The Warning In Concert

When The Warning debuted before the world, the headlines were eye-popping. "These Girls Started a Totally Badass Metal Band and Their Bassist Is Only 10" was at the top of a BuzzFeed News article. People begged readers to "Stop Everything and Watch These Teen Girls Play Metallica's Enter Sandman."

The Villarreal Sisters did exactly that — they covered "Enter Sandman" on their YouTube channel in 2014. More than 18 million views later, the sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, are signed to Nada Mas Records and have opened shows for Def Leppard and The Killers (they also were the first Mexican band to ever appear on The Ellen Degeneres Show).

But teens Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra proved to be much more than just a viral sensation. They have toured through Mexico, played in much of the United States, and graced festival stages alongside heavy metal stars like Mastodon, Iron Maiden, and even Ozzy Osbourne at Corona Hell & Heaven in Mexico City. Led by Daniela's authoritative vocals, Paulina's sinister drumming (which has garnered praise from Metallica's Kirk Hammett), and a menacing live show, The Warning can flat-out shred.

The Warning Background

Hailing from the northeastern Mexican city of Monterrey, Daniela and Paulina — the two oldest Villarreal sisters — started taking piano lessons while their parents exposed them to contemporary rock bands like Muse and AC/DC. In 2007, when the sisters were 6 and 8 years old, they took to playing the Rock Band video game while their three-year-old sister, Alejandra, looked on.

As they got older, the girls set down the video-game instruments in favor of guitar (Daniela), drums (Paulina), and bass (Alejandra) and started recording their rehearsals and uploading them to a modest YouTube channel. It was all just fun and games until a 2014 YouTube clip of the sisters playing Metallica's "Enter Sandman" went viral and changed the course of their lives.

It led them to record their debut EP, Escape the Mind, in 2015 and continue to capitalize on their newfound notoriety playing high-profile shows in Mexico. As their introduction to the world has progressed and people have recognized them as bona fide artists, The Warning have released two LPs — 2017's XXI Century Blood and the polished 2018 Nada Mas follow-up, Queen of the Murder Scene.

The Rock Band you didn't know you needed in your life!

    by Gman on 8/20/23

After 10 sold years of kicking down doors, these amazing three sisters... Guitarist Daniella 23, Drummer Paulina 21, Bassist Alejandra 18, from Monterrey Mexico, are taking the world by storm! They have filled the void that has been sorely lacking for the last 30 years in the rock scene. Their high energy shows are intense, and done with talent, experience, and a ferocious drive as all three sing leads and harmonies, absent of gimmicks, and performance crutches to distract. They simply grab an instrument, and either tear your heart out, make you want to jump and sing, or just rip your face off with raw power and grit. The roller coaster of emotions, and the variety of rock they share with us in the crowd, comes from their hearts, and the passion they have is undeniably real. They simply love what they do, and have been doing it since little kids. Ask Major artists they have toured with what they think of them. Matt Bellamy & Lzzy Hale both gifted Dany the eldest, lead singer, and the only guitarist, brand new custom guitars, as a thank you for reminding them of what that raw, unbridled passion for the music is for them. Dany in return plays them both at the shows in return. Members of Bands such as Three Days Grace, and Halestorm and more, have joined them on stage to play their songs. It's just that much fun! In 2023, they have just finished their 3rd leg of their "ERROR"Tour in a sold out show at The Bottom Lounge in Chicago. The crowd participation was epic right out of the gate, and until after they left the stage. Weather they are playing for 1,000 or 50,000, no matter what continent, country, or venues....They love the crowds, and the crowds love them. There is no denying it. I whole heatedly recommend seeing this band live. Travel to them, if they can't come to you, they are 100% worth it! Hope to see you at a show! ⚡

    They Rocked

    by S_Hart on 8/20/23

I have been a fan of The Warning for a few years now and had been wanting to see them live but circumstances since2018 kept preventing me from being able to attend a concert. But...it was worth the wait. They were good when I first started listening to them but now, they are GREAT. As a Patreon, I was able to get VIP Meet and Greet tickets to the show. Didn't get to say much to them but got a couple of autographs. The show itself, rocked from beginning to end. In time I believe they will be selling out larger venues so if you haven't had a chance to see them, I would do it before tickets are hard to get. I will definitely go see them again as I have VIP tix to the show in their hometown of Monterrey, MX and am also going to try and see them in Tiajuana on Nov 18, which is my birthday.

Best Concert I Have EVER Attended

    by SteveSoll23 on 8/20/23

The Warning put on the best concert I have ever had the pleasure of attending! It was a rather small venue (perhaps about 500 capacity), but The Warning put on a show with the energy and emotion of a stadium show. No words can describe how good they are, how amazing the sound was, and how much raw power was in that room. If you ever have the opportunity to see this band live, do yourself a huge favor and go!!!

by Warning Fan Skip W on 8/19/23

What a great live band! The Warning is a band that's going to be around for awhile; if you get a chance to see them live, do it. I've been going to concerts since 1982 and this is one of my top ten experiences! Rock on, Warning.

the Warning at Bogarts, Cincinnati, Ohio

    by Larry F on 8/18/23

I have been a fan of The Warning for about four years, Bogart's was my second time to see them live and it was a fantastic evening. The Warning is a band that shows up to perform at a high level each and every time. Its a high energy show with plenty of great music. Many of their songs are written with crowd involvement in mind. It might be easy to initially dismiss The Warning as a "gimmick' band, but the Villareal sisters, Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra work hard to provide a memorable live show. For the show at Bogarts, I was able to get near the stage and caught the full effect of their energy. Daniela, (Dani) guitar and Paulina, (Pau) drums are the main vocalists, while Alejandra, bassist, provides backing and harmony vocal, sometimes taking lead. Their show started with a full on banger called Disciple, and never let up. During the song, Dust to Dust, the drummer, Pau, takes the lead on the verses with her clear, powerful vocals while drumming with full energy. The Warning is a hard rock band the needs to be heard. I encourage everyone not familiar with them to dive into their music catalog. The is a band not to be taken lightly.

No Words Can Describe How Good They Are

by Steve Has Been Warned on 8/18/23

The Warning are the best thing to happen to rock music in a long, long time. Their recordings are all amazing, but nothing can prepare you for the experience of seeing them perform live. The power, the precision, the harmonies, the raw energy - if you ever have the chance to see The Warning live, you owe it to yourself to jump at the opportunity!

    Raw and Refined Talent

    by Old Rocker on 8/18/23

I have been following these (now young women) for about 10 years. I am awestruck by their development. These sisters are truly great musicians that harmonize beautifully and whose timing and synchronization was flawless. All in all...a great show!!!

    Great Show!

    by Music fan on 8/18/23

I discovered The Warning last fall and have been waiting for a chance to see them live. It was a great show! My daughter, who is a musician commented that they sound like the recordings and she is right. Great energy and passion on display. I have seen hundreds of shows of all kinds of music and this one is in my top 10. They have renewed and refreshed my hope for the future of rock music.
