This is the second time I went to see The Thorn and this time was even better than the first. I hope it comes to Greensboro again! The sound was great, the action was intense, and The Tanger Center is definitely my favorite venue. Thank you to the outstanding performers for such a great show! May God continue to bless you all.
This was unbelievable! I couldn't imagine how they could portray the life of Jesus with acrobatics, but, it was breathtaking and accurate. The actor that played John, the most loved, was so wonderful! I could not believe that he could memorize all that the spoke. If the Thorn comes to your town you will not forgive yourself if you miss it!
I took my grandmother to this show. It was amazing. The theatrics were unbelievable. My grandmother has called me every day since to thank me for taking her.
I saw "The Thorn"with a friend in Raleigh. I knew I had to see it again with my family and booked tickets in Greensboro. It was absolutely excellent both times and I'm ready to see it AGAIN!; such incredible talent! I would recommend it to ANYONE!
Great story. Great play. Actors were excellent. Having John as the narrator telling his story worked perfectly.
The Thorn performance was Las Vegas caliber. The script was funny, serious, truthful, thought-provoking and captivating. The costumes were perfect to express the characters. The sound of the voices was perfect to understand - I have a hearing loss and wear hearing aids and caught every word! The sound effects truly enhanced the experience with their energetic vibrations. The light display was phenomenal and at exactly the right moments. The acrobats, dancers, and gymnasts were all extremely talented. And the actors were superb! John and Satan were perfectly casted. And it was so heartwarming the way the children were inter-twined into the story! I will sing your praises and encourage everyone to come experience THORN!
The Thorn is an awesome story. It had a little of everything- action, laughter, beauty, reality, happiness and tears. Well worth every moment.
I thoroughly enjoyed the show especially since it was related to Christianity and where’d to all types of people, including young and old. The theatrics, dramatic effects, and lighting made it all captivating. Initially I expected more speaking parts, however it was just as good in having one narrator for most of the show! I would love shows like these even if it included honing in on specific bible stories.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this event and I was actually blown away! I love that the entire thing was narrated by an older John. He did a wonderful job and the actor who played Satan was in incredible. He was so how I pictured Satan would be slithering around the stage. The staging was great and the addition of the Cirque du Soleil type acts really added to the feel of the angels. I loved it.!
Love, Action & Mystery! My favorite kind of story! Thorn was amazing and I want everyone I know and love to see it! I will go every year forever and never bore of it! You can tell this is a passion project and that every single person responsible for any part of the end result is doing something that they love! The detail and enthusiasm woven into every second of this show is noticeable. So intense. Whew! You MUST GO!
The entire performance was exciting and kept you engaged the entire time. Was moved to tears a couple of times.
It was an outstanding experience. The show was so down to earth and followed Jesus Christ life with humor, sadness and devotion. I would highly recommend it to anyone
Well Done, I laughed and cried. Can't wait to see it again!
I’m a single mom, and I wanted my kids to experience The Thorn with amazing seats. I finally decided to take the plunge and buy great orchestra tickets with a perfect view. I did my research and paid top dollar because I knew it would be worth it. The day of the show, I had a migraine and called to see if I could attend the following day instead. The staff was kind and told me it was no problem. They gave us Grand Tier Box seats, which they said were “the best in the house.” I was so excited and humbled — it felt like a blessing, and my kids were thrilled. When we got there, though, our view was completely blocked by a large speaker. We could only see a small part of the stage. We missed all the aerial performances, the Last Supper, and several major moments that make The Thorn so powerful. It was heartbreaking after looking forward to this for so long. The show itself was incredible and every bit as moving as I imagined it would be. But for how much I paid, and knowing there were plenty of open orchestra seats, it was disappointing to be placed somewhere that wasn’t equal in value or view. The attendant was kind, but when I mentioned I wasn’t sure about the view, he reassured me it was “the best seat in the house.” Having attended multiple shows in that area, he must have known otherwise — I just wish he’d told me to visit the ticket booth so we could’ve swapped seats before it started. I’m still grateful we were able to experience it, but I hope my feedback helps others avoid the same situation. If you’re attending, stick with orchestra — that’s where you’ll truly see the beauty and emotion of the performance the way it’s meant to be seen.
This is different, but beautiful way of telling the story of Jesus Christ from the apostle St. John. It was heartwarming.
There isn't enough words to describe The Thorn except for spectacular. Oh my goodness. I was blessed to witness such an amazing event. I recommend seeing it to everyone!!! I was in awe from beginning to end. What a blessing!!
The actors, music and special effects were totally Awesome, loved every minute!👍
This show exceeded my expectations. It told the story of creation up to when Jesus rose again in a way that moved the entire audience.. it was perfect and worth every penny!
I liked the show very much but did not understand some characters or acts. I didn't understand what the ribbon acrobat was trying to add to the story. It was beautiful but confusing. The show was wonderful and I highly recommend it.
