I am a long time attendee of concerts at the Birchmere. The venue hosted the fabulous, iconic, soul group “The Stylistics” on Friday night. The concert was magical. The incredible voices of the group along with the music from their awesome band members transformed the venue into a 1970s nightclub of truly soulful memories. Thank you Birchmere for a night I will remember for a very long time!
I wasn't sure about what to expect from the group. Because they didn't feature the original lead singer Russell. But, we were pleasantly surprised. We would recommend to family and friends to make the Stylistic a must see concert. We would definitely come see them again!
From the beginning to the end, their music was on point! EVERY song brought back memories and I will go see them again. Just fantastic!
Voices were strong with melody and the music was original. Looking forward to seeing them again, and more groups like them.
They were awesome. The Birchmere is a fantastic place to have those old-school groups that you would like to see up close and personal. Great show!
The Stylistic’s performance was amazing, they have beautiful voices, style, class, humor, I could go on and on. Their music transported me and the sold-out audience back to a simpler time long long ago. If your hesitant about going, do yourself a favor and go, guaranteed you won’t be disappointed
Enjoyed the Stylistics concert at Birchmere Alexandria Va. Great sound. Great harmony and great band. My wife and I enjoyed it and will go see them again. Great show.
I had a wonderful time met new people we danced enjoying each other and the entertainment it was amazing can’t wait for next year 2025
I had the pleasure of attending the "Love Affair"concert in Las Vegas on February 3rd, 2024. The finest acts in show business were there, with The Stylistics headlining. They ALL were AMAZING! Vocals, as always with professionals were on point! I really love the choreography especially with "Blue Magic."With that being said, I was disappointed to see rows upon rows of unoccupied seats. This show should have sold out! This was THE BEST lineup of music royalty and the venue was only half full. These artists need our support so they can continue to perform the songs we have grown to love.
My husband and I really enjoyed the show. The performers were great … the music was amazing … all in all what a memorable and a wonderful experience!
This was an excellent show that brought back many great memories. It was seven acts over a four hour period. Every band played their hit songs. I highly recommend the show.
When some of the performers were singing, the sound system overwhelmed and grounded out their voices. It was hard hearing their songs.. Not all performers, had the issue. However, the one’s it affected, caused their voices to be unclear. The sound system was too loud. It interfered with their voices - (Blue Magic’s, and Ready for the World, mainly). There were too many performers… I think no more than 5 performers would have been sufficient. Other than that, all the performances were good. The Mary Jane Girls were, “Outstanding!”
Really enjoyed ourselves this night will definitely go next year! I’m got was litttttt
The Stylistics were FANTASTIC!!!!!! The Singing and dance routines awesome. The good ole days. 😊
Really enjoyed the night out, but the first four groups did not have a band and was not shown on the main screen performing. At least we (up in the balcony) would have like seeing their performance on screen. As for the last three groups, Ready for the World, Rose Royce and Stylistics, fantastic performances. The band was on hit, but once again, their performance should have been shown on the main screen. I paid to see the groups perform as a whole, musician and singers performing live. Not singing their rendition of a previously recording, very disappointing.
Nice Venue easy access safe and secure not a bad seat in the arena.
All seven acts performed their biggest hits, although only the Stylistics played more than three songs. The first four acts sang to soundtracks without any live musicians. Vocals were good throughout, although some of the originals like Farrion Love of the Stylistics, the Delfonics and Herb understandably show their age. Getting into the venue was a problem, as everyone was funneled to one escalator causing a long line to extend back to and through the casino. Compounding the problem was that the first act began before everyone waiting in line was seated in the venue. The other issue was from drunk and stoned fans who disrespected both their fellow attendees and the performers. People were blocking the stairways, yelling so loud they drowned out the Stylistics and causing one to wonder why they were even there as they showed little appreciation for or interest in the music.
The stylistics were awesome. They sound so original just like back in the day. I really enjoyed them and enjoyed the whole show.
When I first saw the Stylistics appear on Ticketmaster, it didn't say other groups would be there. I assumed one opening act, then the Stylistics. I was excited to see the Delfonics there. The 2 disc jockeys were annoying and lame. The sound system was terrible. This venue is better suited for a sports event. The show started at 7, dragged on and the Stylistics came on around 10 20pm. They sounded excellent, polished, did a short medley and were finished before 11 00pm. We were shocked and very disappointed. The first time I saw that there would be other groups was when I loaded my ticket that day. I wasn't expecting to be there for 4 hours and only saw the headliner the last half hour. The ticket promo in the beginning was very misleading and didn't say anything about the other groups being there. Peaches & Herb was good to see, but the others were not what I wanted to see. Again, the Stylistics were great, but didn't stay on stage long enough.
