I went to the On Center with hopeful anticipation. I had no concept on just how wonderful this production was to be. The choreography was incredible. The lighting and backdrops were so impressive. It was funny, poignant, spiritual, and true to Bible. Thank you for such an awe inspiring evening.
What a stunning presentation of the life of Jesus. The narration, acting, dancing, aerial artists, make-up, costumes and design were so breath taking and felt so real. The second half of the show brought me to tears, as it always does when I see an innocent man tortured and murdered for bringing love and kindness to the world. Each section of the stage told His story from birth to death. It was fabulous! This is a must-see event. It is so worth it!!
Whether you’re familiar with the story and details, The Thorn is done in a clever, entertaining way and visually stunning. Thank you for believing we would come. :)
Definitely worth it to go see! Such a unique performance, but told the story of Jesus and his love flawlessly.
The show was absolutely amazing! I really enjoyed it! And the fact that my daughter went with me to see it - even better! (And we know my mother was there with us in spirit! <3)
This was awesome! We really enjoyed it. I have two reasons why I didn’t give 5 stars. The first was the 5 minute door hold at the beginning of the show. We were sitting and waiting and the show did not start right at 1 o’clock. It was a few minutes after 1 and a person working the venue said that there was still 10 minutes until the show was going to actually begin. So we went and used the restroom and came back, it has only been about 5 minutes. We missed the doors shutting by about 10 seconds and they would not let us in. So we (and about 20 other people on both sides) missed the entire opening scene. They then allowed you in. So now that the lights are all off, everyone is using flashlights to get back to their seat climbing over everyone who is already engaged with the show. The other people I was with thought that was more distracting.
It was a breathtaking experience all the way through! Highly Recommend!! I would watch again!!
We were blown away. Story so well done and the music, acting, dancing, special effects --- all amazing.

It was hands down the most AMAZING show I’ve ever seen! Such a beautiful rendition of The Gospel -so visually captivating. I can’t say enough besides- YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!!
This presentation was visually stunning. Saint John, the narrator, was perfect in his contribution and made the story relatable for today’s audience. I absolutely recommend experiencing The Thorn. It makes you laugh, cry and reminds us of why we are here, where we came from as humans and reminds us to always be kind. Truly pleasant surprise. . . I sure hope it comes back to Syracuse again next year!!!
The show kept you entertained the whole time, it was also very emotional the 2nd half, I laughed and cried, I would definitely see it again all the actors were amazing.
It made me want to learn more and to be a better person. They all did such a phenomenal job. I am glad I was able to see this.
Stunning visuals, amazing acrobats - Old John was the narrator and he was great and very funny. But if you do not know the Bible much of this would have not made sense as John was the only speakers except for the scene with Pontius Pilate. As far as the Venue goes, there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Matter of fact we sat in the very last row in the mezzine and it was a great view.
The thorn was absolutely fantastic. It was entertaining. It was exciting. It was moving. It was dramatic. It was heartbreaking. It was so many things all in one performance. I would recommend that everyone see this story of Jesus.
The Thorn is a live musical drama depicting the Bible from Creation through the Resurrection. It is done so creatively, using so many types of artistic methods in such an effective way that you feel as if you were there, an actual part of what the scene depicts. The Thorn incorporates acting, music, aerialists, effective lighting, dancing and so much more. It is presented very professionally with very talented actors and performers. The energy is captivating. It awakens the senses and spirit in a way that stays with you even after the show is over. It is not "preachy"but is presented as a story told by the disciple John as he knew it to be, and he involves the audience into his story. (My only recommendation is that the strobe lights not be directed directly towards the audience, as they are quite blinding and could be a difficulty for people with certain conditions.) I highly recommend this performance with an A+++ for story and quality of entertainment that you will remember, and even ruminate on, for quite some time after. It can be life-changing in a good way. If you get the chance to see The Thorn live do it. If you are curious and can't see it live get the CD which is also excellent. You mey be surprised but you will not be disappointed.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I loved everything about The Thorn. The performance was amazing the music and dancing were great and it moved me to tears in some parts. I highly recommend it.
Knowing the Word will help understand what’s being acted out. The first half was about the miracles but that second half was the sacrifice…I cried the whole 2nd half…I know the Word and still was in shock and disbelief what was happening…a fan and tissue was used…side note my makeup stayed in place the entire night tho…10/10 recommend!!!
