About

Built on the solid, classic rock foundation of three-part harmonies and dual guitar leads, Canada's Juno Award-winning Sheepdogs blend Southern rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock & roll revival. Emerging in 2004, the band found mainstream success in 2010 with the release of their platinum-selling third LP, Learn & Burn, and continued to top the Canadian charts with efforts like The Sheepdogs (2012), Future Nostalgia (2015), Changing Colours (2018), and Outta Sight (2022).

Hailing from the Saskatchewan city of Saskatoon, the band features the talents of Ewan Currie (vocals, guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass), Sam Corbett (drums), Shamus Currie (keyboard/trombone) and Rick Paquette (guitar). From Canadian roadhouses to global music festivals, their on-stage and on-road hours are countless, underscoring their endurance in the music scene. The release of Future Nostalgia and Changing Colours further enriched their discography, leading up to the 2022 release of the jubilant hook-filled Outta Sight, solidifying their impact in the rock domain.

Most recently, their singles from Outta Sight spent a cumulative 90 weeks with at least 1 song in the top 20 at Canadian Rock radio. Prior, their hit singles "I Don't Know" and "Feeling Good" both reached Platinum certification, with "The Way It Is" achieving Gold sales. Additionally, the albums Learn & Burn and The Sheepdogs both achieved Platinum status, and to date the band has been nominated for 11 JUNO awards, winning four.

    Terrible Venue

by Steven on 10/17/22Massey Hall - Toronto

The Sheepdogs were a 5/5, Massey Hall was a 1/5. Never been to a concert venue before that stops serving beverages 45 minutes into the headliner. Sheepdogs came on at 9:15 and the bars were closed at 10pm without warning, couldn’t even get a cup of water or a soda and the show didn’t end until after 11pm. Really hope the Sheepdogs choose a different venue next time they’re in Toronto.

    The best!

by AMN on 10/17/22Massey Hall - Toronto

This isn't the first time we have seen The Sheepdogs, and boy they did not disappoint! They had a new guitarist, which was amazing, and the band sounded as great as ever. Also, Massey Hall's renovation is perfect. They did a great job maintaining the heritage of the building while bringing it into the 21st century. Overall one of the highlights of my 2022 year!

Great show, they are so talented and sound amazing live! So many great solos (not only on the guitar... but also bass, drums, keyboard and even a trombone solo!) Can't wait to see them again!

    Great tunes, beautiful venue

    by R on 9/6/21Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

So great to see some live music again! It was confusing at first to figure out where the drink ticket line and the bar was. Knowing that the tickets were cash only would’ve been great to know before standing in line for 10 minutes. Having signs may have been helpful. Venue was great and the crowd was amazing!

    Sheepdogs

by Deb on 9/6/21Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Organized, great venue, upon leaving there were Ubers coming up to the exit, so we waited. We didn't know they had stopped letting them thru so we had to then walk LATER, on our own to the street to obtain a bus

If you're thinking about going, go!!!

by TheDeekuhn on 9/8/18Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

This was my fourth time seeing The Sheepdogs, and the second time I've flown to Vancouver from Los Angeles to see them play. One of the best live bands out there, and when they get a crowd like this, even better. The Malkin Bowl is highly recommended as a place to see a band on a late summer / early fall night. Opening act, Terra Lightfoot, was really good too.

    Simply amazing show!!

    by LisaB205 on 3/5/18Massey Hall - Toronto

The Sheepdogs at fabulous Massey Hall in Toronto was such an energy-filled show that I don't think I quit smiling from the first chord until the last. These guys really know how to jam and their sound takes me back to my childhood listening to Santana, Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, and a million other cool 70s rock bands. They are so entertaining and I was amazed at how many different instruments they played. The 70s style pant suits were also very entertaining. Massey Hall has such excellent sound too. The crowd was very enthusiastic and thrilled with the performance too, which made the experience quite memorable. My husband and I flew to Toronto from Auburn, Alabama specifically to see these guys and we were NOT disappointed. Thanks for a wonderful memory, Sheepdogs!! Keep on Rockin' in the free world!!

by Parro5 on 3/8/16Guelph Concert Theatre - Guelph

Love the Sheepdogs! Great Canadian band! They brought me back in time with their 70s rock sound. Their new album is fantastic and love that you can get it on vinyl. Will definitely go to their concert again.

Sheepdogs were amazing, not imaginary cites.

by Thebeergardensdog on 9/2/13Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

Harpoonist and the axe murderer opened and they were amazing at getting the crowd amped for the show. Then imaginary cites came on and put every one to sleep again. But once the sheepdogs came on and picked us up it was amazing! The sheepdogs did a very good job with a good mix of popular and not so known songs. Thanks sheepdogs!

    Such a good show!

by Anonymous on 9/2/13Malkin Bowl - Vancouver

The opening band, The Harpoonist and The Axe Murderer, were absolutely awesome. They had great stage presence, especially considering it was still light out and only part of the audience had arrived, and their music was phenomenal. The Sheepdogs absolutely shredded and melted everyone's minds! They sound even better in concert than they do on their albums. The crowd was hyped up and completely engrossed in their performance.
