About

The Simon & Garfunkel Story

Since its sell-out in London's West End, The Simon & Garfunkel Story is now the World's leading theatre show concerning Simon & Garfunkel featuring a full live band and state of the art video projection and lighting. The show includes all of their hits, including Mrs. Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and many more.

With more than 100 million album sales since 1965, Simon & Garfunkel's perfect harmonies and songs that poignantly captured the times made them one of the most successful folk-rock duos of all time. Over the years, they won 10 Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1977, their Bridge Over Troubled Water album was nominated at the 1977 Brit Awards for Best International Album. In 2003, Simon and Garfunkel were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the following year saw their The Sound of Silence awarded a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.

Amazing musical performance, but uneven writing

by Mogsdad on 5/13/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

As a tribute show I loved The Simon and Garfunkel Story. There were a couple of scenes that were less than they could have been; the slide show introducing “Old Friends” was a particular letdown.

    Fun, sounded great

by Matthew B on 5/13/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

I really can't say much more than the headline of the review. My wife, who grew up with these songs, with her parents in their kitchen singing and humming Simon and Garfunkel, absolutely loved it.

    A Good Experience

    by G V D on 5/10/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

It was nice to hear the beginnings of how Simon and Garfunkel came to be. Good friends during high school, they were into the arts and literature.  Fascinated by the Everly Bothers their early start was as Tom and Jerry. That didn't last and Paul moved to London, after a bit Art joined him and the rest is how we know it. Of course they came back to the U S and took us through the Viet Nam era. Interesting to know that Paul wrote The Only Living Boy in New York about  Art as the beginning of the end for them as Art went off to make films. Hoping to hear a few more songs, they did several album cuts (I hadn't heard in years!) and the relevant ones;  Scarborough Fair/Canticle,  Sounds of Silence, Cecilia and closed with Bridge Over Troubled Water.  Giving several shout outs to the band, the encore song, The Boxer left me with a good feeling.  It was an enjoyable time.  #simonandgarfunkle #paulsimon #artgarfunkle #thesimonandgarfunklestory #anurbangirlsview

Time flew by - the music was sung beautifully. Everyone including the musicians were top notch.

    Fantastic!

by Li on 5/9/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

Show was great. Cast was engaging and sounded great! Afternoon filled with wonderful songs. Videos played in screen behind bam and really took me back and added time reference to songs. Would see again.

    Wow!!!

by Franny on 5/8/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

The Simon and Garfunkel Story was AMAZING! So many emotions - I laughed, I cried, I thought deeply about what was happening in America then and now. The band was outstanding. The singer's voices sounded so much like S&G - maybe even better. I highly recommend seeing this if it comes around again, which I hope it does, because I would see it again!

    Nostalgic Afternoon

by KAH on 5/8/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

This musical was wonderful- brought back many memories and I learned a lot about both of them through the story-telling. The songs were sung in near perfect harmony and I found myself singing along to almost all of them. Even if you're not necessarily a Simon and Garfunkel fan, the music will fill you with joy. I highly recommend The Simon and Garfunkel Story to anyone who just likes music and wants to be taken back to relive a few memories.

Such a poor showing for a most enjoyable show

by PAN on 5/8/24CIBC Theatre - Chicago

Loved the songs and the singing also the US history of the second half of the 20th century in cultural and musical milestones, done so well Why this show was not publicized, puzzles me. Better than some of the glitz but no substance shows I have had to see
