A self-described "Celtic soul" trio, the Script were founded by guitarist Marc Sheehan and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue in 2001. The two musicians had previously performed together in Mytown, an Irish-based boy band that enjoyed moderate success at home but failed to generate international acclaim. After the group disbanded, Sheehan and O'Donoghue spent several years in Los Angeles, where they worked as producers alongside the likes of Teddy Riley, the Neptunes, and Rodney Jerkins. They later relocated to Dublin and recruited Glen Power as their drummer, trading promising careers in production for a blend of contemporary R&B and polished, anthemic pop/rock.
Irish alt-rockers The Script haven’t wasted any time getting their music career off the ground since their eponymous studio debut surfaced in 2008. The self-described Celtic soul trio is enjoying the continuing success of its third album, the aptly titled “#3.” That 2012 release, which features the platinum-selling track “Hall of Fame” with will.i.am., topped the charts in Ireland and the U.K. and has been covered by musical television series “Glee” — a true pop culture nod of approval. To date, The Script has helmed two extensive headlining world tours, both of which boasted impressive ticket sales across the globe, including several sold-out arena shows. The soulful performers have also provided opening support for concerts by some of today’s most iconic acts, including fellow Europeans U2 and Paul McCartney. The Script has even transitioned to the screen, licensing a few of their singles for use on U.S. shows such as “90210” and “The Vampire Diaries” and U.K. programs “EastEnders” and “Made in Chelsea.” Frontman and singer/songwriter Danny O’Donoghue also took part in “The Voice U.K.,” serving as a coach alongside Tom Jones, Jessie J and will.i.am.
High Energy and the sound was great. A show you shouldn't miss!!!!
Seriously one of the best concerts I have been to.
This concert was AMAZING... before the concert, breakeven was the song i listened to everyday over the summer and i blast it driving in my car. Both of the bands were amazing and the vocals were awesome live. They each clearly have talent and I keep telling more people to buy their albums, also they spoke to the audience like genuine down to earth people which made it enjoyable and real. I felt like the concert was an experience with the band and not just listening to the CD like most concerts. Every song was so good and the bands were hilarious. I can't wait until you have another concert because I will definetly be going with more friends and the House of Blues is always a great place to go to concerts.
The Script are awesome. Wish the set was a bit longer but all in all Great Show boys!
Awesome show...could have played a little longer though
I have loved The Script's music for a few years now. I knew that I would enjoy the concert, but between the amazing opening act (those guys were great!) and the amazing, full energy experience given to us by Danny, Glen, and Mark, it was a night to remember. They honestly were just as excited to be there as we were, and they were extremely grateful for everyone signing their lyrics back to them. These wonderful performers (as well as wonderful people) deserve whatever and wherever their talents take them.
The crowd was really into them and the Script was really into their fans. It was such an all around positive atmosphere filled with amazing music.
Amazing. They were awesome and sounded great. They were energetic and quite inspiring. They also worked well with the crowd and were quite funny. The Script=Amazing.
This show was amazing and I absolutely love The Script's music. They are so down to earth and LOVE their fans. Kevin Hammond was great, too! I was able to meet both bands and had an amazing time. House of Blues is a great venue :)
The Script is an amazing band!!! Great energy on stage!!! They will be BIG soon!!! I can't wait to see them again!!! The Script ROCKS!!! I just didn't like that the concert was too short!!! Just an hour!!!Come on....
Concert was brilliant, i've seen then three times before and they are always a standout show. Of course i wish it were a smaller venue, house of blues is nice but its always great to see a band like the script in small places where you can hear them sing rather than the audience
This concert was amazing kevin hammond was amazing he is so talented! The energy at the concert was awesome which seemed like the script was having and awesome time up there!!! i was in the general admission area and it was still really fun we were so close to the stage! Kevin and the script were all hot!
Perfect place to see a great band! Not too big, not too small. Brought some friends who were unfamiliar with The Script, but they left as fans! Great crowd who was really into every song. I would love to see them again at the House of Blues.
An absolutely AMAZING show - so much energy and passion throughout the entire show. If you get the chance to see them GO!!! You will not be disappointed.
they sounded amazing but i was expecting a little more. they just played strait through pretty much and didnt really "put on a show." Probably wont go see them again until they come out with another cd
i was actually suprised how good both entertainers were live, just an alll around awesome night with the script and kevin hammonds at the house of blues in boston..thumbs real high
The Script was the most genuine and energetic performance we have seen in awhile. It was great to be part of the experience. We will be following them and hopefully be joining them at concerts for years to come!
It was a great night! Both bands were amazing! I have to say it was the best concert i've been to. I can't wait for them to come back to MPLS.
One word: AMAZING! The Script is sounds just as great live as they do on the CD. They are quite funny as well and they interacted with the audience a lot. It was great concert and I can't wait to see them again. I hope they come out with a new album soon.
The Script rocked the stage with a ton of energy. I had a blast!
