Temptations Revue ft. Nate Evans on Tour
"My Girl." "Papa Was a Rolling Stone." "I Can't Get Next to You." "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." "Just My Imagination." "The Way You Do the Things You Do." "Treat Her Like a Lady." If you're a fan of classic soul music, you know all of them by heart. They're the hit songs of the Temptations, some of the most beloved ever written, performed by musicians who rose out of Detroit to eventually embody the aesthetic of Motown, both the label and the sound.
Over the course of their 50-plus-year career, the Temptations released four Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles and 14 R&B No. 1 singles. Their music has earned three Grammys, including the first for Motown for 1969's "Cloud Nine," and in 2013 they received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. The founding members — Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams and David Ruffin — were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. "My Girl," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" are among the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. This music is more than timeless. It's at the very foundation of pop.
Today, the Temptations Revue carries on the tradition started almost 60 years ago, performing concerts to sold-out crowds across the United States. The Temptations Revue is led by Nate Evans, the singer who was brought into the group decades ago by its founding members. Evans brings a cast of veteran vocalists to re-create the Temptations' definitive five-part harmonies, and they're accompanied by an eight-piece band that provides proper live musical backing. From the dapper suits to the gentlemanly dance moves to note-perfect renditions of all those songs you know by heart, the Temptations Revue is the full Temptations experience, delivered here and now.
Great singers and performers. Brought us back to the 70's.
My husband and I just loved the show very nostalgic. Great songs and dance moves.
This was my first Temptations concert and I would go again and again. I spoke with a few people who stated this was their 2nd or third concert and they'd also go back. They were awsome. I wish I had as much energy as they had put into their concert. Great job!
Great show ended to soon! The drummer was fantastic, especially since he just started 2 days before the show!!!!!!!!!!!
We completely enjoyed the concert! The Temptations have so much class. Every song was perfectly executed both vocally and the dance routines. I would go again tomorrow. They played everyone of the songs I came to hear. the friendship and teamwork was just fabulous
this was the worst concert that I have ever been too. The band played so loud that you could not hear the singers. The first act was harmonious but they were so bad that no one cared. I wish I had never wasted my wife and my money going to this.
The opening act had canceled but was entertained by a local quartet. I felt the show of the Temptations that started at 7:30 and lasted till 8:45 was not in the least worth the 22.50 seats and 10.00 parking we paid for an hour or so show. For what we did see performed I felt they sang, danced and entertained for the era that I lived thru and wish them luck on their tour.
I went because my friend was playing trombone with the temps. I actually didn't realize how many songs i liked of there's. I am going to go out and get some of there music because i had such a great time. i wish they would of done an encore.
They went through the motions of putting on a concert.
We were very excited to see the Temptations and their music brought back many wonderful memories of the 70's . They had great dance routines. The sound system was not the greatest at our venue though. Did not know if it was the fault of the Temptations or venue sound system. Other concerts we have seen at this venue sounded much better. Most of the time the band was talking and introducing the members, we could not understand a thing they were saying, and our seats were only 50 feet away. Other than that was very entertaining!!! Love the Temptations.
The Temptations put on a great show. The only thing I could say negative is that it didn't last long enough!
GREAT show!!! Amazing that Otis is an ORIGINAL member....awesome awesome show!!
IM 51 YRS OLD AND THIS WAS MY FIRST CONCERT. I COULD'NT HAVE PICKED A BETTER GROUP TO SEE. I HAD CANCER SURGERY MONDAY AND GOT OUT OF BED FRIDAY TO GO SEE THE TEMPTATIONS, STITCHES AND ALL AND IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. I DID'NT REALIZE WHAT I HAVE MISSED TILL I SEEN THESE TALENTE GUYS ON STAGE. I LOVED THEM. ID TRAVEL TO SEE THEM AGAIN. JUST LOVED THEM. THANK YOU TEMPTATIONS FOR MAKEING MY DAY EVEN WITH THE PAIN.
Wonderful show!!....THAT ONLY LASTED FOR AN HOUR!! Suprised and disappointed when they left the stage, and the lights came on. So was everyone else.
This was not my old temptations from the 70's and 80's. This was a new band of temptations with one original at the helm. It was a ship that sailed into the night and kept the night very "tempting." With vocal stylings that were very reminescent of the old temptations, this group was able to show that they have stayed very hip and up to date with todays music without a need of offensive language. With the addition of "Big Sexy," it shows that the Temptations change witht he times and are not stuck in the Temptations mode of yesteryear. The newest member (I have never seen a heavy set Temptation before) puts one in the mind of Dennis Edwards. With his strong vocal leads and stage presence, he will be sure to keep the crowd coming back. The amount of vocal ranges that every exhibited shows why the Temptations are still making music after all of these years. Electrifying, mesmerizing, a total package of grace, movement, and harmony. A truly great show!
The Temptation featuring Otis williams was a performance that I will always remember.Their voices were in perfect harmony and their stage appearence was just great! Just wonderful !!!!
My second time seeing the Temptations at Chastain. Totally fun and romantic. I had a great time!
The Temptations and Ashford & Simpson were excellent!! Their concert was a great way to start the weekend!
very mediocer at best....The opening act was Ok but I sure wouldn't pay to see them. Also, very dissapointed that the temptations didn't play any more of there older favorites. We will not go back to hear them again.
The Temptations were ok but Ashford and Simpson were GREAT!!! I would love to see them as the headliner singing all of their songs. I give them five stars and the Temptations 3 starts
