  • Christ is King- The Thorn is Beyond Amazing

by James on 11/26/25Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - GreensboroRating: 5 out of 5

Second time I've seen The Thorn. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I can't say enough good things about this play and most importantly, about our God. Words don't do justice. It's incredible, go see it as soon as you get the chance. You won't regret it. Christ is King. Praise the Lord!

  • Stunning, breathtaking, world class performance

by Flower Lady on 11/19/25VBC Mark C Smith Concert Hall - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The story, for a Christian, is everlasting, and was done exceptionally well with only one character, John the Beloved, telling the story. His ability to seamlessly shift from the biblical mode to the vernacular kept the audience attention and lent humor to the telling (without being disrespectful). The perfectly timed and flawlessly executed physical performance of the "dance troupe"brought the story alive in the fullest sense...and outdid anything I have ever seen in YEARS of being a gymnastics coach. The intensity of the second act shattered the comfort of sitting back and reading the story or watching a movie. This was REAL and I didn't realize I had tears flowing down my face and could hardly breathe. I appreciated the discussion of the partners of the play and look forward to acting on that information. I would ask for more "shows"like this, but I can't think of anyone else who can even come close to this level of performance.

This was a very well done show. It was funny and artistic and my whole family enjoyed it. They did such a wonderful job of artistically and effectively portraying the depth of our Messiah’s story. Highly recommended for everyone at any age! Such a blessing to my family.

  • Amazing

by Kat on 11/19/25VBC Mark C Smith Concert Hall - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The story of Jesus needs to be told! This show was originally written to reach the teenage and young adult generation…. The show was beautifully told in a different way but in a spectacular way! The message was clear! Jesus is the way, the truth, the life…. Follow Him! Great rendition of the Passion of Christ. So glad they depicted the Resurrection…. So moving! The audience was crying. Amen!

  • Not my type of show

The show is more of a ballet. Unless you know the Bible, some scenes were difficult to figure out. The narrator, John, could be more serious as to introducing the importance of the message. Lots of talented dancers, acrobats and all but I thought a poor deliverence of the message.

  • Visually stunning!!.

by Candece on 11/19/25VBC Mark C Smith Concert Hall - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing! Visually stunning, moving, and absolutely beautiful to watch! I laughed, cried, and was convicted! I looked at things in a way I hadn’t before, such as the trauma that Jesus’s family and friends experienced! I would love the opportunity to see it again! The baptism scene was my favorite! The artistry with the water was incredible! Professional actors, dancers, and performers!! Everything from the host to the narrator to the scenery and everything in between was top notch! You can tell a lot of work went into this production. Trailers don’t do it justice, way better than I expected!
