    Sydney Steele was truly perfect!

by Moddie on 8/1/10Lexington Opera House - Lexington

I thought Sydney Steele was as good as Julie Andrews in her role as Maria. Her voice soared above all the family's voices giving a feeling of nurturing, goodness, comfort, and kind parent/wife leadership. Tom Hayward was woderful as the Captain. And the children's voices and acting was terrific. Lexington is blessed to have all the talent we have!

Sound of Music was great from start to finish!

It amazes me that individuals who are volunteering their talents performed a show such as this as well or better than most professionals!

    LONG!

by Anonymous on 5/25/10Mendelssohn Theatre - Ann Arbor

For a children's performance, this show was almost 3 hours....that's too long. They could have omitted some songs, and shortened it up a bit somehow. Also, the person playing Maria needed to have a stronger voice. I know that this was an inexpensive children's performance, but for a musical--the lead has to be able to at least be the strongest singer of the group Overall it was OK

    The Sound of Music

by kingfish11 on 5/22/10Mendelssohn Theatre - Ann Arbor

The cast was well prepared, and they all had wonderful voices....Herr Dettwiler stole the show with his one liners GREAT JOB! I must note a few observations...all cast mics need to be off as soon as leaving the stage...too much backstage noise coming through. A few line mistakes but good adlib to get past it... at times difficult to hear the solos better mic placement may help.. Set crew needs better transition of set placement. Overall GREAT JOB CAST AND CREW!!!!! I enjoyed it and would see another production from your theater group. Keep up the great work never stop following your dreams. Sincerely, Kingfish
