About

The Tenors on Tour

Although The Tenors' sound is a combination of classical and pop, the group's concerts are impossible to pigeonhole. Their setlists have been known to include everything from Motown classics to Beatles hits, to renditions of "Agnus Dei" and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." No matter what style The Tenors lend their voices to, it's the power of those pipes that has fans around the world coming back to their performances. Each member of the group is a world-class vocalist on his own terms, and as they trade off on lead vocals, it only becomes more clear. But when their voices combine, they add up to even more than the considerable sum of their parts. Between The Tenors' unbridled eclecticism, out-of-this-world vocal chops and sheer stage presence, it's nearly impossible to walk out of one of their concerts unmoved.

The Tenors in Concert

The Tenors were born out of a vision to combine the best of operatic material with pop, presented by singers possessed of both flawless technique and intense emotion. The lineup has changed since they started, but the mission remains the same. The group first came together in 2004 in Victoria, BC, and early on they were known as The Canadian Tenors, but their moniker changed when it became clear that they could appeal to audiences far beyond their national borders. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, though it was the follow-up (also self-titled) that really put them on the map, hitting both the classical and pop charts in the U.S. as well as Canada. Since then, these Canucks have become virtual citizens of the world, playing the most prestigious venues all over the planet, and appearing on television everywhere from PBS to the BBC.

    A bit Loud

by PJ on 12/2/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I enjoyed it very much, but found it a bit loud, which for me, made it sound a bit harsh at times. The woman next to me covered her ears. It seemed to get better as the evening progressed. I was back row, first balcony.

    Excellent CONCERT

by BAB on 12/1/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

We had an excellent time at the Tenors concert. They put on an excellent show. Their band, the ensemble and choir from Calgary who supported them also did an excellent job.

    Best concert ever

by Didi on 12/1/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The lighting, the orchestra, the back up choir and if course the amazing voices and power of the tenors. The 2 new additions transitioned seamlessly into the group. Lived every minute.

    wonderful voices

by SGT on 12/1/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The songs were lovely, the singers, choir and instrumental performers were great. But, it was all far too loud. It was hard to hear the words of the song, differentiate if the choir was singing or not, and this detracted from the overall performance

    Disappointed

by Quilter on 11/30/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This was the 3rd Tenor concert I’ve attended & sad to say I was very disappointed in the Edmonton performance. Not a single Christmas decoration on stage at a Christmas tour, band was too loud, often drowning out the singers. Over 15 minutes late to arrive on stage, first 1/2 was a little over 1/2 an hr, 1 microphone was squeaking & pitch was off right from the first song. Too many songs by only 1 member, I came to hear the whole group. The last 2 songs of the evening were better but no where like it used to be.

    Sound off. Loud. Late.

by SAH on 11/30/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Third time seeing The Tenors. Not their best performance. They started about 20 mins late. Also late to start after intermission. Sound was “pitchy” and way too loud. Acoustics were great. If it was our first time seeing them, don’t know if we would again. Was disappointed.

    Not their best

by JB33 on 11/30/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The show started off pretty rocky. There were sound issues, feedback on mic’s and mic’s not working. It took a long time for them to captivate the audience. Their singing sounded like they were trying to out sing each other instead of the beautiful harmonies they are known for. Some of that may have been the sound issues. The second set after intermission was much better. They seemed to have worked out some of the kinks by then and it was a more enjoyable experience. I wish they had started that way because I had been really looking forward to the show and the first half was very disappointing.

    Mikes

by Ardie on 11/30/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

There was obviously trouble with the mikes and could’ve been balanced better. Honestly, I liked it better when it was just the three Tenors.

    Nearly a five star

by JK on 11/29/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The show was fantastic….the choice of songs, the singing, the musicians….but cannot be a five star because they did NOT start on time. The show was at least 20 minutes late starting and the tenors were also slow coming back after the intermission! Not acceptable. The principals need to respect their audience and be on time for the show. However, it was a wonderful Christmas show.

    Heart warming

by Longtime Fan on 11/29/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

My husband and I have been coming to see the Tenors for years. I was worried when they announced two new members. I need not have worried. The Tenors are as amazing and strong as ever. I am in awe of each of their talents. The performance was joyful and moving.

    Sound tech needed support

by Robobo on 11/29/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Their singing was good. It was very much more pop than Christmas compared to their concert 5 years ago. It was so so so loud, my grandma had her hearing aids out and also Kleenex in her ears. Also one of the mic’s didn’t seem to work for most of the concert. Their performance and talent were 5/5 it was the production I was disappointed in.
