About

The Warning In Concert

When The Warning debuted before the world, the headlines were eye-popping. "These Girls Started a Totally Badass Metal Band and Their Bassist Is Only 10" was at the top of a BuzzFeed News article. People begged readers to "Stop Everything and Watch These Teen Girls Play Metallica's Enter Sandman."

The Villarreal Sisters did exactly that — they covered "Enter Sandman" on their YouTube channel in 2014. More than 18 million views later, the sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, are signed to Nada Mas Records and have opened shows for Def Leppard and The Killers (they also were the first Mexican band to ever appear on The Ellen Degeneres Show).

But teens Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra proved to be much more than just a viral sensation. They have toured through Mexico, played in much of the United States, and graced festival stages alongside heavy metal stars like Mastodon, Iron Maiden, and even Ozzy Osbourne at Corona Hell & Heaven in Mexico City. Led by Daniela's authoritative vocals, Paulina's sinister drumming (which has garnered praise from Metallica's Kirk Hammett), and a menacing live show, The Warning can flat-out shred.

The Warning Background

Hailing from the northeastern Mexican city of Monterrey, Daniela and Paulina — the two oldest Villarreal sisters — started taking piano lessons while their parents exposed them to contemporary rock bands like Muse and AC/DC. In 2007, when the sisters were 6 and 8 years old, they took to playing the Rock Band video game while their three-year-old sister, Alejandra, looked on.

As they got older, the girls set down the video-game instruments in favor of guitar (Daniela), drums (Paulina), and bass (Alejandra) and started recording their rehearsals and uploading them to a modest YouTube channel. It was all just fun and games until a 2014 YouTube clip of the sisters playing Metallica's "Enter Sandman" went viral and changed the course of their lives.

It led them to record their debut EP, Escape the Mind, in 2015 and continue to capitalize on their newfound notoriety playing high-profile shows in Mexico. As their introduction to the world has progressed and people have recognized them as bona fide artists, The Warning have released two LPs — 2017's XXI Century Blood and the polished 2018 Nada Mas follow-up, Queen of the Murder Scene.

Best new rock band out there

by Dan on 5/6/22Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens - Boston

The Warning have been around for several years. Three sisters / siblings from Mexico with a mission to revitalize classic-flavored rock, the honest way. They are starting to get the recognition they have worked very hard to deserve. If you can catch them, do it! They are absolutely fantastic live and if there is a chance to see them at a small venue, do not miss that opportunity. It is very likely that the chance to do so will be lost to larger stadiums and outdoor festivals very soon. Nothing wrong with the big shows, but if you go to concerts you know the attraction of top performing acts in a smaller intimate settings. This band is one to see!

    Simply Awesome

by Thom on 5/6/22Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens - Boston

This was such an incredibly fun show. And the ladies were phenomenal. This is what live rock and roll should be. Good music, done well, engaging, and seemed to be truly enjoying playing for the crowd. If you haven't seen them yet, do it.

    Watching the Warning live

    by Longhorn on 6/19/21

Back in July 2018 I was lucky enough to get to go to Monterrey . The Warning,s hometown they were playing a private show and little did I know I was there to see Paulina sing her song Copper bullets . That weekend Daniella had problems talking her voice was a little down because of there relentless touring all across Mexico . I had gone to see them in Saltillo at the Dogma bar . Ale layed down all her bass lines with perfection. Just because they are sisters from Monterrey doesn't matter they know how to write and play Rock and roll as good as any band on the planet . You want regret seeing these young ladies. As they say you have been warned.🤘🇨🇱

The future of rock is NOW

    by Rick S on 6/14/21

I've seen the rock legends of the 80s in their prime. They have nothing on these girls. I've seen them play back to back sold out shows at the Whisky a Go Go. I've seen them play for a crowd of 50 in a rural town in Mexico. They bring it every single time. If you like rock, these girls are for you. Power, emotion, ENERGY, passion, and loud. Don't forget loud. If you get the chance to see them, take it. If you haven't heard of them yet, you will soon. VERY soon.

The Future of Rock Has Its New Champion

by OCRock on 10/15/15House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

From the moment they started there wasn't a dull moment. With the girls entering the stage one at a time playing was a good move. They played very well. Not just for their age but for any age. Nice covers. Nice originals. Little Ale is the next Angus Young with the way she moves. Pau is one heck of a drummer. Dani, well she is so talented. So clean on the guitar while singing too. Thanks to these little ladies the future of rock looks bright. I look forward to seeing them again.
