The Thorn Tickets

The Thorn was, in a word, fantastic! I will admit, my husband and I wondered how on earth they could portray the life and death of Jesus through live theater. This theater performance not only did a fabulous job of portraying this, but they took you through every emotion from laughter to tears. I would be remiss if I didn't give grand kudos to the actor that played the elderly disciple John. What a wonderful narrator. The Thorn is a must see for young (not too young) and old alike. Bring tissues for tears of joy and sorrow.

I absolutely loved I couldn't not control the tears in the second half I felt like I was there during Jesus sacrifice

Theater was packed! The show was surprising-really entertaining. I learned a lot about Jesus’s life—from before he was born until his crucifiction & resurrection. And there was humor in it! Not boring at all. Narrated by a VERY ELDERLY entertaining John. He was funny. I would go again!!

I love the story of Jesus with the humor of John. I love that it made me very aware of the spiritual warfare that we face every day of our lives.

This play definitely followed the words of the Bible! I loved the character of John-his humor balanced the heart wrenching life of our Savior!

A production that leaves you thinking about life itself and stays with you for days after the production.

I laughed. I cried. I felt unity, and I felt loved. This performance was out of this world! Whoever is reading this, GO. You’ll be glad you did.

First time in the Dow Event Center and looking forward to the next, real nice place and the staff was very helpful to anyone needing their assistance. Easy access to the venue from the parking lot and seating was large and very comfortable

The entire performance was exceptional. Outstanding cast, wonderful choreography and dancing, truly exceptional storytelling. The stagecraft was very impressive, the music was wonderful, the costumes were convincing. The actor portraying John the Beloved was quite talented and gave an impressive performance. Very grateful that they brought The Torn to Saginaw.

I was blown away at how well done this performance was. The acting especially by “old man” John was on another level . I cant wait for this to come to town again so i can take the whole family next time!

The Thorn was above and beyond awesome! If it comes to Saginaw again, I'm buying tickets for many of my family...It is a must see!!! ❤️

First the only way to enter was through scannable tickets on our phone (no printable tickets). Then we had to scan them ourselves. We are an older couple and were nervous about this. The price seemed a bit high for seats up in the rafters and it was quite hot up there, The production was very loud, the lights glaring and the sound system was not very good. It was really hard to make out what was spoken. The lights were also glaring. After spending over $50 for rafter seats, we didn't appreciate almost being forced to stay in our seats at intermission for a sell for compassion international. We left during intermission after we were allowed to leave our seats. Would not recommend.

It was an outstanding performance! Talented artists. It made you think, laugh, cry, and ponder.

The Thorn was nothing short of amazing. Everyone should see it. The acting, the visual effects, and story portrayal were all great. If they return to Columbus Ohio with this show again I will be sure to bring more people to it, because as I stated earlier everyone should see this.

Overall, this is well worth going to see however, if you are sensitive to loud booming music, I would highly recommend bringing noise canceling headphones. Additionally I would recommend bringing sunglasses, because the bright white lights used in this show were blinding. Had I known I would have had a far more enjoyable evening.

I would highly recommend this performance to everyone! It was so wonderful to see such a powerful display of Christianity on stage! God‘s ultimate gift to all of us was truly brought to life! I hope it returns to Columbus again!

Well done and well told. Amazing visuals, sorry telling, and acting! A truly talented, theologically orthodox Christian performance!
