The Used in Concert
Bursting onto the scene with the tense crunch of post-hardcore guitars and singer Bert McCracken's piercing shriek in the early aughts, The Used were stalwarts of the "screamo" sub-genre, drawing comparisons to contemporaries in Thursday, Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance. Always a formidable live act, The Used are as closely aligned with the hard rock acts of the 80s as they are with their post-hardcore brethren, with vocalist McCracken lending his plaintive howl to his bandmates' razor-sharp maelstrom and a full battery of strobe lights. Their latest full-length album Vulnerable featured more overly theatrical flourishes and led with the single "I Come Alive." They supported the album with the Vulnerable Tour 2012 and reissued the album as a two-disc set that included B-sides and rarities, called Vulnerable (II) in March 2013.
The Used are unlikely exports of Orem, Utah, a place not known for hard rock. That didn't stop guitarist Quinn Allman, bassist Jepth Howard, drummer Branden Steineckert and McCracken from playing the local clubs before touring to support their 2002 self-titled debut. Their reputation as a live act saw them punch their ticket for coveted spots on the Warped Tour and Ozzfest. 2004's In Love and Death, which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Top 200, announced their arrival to the big leagues, spawning singles, "Take it Away," "All That I've Got" and "I Caught Fire." In 2006, the band replaced longtime drummer Branden Steineckert with Dan Whiteside and released their fifth album Vulnerable through their own label, Dental Records. The band embarked on a series of concerts to support the album that summer. The Used released an EP of new material titled The Ocean of the Sky the following summer. Currently, the band is rumored to be going on tour in 2014, but no official announcements have been made.
The Used are touring on the Rockstar Energy Drink DISRUPT Festival in 2019. The touring festival features unique lineups in each city, including The Used, Thrice, Circa Survive, Sum 41, The Story So Far, Atreyu, Sleeping With Sirens, Andy Black, and more.

I’ve been with them all 25 years and they never disappoint!!! Thank you for a great night!!!
Hands down the best show I've ever seen! I love the used!
I enjoy coming to Old National for shows and love how fair parking and concessions are compared to other venues. I tend to shy away from bigger venues, due to greed and price gouging. Old National is one I actually enjoy attending and gladly come to shows there. I have been to empty shows and packed, and never feel like I can't move or enjoy the show. My only complaint is lack of bathrooms when there is only one show that night. They close off the rest of the venue and sometimes those lines at the Egyptian Room get crazy long. I would recommend a better setup for merch, as it makes a big bottleneck heading towards the restrooms and back area. At Night 1 of the Used, there was a huge unused section that would have been much better for it and less clog trying to get past people. I do appreciate how they run the lines and really have minimal complaints. Will be back tonight for another show.
Great to hear some of my favorite jams from the original 2002 album. Always a good time at the house of Blues.
And yes, I wrote this while at work. Yes, some of us gooners have j-j-j.... JOBS!!!
The Used always puts on an incredible show and their 2nd date for Dallas (10/23) was no exception; I’ve been coming to the House of Blues (DALLAS) for years, since I was 15 - to get to see one of my all-time favorite bands at my favorite venue, which is just the right level of intimate, was a treat. I’d have gone to every date for Dallas if time allowed, but hearing In Love and Death live was spectacular. Thanks, The Used! Best band in the world :)
It's one thing to have the crowd sing the songs- I get it, no one can scream like that forever...and...night one was giving nothing. Bert just stood there. He's usually at least funny and talks to the crowd but he often just stood in silence. Fine, maybe I'll be able to get a picture- NO. The stage is designed so you can't see the band at all, on monitors, in pictures, even in person. I understand not wanting people to record the entire show, and, it's insulting to pay hundreds of dollars to see a band, then not even be able to see them because they're completely backlit with constantly flashing lights. It was truly a departure from when I saw The Used in 2020. I would not recommend this show to anyone. The merch line was not out of control, which was appreciated, although a 15% tip on merch is outrageous considering everything else. It wasn't enjoyable, it seemed like a money grab honestly.
The Used has been my favorite band for over 20 years now and they still give me chills seeing them live. 🖤
The concert it's self was awesome. However I'm pretty upset I drove from cumberland Maryland to New York to attend a concert to a album I knew one song. I'm hoping when they perform in Philly the set list of the albums they will be playing will be listed upon arrival/before the date of the concert. I'm only trying to hear the first two albums not any others. I read the 3 day concert consists of the first three albums but also just read a review how they played the fourth album at a recent one. Please fix that issue? Can we post what albums are supposed to be played at the event? As I'm not trying to go to a concert and not be able to feel the whole vibe. I need to be screaming the firat two album in whole with everyone in the room. Kindly pleaseee. You're only performing for 45 mins, least you can do is provide the albums youll be playing the three nights your in Philly before I make another trip fir nothing. Thanks
