THE SPILL CANVAS IN CONCERT:
Alt rock outfit The Spill Canvas has been winning over pans for the past decade with their emotional lyrics, melodic hooks, and adrenaline-filled live performances. In concert the band delivers raw, unbridled energy while frontman Nick Thomas captivates the crowd with his boy-next-door charm and heart-on-sleeve storytelling. The Spill Canvas’s music is all about emotional connection, and their passionate performances and friendly onstage demeanor always strike a chord with fans at their live shows. Whether they’re playing a hushed acoustic rendition of “Polygraph, Right Now!” or getting ticket buyers dancing with the anthemic “All Over You”, The Spill Canvas always deliver a rousing concert experience brimming with virtuosic musicianship and heartfelt sentiment.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Spill Canvas was formed in Sioux Falls, SD in 2002 by former Nodes of Ranvier guitarist and backup vocalist Nick Thomas. After honing his sound Thomas debuted the project in 2004 with the album Sunsets and Car Crashes, which he wrote, performed, and produced on his own. He put together a band to tour in support of the release, and in 2005 the newly formed group issued The Spill Canvas’s sophomore album One Fell Swoop. The record was a success, landing on Billboard’s Heatseekers and Independent Albums charts and earning the group a contract with Sire Records. They made their debut on the label in 2007 with No Really, I’m Fine, which peaked at No. 2 on the Heatseekers chart and spawned the popular single “All Over You”. Since then the band has toured extensively and released three more albums including 2012’s critically acclaimed Gestalt.

Easy entry, overpacked after being moved from the Echoplex to the Echo. Sounded good overall, a little bit of quiet vocals hard to hear on the system. No parking and had to park a mile away.
Ive been in love w/ this band since I was a young teen & it's been a dream of mine to see them live. Let me tell you what, they did not disappoint! The venue was great, not a bad seat in the house & they sounded even better live! Their opening bands were fun too! The Spill Canvas will forever be one of my favorite bands 😍🤘
Nice to have two quality acts with Akimbo Arms opening up. I've seen AA a few times and they are always awesome. Spill Canvas was insanely good, one of those shows where the audience was silent for a moment or two because we couldn't believe what we were seeing and hearing. Watching Nick play guitar will bring you closer to your authentic Jesus than you ever thought possible.
Took my daughter to see The Spill Canvas and it was her first concert ever. We both cried and enjoyed every single moment. Cant wait to see them again in a month. I will definitely see them every single chance I get.
One of the best concerts I've ever been too! Awesome venue too!
aid it would start at seven, it started at eight. We were there for four hours and just gave up and left so we didn't see rest of Harbour. Another band went on halfway through and we didn't even know they would be there
Great show!!! All 3 bands, Kenzo Creegan, Harbour and The Spill Canvas rocked it!!!
Always LOVED The Spill Canvas, but I had the best night of amazing music and phenomenal vocals!!! Of course with the best people @ such a smaller venue!!
This was my first time at the venue. Very clean, very well kept. Loved all the decorative fixtures and stuff. Sound was great. Transitions between bands was seamless and pleasant. Security handled a brawl during one of the sets seamlessly as well.
All three bands did such a great job. This was one of the best concerts I've been to this year. The venue was great, but the bar was laid out a bit funky which took away from the floor space. A better layout could really do justice in this venue. Overall, a great experience. Prices were good for the tickets and drink prices were good. Glad to see there was also a designated smoking area.
My family and I had such a great time!! Even the two little ones who are 8 and 6 were able to get down front and enjoy a seat off stage. My family loves listening and attending their concerts.
Such a great experience. The three acts fit really well together and they were all individually amazing. The venue was intimate and the sound was great! Bouncer went above and beyond when he saw I was clearly in pain and offered me a chair. I'll be back!
The Spill Canvas and Cory Wells were absolutely amazing as always! I love seeing these artists live! However, House of Blues obviously had some plumbing issues because the venue reaked of sewage. I love how Nick kept making jokes about it. LOL. Way to play in a stinky situation guys! <3
I really enjoyed this show. The opening act was great and sound was mixed just right for The Spill Canvas. I would see them in any venue all over again. Just a note on the venue, it had an awful sewage smell on this night so hopefully that’s fixed.
The Spill Canvas never disappoint. The strings and keys added to this tour were such a compliment to the already perfect songs.
The Spill Canvas continue to tour year after year and that's a testament to just how incredible they really are. They really care about their fans and what they want out of one of their concerts. This years tour was stripped down and intimate, giving a more personal tone and vibe to their already incredible vocals and shows. I look forward to seeing them each and every time they tour.
Been following the spill Canvas for years and it's so awesome to have them still touring and the sit down style crowd interaction was so good. Thanks SC don't stop doing what you do
Nick and gang are always bringing the joys and sarrows of life and romance in an iconic way. I can feel nastalgia on every track regardless of age. I can hear and feel the emotion of every lyric and note. I wouldnt be the person i am today without the spill canvas in my life, and i couldnt be happier to applaud and support this band.
Loved it! SEATED event at the Shelter!? Yes, please! Spill Canvas NEVER disappoints! 💙
