had no souvenirs except for a sword and wand. This is a kiddie show and they had no real kid food. No hot dogs or chicken nuggets. What kid eats wraps and panninis? I tried to be positive but the show had not one song that we recognized I understand there are rules about using music but then don't call it the wizard of oz. The characters forgot lines and words to songs I have been to several kiddie shows at westbury including scooby doo and was always satisfied. The wizard of oz was a BIG disappointment. The highlight for my son was getting a free Star Wars sack from Verizon in the lobby.
What a great time I had taking my 3 year niece. She loved every minute, fell in love with the characters, and now loves a classic, I could not be a happier Aunt. Having shows on Tuesdays at 11am are such a great way for children to experience new things. Thank you
We were ready to hear the same classic songs- the songs might have been ok if you were not expecting the regular wizard of oz songs.
My 5 yr old daughter absolutely loved the production. Her favorite part was the scarecrow. She still cracks up about him not knowing how to walk and falling all over the place. As always, the Children's Theatre did not disappoint.
The children's production was a delight for the entire family. I would highly recommand the cheap seats however, lots of small kids that got squirmy sittting around us were a major distraction. Overall....good performance and good venue.
I had very high hopes for this play due to the movie , I had purchased the tickets for my daughters fourth birthday. She enjoyed the building more then the play I feel as though all her favorite parts were rushed though and cased her not to pay attention for the rest of the play. The cast did a Great job, and though we will pass the next play up, it is off of our bucket list for now.
So happy I was able to enjoy this with my daughter and grandchildren. The theater was easy to get to and the performance was enchanting.
Our family liked the musical but it seemed extremely short. For the price of the tickets, we felt it should have been longer than the 70-75 minutes it was. Money these days is tight and this was our special "day out" (we don't have very often). So, it was a little disappointing that it went so very quickly.
Outstanding children's production. The sets were wonderful, the effects excellent and the actors just great. I attend these children's productions when my friend's son is in them. The Children's Theatre productions have been first rate and fun.
I was so impressed with the Children's Theatre and the producton of "the Wizard!" It was very authentic, humorous, and enjoyable for all ages. The sets were impressive and the costumes very colorful. All the actors did a fantastic job. We will definitely return!
I have attended The Children's Theatre with all of my kids and it NEVER disappoints. The shows are less than an hour long and the kids are always amazed. It's a great intro to the theater for you children.
