The show was pretty good. Fee Waybill is still a showman, and interacted frequently with the crowd - but his voice seemed weak at times. They definitely seemed to enjoy playing for the crowd...... they did a solid 90 minute show. The last three songs made the night for us.....White Punks on Dope was great, followed by She's A Beauty and Talk To Ya Later as encores.
I last saw the Tubes in the mid 80's, and what a great show that was - both musically and theatrically! 25 years later, though not as large as they used to be - the band still put on a great show! Fee Waybill is as animated as ever and sounds great! Roger Steen was phenomenal and Prairie Prince is always amazing. New keyboardist Robert Berry did the band proud! Rick Anderson seemed a little tired but held his own. The highlight of the evening was the band hanging around after the gig to meet/greet with their fans, take pics and sign autographs. Not often do you see that kind of fan appreciation these days - without paying out a whole lotta bucks or winning the lottery!! We also loved the Bears Den and plan to go back often. What a great place - not a bad seat in the house, intimate setting and the sound was perfect.
This show was great! What a truly great and legendary band The Tubes are! If you're thinking they've lost any of their edge, I can tell you they certainly haven't. If anything they've improved over time. Phenomenal musicians and a highly entertaining show. If you've ever thought about going to see these guys, don't delay! You won't be disappointed!
every time I see The Tubes it's like I'm partying with my old buddys. they were good as usual, great musicianship and banter with the audience. The venue was nice in Napa, the Uptown was within walking distance of the hotel I was at. Pablo Cruise was a good warm-up act, I had forgotten how many of their songs I used to party to.
Great venue, great tunes!!. Pablo Cruise was fantastic (once they got the sound board mixed right, about 5 songs in). Wonderful tunes performed well. I had forgotten how "musical" they are, going on long jam riffs. Steven Price on drums has improved with age!! I was saddened to learn of Bud Cockrell's recent passing, though. The newest member is excellent on Bass and vocals. The Tubes were a blast, especially the last five songs. What a show.
5th time to see the Tubes and they still have a great show.got autographs and greeted the band afterwards.Uptown Theatre is a nice venue.A great time.WOW
The Tubes were great! Fee as Quaalude was classic. The many costume changes were unbelievable. The only bad moments were when Fee Waybill talked too much about Annette Funicello's breasts and using the F-word. Mixed age group crowd, many left when the talking didn't improve. Unfortunately, they missed a great show. Less talking, more music!!! Totally Tubular.
WHAT can I say that has not been said before about The Tubes??? If you know who they are then you know them! You never know what happens with the band especially with Fee Waybill, he is great and he still looks great!
My husband and I have been singing loudly to The Tubes for 30 years. My dear friend, Cookie, who is a fine and commercial knows one or all of them. My close friend, Tamara, (when I couldn't go) has brought me a signed tee or drumstick. That said, Fee's voice, the amazing orchestral changes within each song and, of course, the costume changes are killer, which makes them a one of a kind musical experience. My other friend, Justine, is a wearable designer. The Tubes music is a wearable art performance. Please don't ever stop until one or all of us can reach the high notes or even hear the high notes. And, Fee, keep up the ever subtracting washboards abs and irreverentacy.
Great Show... Fee Waybill still puts on a Great Performance... Fun show, the songs never get old and you can't beat the lyrics... Face it there is no band like the Tubes with the great Fee Waybill doing his thing...

we really enjoyed Pablo Cruise but left after the Tubes started reeling off 4 letter words and playing songs that did not inspire !
This venue is beautiful (not a bad seat in the house - nice small venue), however...to put the Tubes with Pablo Cruise was absolutely crazy. Two very different acts. I was surprised that for such a gorgeous theater the sound was horrible. It was way too loud and mixed poorly. I was ready to support the venue hands down until the bands began to play and the sound was so poor. I enjoyed Pablo Cruise but they were so loud the highs notes in the vocals hurt the ears. The Tubes where probably fine for who they were but really didn't match up with PC. My ears were ringing all the way home and not in the good way.
I could not BELIEVE my ears and eyes.... The TUBES were absolutely amazingly good... I was stunned and felt extremely honored to be there to see them.
Had an awesome time. Always have fun at the Tubes concerts. Still the same fun shows. Crazy Fee, gotta love him.
Pablo Cruise and The Tubes played like they played back in the old days. Fee wore his crazy shoes and kept losing his shirt! Had a front row seat so I got to see all the cool guitrars and got to shake their hands. Excellent show!
We saw Pablo Cruise and the Tubes at the Uptown Theater in Napa. The uptown is a great venue Good acoustics, roomy seats, plenty of nice helpful Ushers. I really enjoy the intimacy of the theater. We have enjoyed PC over the years and they did not let us down this time - Solid Performance and we got what we came for. We have also seen the Tubes before and expected some “out their acting” from Waybill. They opened with a nice acoustic and got the house going. Then Waybill walks out guzzling a bottle of Whisky and goes into a profane verbal abuse of anyone that didn’t agree with his personal agenda. OK whatever but another 5 minutes about Annette Funicello chest size as seen through a 9 year old boy, c’mon. We just what to hear some good rock. Bill focus on what you are good at Rock and Roll! Get to know your venue and perform accordingly.
What a great venue to see a show. We went becuase of Pablo Cruise, but ended up having a great time. We will definitely return to Napa to see more shows.
I have seen the Tubes several times in the past and they never disapoint. What a great and entertaining show. And for the fisrt time I had the pleasure to meet Fee and Roger after the show. It is one of my best rock moments and I shall never forget it.
Getting a good seat at BB kings is quite an experience. Big bouncers bullying you to stand in this line, then that line. Forcing people to show Blue tickets that barely anyone was given. Making people who showed an hour early "move to the back of the line" ... A miserable experience for anyone who just wanted to get in and see this amazing band. But the tubes made up for it. A tour de force of their biggest hits, obscure gems and a few covers that rocked the room. A MUST SEE! (just not at this horribly run club).
