The Simon & Garfunkel Story
Since its sell-out in London's West End, The Simon & Garfunkel Story is now the World's leading theatre show concerning Simon & Garfunkel featuring a full live band and state of the art video projection and lighting. The show includes all of their hits, including Mrs. Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and many more.
With more than 100 million album sales since 1965, Simon & Garfunkel's perfect harmonies and songs that poignantly captured the times made them one of the most successful folk-rock duos of all time. Over the years, they won 10 Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1977, their Bridge Over Troubled Water album was nominated at the 1977 Brit Awards for Best International Album. In 2003, Simon and Garfunkel were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the following year saw their The Sound of Silence awarded a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.
Performance was amazing. Voices, band, so fun. It was a great night all around. So happy we went!
Really enjoyed this show. Lots of fun and extremely entertaining.
Lead singers were terrific and blended well together. Song selections were well choreographed. Loved the background pics-they added dimensionality to the performance. Band did a great job. Highly enjoyed this look back at a brilliant musical duo.
The singing was well done and the back up musicians were terrific. Well told story with treasured songs.
This was a "do not miss"event for all Simon and Garfunkel fans. It was more of a concert than a play, but that wasn't a negative. For the most part, the music synced beautiful, the voices were spot on, and the backup band was excellent. There were a few times when one of the leads was a little flat or the band was very noisy, but the overall experience made it a very worthwhile show. It did focus almost exclusively on their shared music, with a brief nod to their solo careers, but I would certainly recommend it to any S&G fan.
The Simon & Garfunkel show was fantastic! The music was a walk down memory lane. Those young men did an amazing job replicating the voices. And yes, they can sing!
the show was great. the singing, the band, the story. felt like a flashback to those days.
Loved the band, loved the singers, loved the use of video.
I initially expected a production, but was thoroughly entertained at Wednesday night's performance. I learned a lot about Simon and Garfunkel's friendship and partnership. I also really enjoyed the background visual, which lended itself to the mood of the songs. Their voices were bananas (in a good way)! :-) The next time I woke up singing "God bless you bless Mrs Robinson......."
Excellent singers and backup band. Thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommend!
OMG it was a great fantastic show. Brought back so many memories. I cried through the whole thing, the songs were awesome, the actors were great. I wanted to grab all my friends and come back the next day. Thanks for the beautiful show. It was absolutely perfect!!
These are two very talented singers. The story about Simon and Garfunkel was interesting. Had a great time. Well done gentlemen.
What a wonderful way to move through our own history with the beauty of S & G songs. Would have loved to hear more of their stories... Thank you
Excellent compilation of songs coupled with nostalgic 60’s and 70’s clips. Thoroughly enjoyable.
I've been a S&G fan all my life. The two guys that played Art & Paul were great!! They told the story about growing up together & have sung for years. When "Art"sang "Bridge Over Troubled Waters"it gave me chills & moved me to tears. The band was great also!! 😀
Didn't get much advanced notice this was playing but... Beautiful Theater (CIBC/Chicago), architecturally grand. Great seats, front of MEZZ. Sound, audio/visual perfect. Such talent. don't miss this one!
For everyone who was enjoying S&G songs on the 70’s. Great show with some 20 songs including the greatest ones like Sound of S, Mrs R, Bridge on t w etc
Solid musical backing for a sad narrative of two incredible people who were friends, artists & legends. You knew something wasn't working about the third or fourth time they introduced the band members.
Very enjoyable, but not what I originally expected. Thought it was going to be a theatrical play / journey of the ups & downs of their professional career. Instead, they did a narrated timeline and performance of the songs during that timeline. Not what I was expecting, but had a wonderful time. Actors did a great job with the vocals of 'Paul & Art'. During the performance, I closed my eyes a few times, and it really felt like I was listening to Paul and Art doing the singing. If you were/are a Simon & Garfunkel fan, I would definitely recommend going.
I was expecting it would be like Jersey Boys but overall it was very entertaining and brought back good memories through Simon's and Garfunkel's songs. Good harmonization, good back up band and for the cheap price, it was a great afternoon show. Thanks for bringing the show to Chicago.
