Excellent show at an unorganized venue

by LeSinge on 11/28/22MTELUS - Montreal

Music was excellent. Thom’s voice was powerful and the setlist very good. The informations given by the clerk at the ticket boot for the upgrade were misleading and I missed the occasion of getting the private boot tickets I shoud have gotten

    Finally, good sound at MTelus!

by Bianca on 11/28/22MTELUS - Montreal

For many, many years now, the sound quality at Mtelus has been below standard. I can't count how many shows I watched where I could barely hear the artist and only heard people talking in the crowd or the sounds of the bar tenders doing their work. I'd move around the venue (up at the mezzanine, downstairs in the back, downstairs in the front)...it was the same anywhere I positioned myself. FINALLY, at The Smile show, the sound was PERFECT. It was loud and full. We could clearly hear all the musicians and the singer. I was so happy to finally get my money's worth at MTelus.

    just not that good

by movement on 11/27/22The Anthem - Washington

They only had a half an hour of good material and the sound quality was just okay. I was ready for it to be over. The Anthem is a dreadful venue. More than half of the attendees can't see the musicians on stage at all. I wish I could avoid it.

    Best concert ever

by Eliciane Medina on 11/27/22The Anthem - Washington

Place was amazing. Very clean, organized and high tech. Looking forward the next concert.

    Awesome

by Eric on 11/27/22The Anthem - Washington

If Yorke and Greenwood are on the bill you see brilliance.

    Anthem does it again!

by RedStarAmish on 11/26/22The Anthem - Washington

What a show! I have seen Radiohead. I have seen Yorke solo. I have seen Atoms for Peace. The Smile show is up there with all of them. The magic of Greenwood and Yorke was amazing. They looked liked they were having a good time which is contagious. As always, the Anthem is the best with staff that is so kind and approachable. Food is great! Sound is great! Visuals great!

    Fantastic Live

    by pumpkin8880 on 11/26/22The Anthem - Washington

The Smile was fantastic live, as expected. The venue is beautiful and in a gorgeous location but my only gripe was that the upper floor standing areas had too many obstructions and limited view of the stage.

    Fantastic show all around!!

by Andy K on 11/26/22The Anthem - Washington

Had not heard but one of The Smile’s music and was not only not disappointed but THRILLED. Not to diminish the other band members but I think Thom Yorke can do no wrong. Great great show!

    Incredible venue and show

by Eric on 11/26/22The Anthem - Washington

The Anthem is DC is the place to see a band. Impossible to explain. Google it. And The Smile were just insanely great. How couldn’t they be. Thom Yorke. Jonny Greenwood and Tom Skinner. Doesn’t get any better. What a venue though!!

    Powerful experience

by Legends on 11/26/22The Anthem - Washington

This was simply one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Do not miss this band if you have a chance to see them.

    Ok, not great.

by Nik T on 11/26/22The Anthem - Washington

Venue almost too large to create an atmosphere. The crowd seemed flat throughout. The warm up act was boring and seemed very self indulgent rather than trying to entertain the audience. The Smile were good and played a very tight professional gig but did not interact with the crowd much. Lighting was susperb but it was like listening to a cd, rather than being at a gig. Beer was ridiculously overpriced.

    Not for me

by John Dory on 11/26/22The Anthem - Washington

It could just be a D.C. thing, but this show brought out some odd people. Maybe they just hung out around us- not too sure. A lot of middle aged men acting very creepy- some of whom treated their women’s bodies like drums, others who were wildly weeping. Decided to leave after three songs. Thom York is undoubtedly talented. We must’ve just not realized most people would be taking downers while we were taking uppers. Sorry to those arounds us- we couldn’t help but to uncontrollably laugh for almost the entire time we were there.

    EXCELSIOR!!!

by Dhara16 on 11/23/22Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

The most phenomenal musicianship! Worth the wait and expectations exceeded on so many levels. I hope this isn’t a one-off and that there is more new music and touring on the horizon! Kudos, gentlemen!!!!

Great band-The Smile- but Hammerstein Ballroom as a venue su

by Thom Yorke fan on 11/23/22Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Great band-The Smile- but Hammerstein Ballroom as a venue sucked. They oversold tickets for The Pit, and it was way too crowded and I couldn’t see anything. It was so crowded the person next to me almost passed out. I would not go again. Whoever was responsible for over selling the tickets should be held accountable for unsafe conditions

    Perfect show

by LBD on 11/23/22Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

The sound was amazing! So clear that I could hear every word! The balcony was comfortable but odd that the seats were just chairs and it was GA. The Smile performance was spectacular! I want to see them again!

Show Great | Add-on(s) not so much

by VA on 11/22/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

I went for the Saturday show. the Smile was awesome! Open the Floodgates FTW! I opted for the ambassador experience and was bummed to see the general ticket sales get admission first. The private bar was ok, but the Kings theatre kept the lines moving so getting a drink at the regular bar wasn’t an issue. I also went to use the ‘private restroom’ and was denied permission. I will definitely go to the Kings Theatre again, but I’ll be skipping the special add-on(s) in the future (not worth the hype). But don’t let that overshadow the show. It was awesome! Sound was also good.

    Utterly amazing

    by Jen-io-Head on 11/22/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

The only consolation for not having more Radiohead shows is that Thom Yorke continues to prolifically create new music, and The Smile and A Light for Attracting Attention is some of his best work yet. Together with Radiohead alum Jonny Greenwood and Sons of Kemet's Tom Skinner, the trio put on a PHENOMENAL show filled with so much energy and soul. They also played several new songs written on tour that aren't on the first album. It was just a stellar and electric show, and the King's Theater was an utterly gorgeous venue with great sound. (I heard there were sound issues their first night at the venue, but I didn't notice anything off). And despite being sold out, I didn't encounter a line to enter the theater. Only very minor criticism is that Robert Stillman wasn't exactly ideal for an opening act - he's got some interesting techno work and created an experience - but it hardly revved up the crowd.

    Greatest Show Status

by Doug on 11/21/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

The clarity of the band’s sound was incredible! I used to need to see rock shows! Then in ‘79, ‘80, and ‘81 I saw The Rolling Stones and I never needed to see another rock show again! Not that I didn’t or wouldn’t but I didn’t need to! Then those Stones shows finally met their match in the Smile show at Kings Theater

    The Smile at Kings Theatre

by Ali on 11/21/22Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

Thom Yorke never disappoints! Music was sublime in a gorgeous venue. Great crowd on the floor who clearly appreciated the beautiful music The Smile and the opening act Robert Stillman made for us that night. So grateful to have been there!
